    Last year on a work hike up a mountain I came in dead last and had to be chaperoned by two concerned coworkers because I was so out of shape. This year, I came in first place up the mountain. This is attributable to the Busy Dad Program. The Busy Dad Program WORKS. Thank you, Max!

    Get in! PR. Been at 150 for a couple of weeks, hit 153 in my 1st 20m 6 count this week, pushed for the 160 today and got it. As always, you're an inspiration to us all Max. To any doubters, this program works. I started 1st Jan 24, and could only manage 40 6 counts and 20 10 counts. Now I'm at 160 6 counts and 61 10 counts. The numbers tell you all you need to know 👍

    G'day Max, thanks again for the follow-alongs. Did the landmark 150 last week and thought I'd give this one a go today. Again, you manage to break down the seemingly unlikely if not impossible into manageable chunks, and lo and behold suddenly 160 6 counts is my new personal best. Will shoot for 70 navy seals in a couple of days. I'm not sure your praises can be sung high enough, but a lot of people, including myself now, are singing them loud and strong. Thanks for your remarkable work.

    I think I've reached the end of my abilities. I be banked 1d and use it as a baseline but the leap to level z I don't think I'll ever be able to do at 57 years old. I simple could not keep up with the pace at 170 6 counts. I stopped after only two sets. I've just completed 160 here but I sweated like never before. It was wonderful to finish but I don't think I can improve significantly. I'm tight on the edge.

    Needed this! I've been stuck at 150's for a month. Failed at 175 3 times. I did the 160 and it wasnt too bad. The high rep sets of 175 I really struggled with! Edit a few months later doing 2x a week and 160 is def where I can't get better without doing 3x a week. 2024 goal is 3 or 4x a week. So sore though

    Hey BD, You said that you should get the majority of your protein from a large variety of plant sources (to get gut healthy foods + all essential amino acids) as opposed to getting it from meat/fish. However, for protein, the plant sources you mention are legumes and whole grains. the amount of protein that they give is limited compared to some high protein meat / fish. So how can you get the majority of your protein from a large variety of plant sources without having to eat an enormous amount of legumes/ whole grains? Ive tried finding some high protein plant sources, i've found almost none that come close in protein content to certain meats/fish. How do you keep your plant sourced protein varied? different plant sources on different days/on the same day? Also do you combine whole grains + complex carbs + legumes in the same day or do you eat each on different days?

  • @busydadtraining

    @busydadtraining

    10 ай бұрын

    I combine whole grains and legumes in at least one meal a day, usually of them. The protein is combined with carb content, so you don't get protein in isolation, but you still get a ton of protein. One can of chickpeas, two portions of brown rice and a couple of cups of kale get you 40g good quality protein. I'm going to do some more nutrition videos soon, so watch this space!

    Rep counting (maybe my Asperger crappy short term memory is the cause) is something I mess up on. Tried clothes pegs. Every 10 reps moving across from one pile to the next Tried doing 10 reps point north, moving 90 degrees every 10….. Also tried doing 1,2,3,4,5,6 in English and rep counts in Japanese/Korean/Klingon etc. That helped. Guess if you know your pace, then time will give an indication. How do you not loose your way with >200 reps or so?

    Hey my man, I have been known to lose count but it's rare. I'm not sure why. I think of each set as a ladder, and i inwardly say to myself the bottom rung and the top rung of the ladder. As in, 'let's take this from 97 to 112'. That tends to help.

    @@busydadtraining Haha, somehow you still look 80 years older than me. Alcohol preserves, I guess. Just kidding, but that's a thing I've observed in many men who train; they just look a heck of a lot older. But then again, some don't and I don't look older when I train either, so maybe that's genetic. Also, protein supplements really age the crap out of some guys.
