I saw that's the next belt I think... I just might do that haha I didn't intend to ever get a belt, but now I am thinking I might as well as I plan to do more picking videos haha

While I don’t put much stock in the locksport belt ranking system but wouldn’t praise be a little excessive if you’ve also been acknowledged for the passing of the white and yellow belts first since one is given acknowledgment for the lowest first and than working to the next level. One doesn’t simply walk into a dojo a black belt unless they reached that level of expertise am I wrong? That Kwikset smart key lock would also be a higher rank than orange and at least check you do a majority of your locks with a hook implying single pin picking, you have also made tools even though they bump keys, and space and depth keys they still qualify as a tool, your channel also mentors people, answers questions and helps others. That too should be acknowledged along the levels of the belt ranking system.

Yeah, I knew of the belt system but I never looked into it. After I made the 677 video a handful of viewers told me it qualified me for it lol I think the belts are the only thing they take from Karate, I think the color system for them is to show what type of locks you are proven to pick. I think... I could be wrong, but it seems that how they use it. As a Locksmith I will always opt for a rake when I can lol, but the hobbyist in me will use a hook on locks that can't be raked or when I am just toying with a lock. I think the only thing I haven't done is make a challenge lock and I have to pick a few more ridiculous locks to move up the ranks. It's something I might do in the future as I come across those locks, some of them you honestly never run into as a Locksmith. I have a couple of channels who are sending me some locks soon to try out. I am by no means at that God Level of picking, but if I had to pick a lock to save my life I have full confidence I will live lol

@@LockandKilo just make sure the community acknowledges the previous qualifications to the other belts too. And the locks you’ve picked. If they are simply going to say you qualify for such and such rank.

@@BelmontClan Yeah, I think the other requirements were just to pick any lock and locks I have already picked anyway. I think their bio says it's designed as a fun way to show what level of picker you are. So, I may climb up the ladder of them so my belt color matches my skillset I suppose lol I think the next belt is to actually pick something like a LOTO and then after that it's to make a challenge lock... that may take me a minute to work on so it may take me a while haha Someone mentioned the low amount of Blue Belts is due to many people not wanting to make a challenge lock. Interesting requirement but, I will give it the ol college try! haha

@@LockandKilo technically as a locksmith you can make a challenge lock and would have to file down a key and likewise pick it. I’m pretty sure you can do that too, we’ll see how far things progress.

@@BelmontClan I think they have a decent amount of requirements for the belt standard on a challenge lock. Something like 6 modifications to the pins, chambers and body of the lock and stuff. I will look into it eventually once I dive back down that rabbit hole of the internet haha
