Changing "Terminus" to "Finalus" is like store brand versions of products like "Coco Pops" being called "Choco Crackles." But even those store brands use their own...suspiciously similar but legally different artwork.

It's worth noting that these crypto/NFT scams usually come from 3rd World Countries, where English isn't indeed their mother tongue. So, they blatantly rip off well known 1st world country IP's, in hopes nobody from there notices. That's why they do it. Because nobody from a 1st World Country in their right mind would do it, because they are well aware of the consequences.

Unsurprising how an "industry" rife with people stealing the content of artists and the likenesses of content creators creates a game where it is so painfully obvious that its basis, its art style, and its assets are also stolen.

I find it so funny that the whole initial marketing around NFTs was to allow digital work to remain unique and identifiable, and to protect artists when in reality it has been almost entirely cheap copies of the same artwork or other peoples artwork.

8:30 You know what's funny about this? The crappy pen & paper logo that they made perfectly sums up all of the NFT related games up until now. They tried to be cheeky, even though it's obvious that they did steal, but that low-effort 'logo' fits even better funnily enough.

The devs act exactly in the same way scammers do when you call them out. Even when you have literal video/photo evidence right in their face about being a scam, they will deny it up and down.

As someone who was actively watching and even engaging in this situation - thank you so much for covering it! Honestly it was so refreshing to see our entire community as well as the devs put so many conflicts aside just to mess with the Glory Hole (yep, thats how Paladins community calls them) scammers. What also happened was the community spammed their discord, reddit and twitter dms so much they had to close them. Well, moral of the story? Stealing from communities like ours is a bad goddamn idea

No, it's way more blatant, at least the Gumball people animated their own show. I don't think people are really understanding what they did, they actually datamined the original Paladins Strike game and might have as well been running a private server. All they did pretty much palette swap the characters and change their names, this is not just plagiarism, it's outright stealing assets and code.

It's a damn pity that hirez took like 75% of paladins's funding away to make the actual garbage game called "Rogue Company" *vomit* Based on the downward trend of the game in 2019 close when Atlas released, it's about 2 years before Rogue Company released and around the time Apex Legends first teased in mid-late 2018. Hirez as they always do, chased the hypetrain that was made by Apex and decided that making their own game was a good idea, and was pushed further by the absolute initial success of Valorant. So, they have 3 options of games to siphon money off of. SMITE, but that game actually is their money making machine that everyone plays a lot. Realm Royale, but --- oh wait Hirez killed that game by making the actual most garbage changes. And then we come to Paladins...the middle child that is in an awkward place. I'm almost certain the directors at Hirez made a gamble and thought that based on the success of Valorant and Apex, that they would make more money by cutting off Paladins and funding Rogue Company. And in October 2020, Rogue Company releases and flops after 5 months. It's very laughable how much money hirez lost doing this shit and annoying how paladins has to suffer due to higherup directors making actual garbage decisions. Great game, bad directors. I have no beef with Evil Mojo or any paladins devs, the money grubbing maggots in Hirez actually need to stop chasing trends and killing their (somehow) banger titles :(

The fact that Vatu's VA from Paladins is doing a vid on this NFT game takes this to a whole other level.

Going so far as to rip off on another game like that, just shows how NFT's true path is. How disappointing, most disappointing and wrong.

They really thought they were going to get away with this crap? They really believed that? How the hell could anyone be that damn braindead because I don't get it. We've seen some stupid people do some stupid things in the gaming landscape and especially around NFTs lately but holy hell how did they not only not think "hey, maybe we shouldn't" but they're not even owning up to it despite it being clear to everyone.

@@magythemage It's really not lol. Paladins is a big enough game in which they already land at top of the charts in Steam, they *already* get free publicity basically. They (nor TF2 for that matter) needs some nobody copycat to push visibility to them. Plus let's be real here, Valve ain't cared about TF2 for a LONG time before this, or even during this.

Seriously, if you think the facts shown on this video was enough, I've seen another video talking about it which actually has a number clips from this company's other clips of Glory Hero promotional material. Not only showing how similar names are (Tex, not Lex) for the exact same characters, but they even show examples in the model editor. And yes, like the Beanie we saw, they were foolish enough to show the editor full screen, where you can see the name of the file assets are still..... their Paladins names. There's so much evidence, and they still deny.

The only thing that comes to mind when I hear about this kind of stuff happening to these NFT companies is this: "How many times do we have to teach you this lesson, old man?!" These companies just refuse to learn that they will keep getting hit with copyright infringement claims if they keep doing stupid stuff like this.

I can only think about the amount of information that this "game" will steal from their users

I find it even more funny that Hi-Rez was once being called plagiarist themselves, back when Paladins was about to release Overwatch was shortly already released. People, even you YongYea if I remember correctly, pointed out that Paladins looks and plays very similar to Overwatch. Heroes were similar in play, the gameplay was also similar, the indication of a kill was similar as well where Overwatch had a crimson skull appear on the sights while Paladins used their logo. It was pretty much the meme "Can I copy your homework? Sure just don't make it obvious." So it's like now someone is blatantly stealing from someone who was allegedly stealing because original game was popular.

The NFT bros is a gift that keeps on giving. I love them.

LOL, they took Viktor from Paladins and barely changed how he looks and put him on the middle of their Glory Hero game. Viktor is like the most played character in the game and thought no one would notice. I like how this has put Paladins in the spotlght. I don't like the latest update and I don't want to play this month but this has made me rush to play the game, some more.

