Done. I did 50 last week in my first go at BDP and thought I'd give this a go. The step up from doing sets of one to sets of 5 was a big one but it works. Your point about the 3rd quarter rings true with me. Thank you for the BDP. I'm really surprised I was able to go from 50 to 75, but you helped me through it. Won't attempt another big jump, just adding a rep here and there as you suggest.

I kept pace until the last set, then my arms gave out. This is both a reality check (I’m 50, not 30) and an ego check (I can’t do what I once could as easily). I think I might head back to 1A and build my strength and stamina rather than just jump into 1B because I think I’m fitter than what I actually am! Fantastic program and can’t wait to smash it.

So just an update: took it easy for the last week and a half getting form right on 1A. Did the landmark tests for 1b navy seals and 6 counts. Just did the 1B follow along that absolutely killed me 12 days ago, and finished feeling as if I could have done more. Really impressed about how this programs builds volume and endurance for only a relatively short investment of time. Super happy!

I just had an unbelievable workout after following along. I've already completed the 1C level however it was a big struggle and I was raggard in sections for both the six count and Navy Seals. So I decided to dial it back a bit to work on form. It was definitely the right decision as I had time in the second half to make sure I was doing each burpee the best I possible could. Time now to move back up to 90 and then 100 six counts again while maintaining form while I do it.

Yeah! Thanks Max, just worked out with you again, to 83 using your increase reps in early sets strategy. Last week I only did 60 minutes, 2 burpees and 1 NS. I had an interview so used that as an excuse to not feel up to it although I should have. My question is, if you ever miss one do you make up for it the next week by doing 100 minutes or do you draw a line under it and carry on as normal? Thanks for your brilliant motivation in getting me this far! Dave
@busydadtraining

Hey Dave!! Thanks for your excellent question. My answer is that minutes cannot be carried forward. I know from my own case that if I had the option of saving up a session for next week, I would start skipping workouts before long. Once the week is over, the 80 minute window of opportunity for that week is closed, and you're paid a fresh 80 minutes on your next Payday. It creates more urgency to find a way of putting in the work, however messed up your week might be.

Hey buddy, do you have any suggestion for "balancing" the left side of the upper body with the right side? I'm right-handed but everything on my left side is a bit smaller than I would like it to be, I mean its visible... My left triceps, pecs...Even my left quads but that's from a broken leg I had when I was a kid, never fully developed the same muscle mass as in my right leg after that. I was thinking maybe a change in position in my burpee exercise could put added stress on the left side and maybe work that out more? Thanks for everything you do as always.
@busydadtraining

Interesting. I would imagine that burpee training over a 6 month period would go a long to correcting the imbalance. Maybe you could experiment with raising up your left hand by an inch or so (eg on a rolled up towel) when you're doing reps -- but stop immediately if you feel any upper back pain.
