I had one of those in my shop for yrs as well and found out 2 yrs ago what it was ( linoleum knife) i used it for paint removal , on wood , in tricky places , works great , now i see another use :) Audio , video and content is top notch as usual . Valuable content --- Thanks .

"Every tool is the right tool if you know how to use it " is a good quote . Enjoyed the video . On the seals I try to use 2 if I can to have double protection if possible . I know it may seem like a waste but with the seals as thin as they are it dont hurt lol .

Yep I actually my go and put another in. Actually I probably could get away with sticking a new one in with the old seal,but that would of made a boring video. 😆

@@Jason1Pasecond one can be put in with the lip outward, this keeps outside dirt from entering, thus the inner seal stays clean!

I attempted to rebuild the steering box on out Jubilee back when I was still in high school. What a disaster that turned into, lol. My buddy did carpet work he always called that tool a duck knife, he used it to tuck the new carpet under the trim. I believe its called a linoleum knife. Good video as usual!

These boxes require a lot of patience and some trial and error. Fortunately I found this one in a junk yard that has zero slop in it. I didn't do anything to it until now. It's been on there for 2 years.

I believe that's called a linoleum knife. We use them to cut rolls of sod to size for new lawn installations 😂 I've noticed the seals on my H were way smaller than the originals too. Great video!!

Hi! I was watching this bc I recently bought an 8n and it is missing the lock washer and nut on both pitman arms. Is there anything special about those parts or can I just go to the hardware store for replacements?

It's unlikely you will find a nut that size a fine tread at a hardware store. I searched through some parts places and to my surprise I don't see new ones. Your best bet is to contact someone that is parting out a 8n to get you some.

That is the draft control. It's only used (pushed down) when your plowing with your one or two bottom plow.

@@Jason1Pa Thank you for the wonderful how to video as my tractor is leaking in that exact spot and I see so many others doing the same. On a chance, I tried Just8ns before getting this and they did not list the seal by that number but one digit higher. So I purchased two and in the notes explained I did not find the pitman arm steering shaft seal when I searched but found the one I purchased and if it wasn't correct to please advise me. They are good folks so I suspect they will fix it if I made a mistake. Thanks again and I look forward to more videos from you!