Ash is noticeable with her flag with her body armor and Makoa has real life plushie dolls already made for it and Hi Rez often uses to promote how fun the game is. You can't miss it. I even log into the game and see they got an ad for it, promoting the plushie doll. I don't know how Glory Hero could get away with placing those characters on there and think no one would notice,

Why I don't like it but I think she's meant to be one of those characters who is hard to use in a match and the way they modified that health bar, it doesn't really make me want to jump into the game. I think the developers will be rolling out objectives and awards in the Trials of the Realm section to make this update worth while, knowing them, if not any developer. With the new map, yeah, maybe a new map would be nice, hopefully no map that will be stolen and used, to be seen in this Glory Hero NFT game.

It's like those people who think saying that they don't own any of the material when uploading movies/tv shows or music to youtube absolves them of copyright infringement when they're actually incriminating themselves by admitting to stealing

If anyone's wondering which characters on the banner that the game is stealing, from left to right you have Makoa, Ash, Viktor, Kinessa, and Drogoz. The most that's changed is some colours.

In 8:45, that IS STRAIGHT UP VIKTOR. EVEN THE EMBLEMS IN THEIR ARMS ARE THE SAME. Paladins players can literally identify Makoa, Ashe, Viktor, Kinessa, and Drogoz in this picture. We can clearly differentiate between champions and their closest counterparts in Overwatch (Winston, Zarya, Soldier76, Widowmaker, and Pharah), which shows that they at least TRIED changing designs despite big similarities in gameplay. Glory wars didn't even try, because they knew what they were doing. They just didn't know how big the consequences would be.

I can totally believe that, Hi-rez would do anything to promote the game except using proper advertisment.

This was a scam once NFT's were mentioned... But adding the stolen assets and artwork on top of that manages to make it all even more pathetic. I hope this doesn't become a recurring theme. It's disgusting.

I’m loving the NFTs dying, especially due to incompetence. I’d say, even if these stolen assets were worth anything IRL, the hilarity from the drama it’s causing is worth it’s weight in gold. I can’t wait for somebody to mint all of this as an NFT, it’ll be so meta and everyone will still be clowning these guys.

I've made a point, anything that exists ONLY on the internet or computer is not a real investment. Crypto, NFTs, digital "land" and I'm sure we'll see more things like those, only "exist" so long as the power is on, you have a working computer, and the server storing your "investment" is still being run. The second one of those disappears, you investment may as well not exist.

The so called "Glory Hero" game head poster has Viktor, Kinessa, Ash, Drogoz and Makoa on there. They barely even changed the skins on them, i mean it's pretty much a pure copy paste. I've played Paladins for 6 years and this is the craziest shit i've ever seen.

1:02 Wait- in one of the images they said they got $25mill in M&A from a Singapore fund? What the fuck? Do they expect to just make a game with the least amount of money possible and pocket the rest? Someone should contact that Singapore fund and tell them what these guys are doing... Truly NFT-bros are the worst- just trying to fleece and scam people out of any money they can get.

What is the point of hiding the evidence when the wayback machine can provide it in its entirety ? They are just going to make the lawsuit's restitution greater.

Hey there, I'm from the Paladins community, 1. Yes Glory Hero's video was taken down with a DMCA strike 2. It's actually a ripoff of the spinoff of paladins strike. Paladins is the main game and paladins strike had skins made with cooperation with tencent. These skins where only in this spin-off because of the contracts with tencent and those where DIRECTLY ripped from Paladin's Strike 3. Glory Hero's posted somewhere and probably deleted it that this was a way to warn people about buying skins in a game that'll one day go offline.

3:45 This level of shameless theft is practically cartoonish! This is like something I'd expect to see in an episode of "South Park". Who's the developer of this game Snidely Whiplash?! XD

I'm not surprised at this. Video games tend to "borrow inspiration" from each other (remember the Chinese TF2 and Overwatch knockoffs?), and NFTs are scams that steal original work and try to sell it off for money they don't deserve. I suppose it was inevitable they tried to make an NFT game that ripped off an existing video game. Still, nice to see such blatant idiots get slapped down for once, even if it's clear they didn't learn a goddamn thing. And the pen writing on a piece of paper? Really? I suspect this "company" is just two guys in a seedy office somewhere with a couple of PCs and a farming server.

NFTs are like wet paper, it don't last and will never be worth anything after it falls apart. If I were a developer I would actively consider an NFT of anything I own existing to be theft. Mostly because I would NEVER allow or agree to it.

There's an NFT game using League of Legends assets for their promotions advertising on Facebook. I think the name is "League of Warriors" or something like that. They're clearly using the Summoner's Rift map and "variants" of Sona and Katarina in their promos.

Just because the internet paves way for weirdos and pedophilia to exist DOES NOT mean the internet as a whole is a Ponzi scheme. 🤦‍♂️ Look at a genuine crypto asset like XRP as an example. You don’t have the likes of Rosie Rios as one of many individuals spearheading Ripple and XRP behind the scenes ON TOP of Standard Charted and Santander etc all committing to Ripple and crypto technology if this was all a Ponzi scheme. If crypto and NFT’s were a scam you wouldn’t have the Bank of England and it’s accelerator program accept XRP/Ripple to help the next generation of RTGS payments infrastructure. Nor would you have the Saudi Arabia Monetary Authority accept Ripple/XRP as its infrastructure innovation partner. XRP as a crypto WILL change how we conduct payments. Google is for search and XRP WILL be the equivalent for remittances. It may come as a shock to you, but bad eggs resides in all walks of life. M0rons like you need to wake up and smell the roses! 🤡
