Thank you for this video! I rebuilt everything on my 600 and lift still did not work then i found your video. I pulled the plug holding the valve in and sure nuff it was stuck i cleaned it and put a new o-ring on it put it back together and it works like a dream now. Thank you!

Cool video! My tractor has been in the shop for at least 3 weeks now. Did all the things Rachel suggested. I never did find anything wrong. I just got done confirming my pump is getting 2000 psi. I was going to hope for the best and put it all back together. Then I found your video. I just figured that valve was so sealed in there that it must not need maintenance. I am pulling it out as soon as I can get to it. I am sure that is the problem. Thank you in advance.

I’m pretty sure it’s the problem and rusty water oil mix will surly stick it and any metal shavings I put a fuller Eaton RTO magnet in bottom of both 901 and 951

Your the only one that has done an update

Good addition to the knowledge pool. The plug cover to my unloading valve does not have the threads. So I used a C clamp to press it out. Worked great

You guys saved me a lot of time! This must be a common problem. My 19 year old son has been working on our Ford 600 that was originally my grandparent’s, and dad’s second tractor here on our farm. This tractor set way over twenty years in our building. This hydraulic portion of the project my son has done mostly himself as a learning experience. We have the Vickers vane pump that is original. It checked out okay. He rebuilt the top lid, and installed it. After installing he had pressure, but no arm lift. So he came to me. The first question I asked my son is what actuated the lifting action. Then we started to research the hydraulic system, and ran across the video you guys created. We went through the repair process you presented. Our unloader valve was really stuck, and had a lot of sludge. Our o-ring look to be in good shape. I didn’t have a replacement. So unfortunately I had to reuse it. After cleaning, and reassembling it now works perfectly. Holds good pressure! I have worked around heavy truck repair all my life, and probably would have eventually figured it out. On the other hand it would have taken more of my precious time. We here at Burton Farms want to Thank You!!!!!!! Our Ford tractor means a lot historically to our 4th generation farm! Now my 19 year old can use the Dearborn 2 bottom plow that he just bought this spring. He, and my dad will be all 😊 smiles.

Thanks for the video! Very informative and helpful! I searched all over the internet for a diagram of the load valve (the one Rachel couldn’t get to come out and just put back in) because I got mine all the way out but I don’t think the last person to assemble it did it correctly. Plus I checked my unloader valve and it was sticking so I followed y’all’s instructions and fixed it. Can’t say thank you enough!

The top cover video they made, did go over this , he didn't spend much time on it , or really explain it , I did the same thing skipped pulling it , on mine the pump kept leaking , I went through the pump 3 times even converted to the newer gear pump and it still leaked ultimately (Had already replaced the relief valve) I calling dan on there tech line, but yes this is what releases pressure , he called it the load valve, and your right very little information about it. This knowledge does need to be passed on , these old tractors could last another 50 years or longer if they keep making parts and we keep the knowledge alive

I've been off and on an old hand me down 64 2000 tractor for years. Hydraulic s would come and go, new seal kit in the top cover adjusted and off and on so many times thru the years. This was great and seemed to fix my issues thanks guys!

Good morning tractor the great work

Nice informative video. It would suck watching a video doing the top lid repair and not knowing about the unloader valve slap it back together thinking you’re all done and it still not working. I’ve seen on many online forums the mention of a common issue with the valve sticking. That was the issue with mine.

Thanks for the video. What problem with the lift were you having? What does the unloader valve do? I'm wonder because my tractor stopped lifting anything heavy one day when I was trying to lift what I think was too much for it. The three point goes up and down fine with no load but under load it moves about 1 inch only.

Hi Hill my tractor goes up but it stays up the hydraulic doesn't go down anymore it will be the same problem with the ring valve?

Mine will lift in the full up position but want hold anywhere else it just falls any suggestions would be helpful thanks

What were the symptoms of your hydraulic trouble?

Important to know the function of the the different part of the hydraulic system

My super dexta lifts up just fine but doesnt want to hold position and doesnt want to lower down when i want it to. Anyone got any ideas whats wrong?

My unloaded valve always gets stuck and then I have to take the entire top cover off, break everything down, clean all up and reassemble. I would like to know how to measure the resistance of the unloaded valve so I can adjust for all temperatures and conditions and never have to disassemble and repair again.

Rachel's father Mike did cover thst valve on one of her videos.

It would not lift at all…. And even after I did the top lid and pump. This was the next item that fixed it

Yes that was the problem….. if I had just known about that step the old tractor could have been up and working in a couple of days…. But instead I now have more gray hair I just hope that this will help more people get their cherished old tractors working Stay safe out there….

my ford goes up but with low weights 70kg it passed from that it does not lift could it be this valve?. I am from Brazil

You must be certain I suppose ,I noticed it is a diesel, diesel was offered to ford in there 01 series tractors,not the hundred series,maybe someone switched it out?

I’m not sure I looked for something above the starter but it’s all ate out and all I could do is match it up to the ( look) of other tractors…. So you might be right it might not be a 641 like I think….
