I don't think Natsuki has formally studied English in the same manner that Chris has studied Japanese........so I would guess that his Japanese is much better than Natsuki's english......leading it to be less amusing than you might anticipate XD

True vegan is really hard now. No meat, dairy, eggs, gelatin, or insulin in a modern world is really hard. Insulin for diabetes comes from pigs. You can't have medication that comes in gel caps. Dairy can be found in non food items and processed foods. Eggs make their way through processed foods. Meat is the easiest to avoid. Just don't be allergic to corn, soy or gluten if you choose this life.

I think maybe Natsuki was actually saying "Just is delicious" with "delicious" being the one word he would use to describe it, as opposed to "Justice delicious", which, to be fair, also seems like a good way to describe such a beautifully prepared piece of meat!

Traveling Americans tend to be friendlier (and often a pretty good representation, for better and worse, of overall American mentalities and mannerisms). We have a lot of flaming asshats here, of course, but they're not the type who travel overseas for a vacation: Particularly to a nation where English isn't the primary language. So if you meet an American somewhere that's not America, chances are excellent we'll be about the nicest person you'll meet on your trip!

Sorry to break your dreams Chris but the Japanese "Jajamen" noodles actually probably come from the Chinese dish 炸酱面 (zha jiang mian) and are actually pretty similar to begin with other than the sauce being made from soybean instead of miso. The addition with the hot water used to cook the noodles afterwards you have ate partway through it though is really unique and interesting change from Japanese people :)

I will be using "Justice" from now on when reacting positively to food. Just imagine eating a real juicy piece of meat, flying up from your seat and yelling "JUSTICE!" from the top of your lungs. There is no better way to compliment a chef, aye?

So awesome! I lived about 30 minutes outside of Morioka for 2 years. I miss all of the food you presented...especially jajamen and genghis khan. ...And a nice Yebisu Beer (my favorite). Thanks for the great video.
