2021 Rogue Invitational - Strongman Event 3 - Wheel of Pain

Спорт

Complete coverage of Event 3 of the inaugural Strongman competition at the 2021 Rogue Invitational, from Dell Diamond in Round Rock, Texas (Saturday, October 30). The Wheel of Pain is the largest implement ever constructed specifically for a Strongman competition, weighing 20,000 LBS and standing 21 feet tall x 36 feet in diameter. It took three months to design and build, requiring complex engineering and expert craftsmanship. In the challenge itself, each athlete must push the merciless wheel as far as they can in 60 seconds. All surpassing 80 feet in their efforts, Mateusz Kieliszkowski, Martins Licis, and Tom Stoltman battle to get in the win in the Wheel's Lone Star State debut.
Details of the Event:
Farthest distance pushed wins
Time Cap: 60 seconds

If I was the event organizer, I would place the measuring circle on tiny wheels so it can be moved, and therefore setting the wheel takes one person and can be done faster and easier. Other methods can be used to shorten the time, I am sure the fans would appreciate it. Love to watch these videos and love the athletes, food for thought guys.

Also a higher speed might favor some athletes more then others. But even then it would not fit a strongmen competition as it's about the man vs the implement. Another option is to have a team event and two wheels. And once you drop you cannot continu.

Why? That adds nothing, it's already difficult enough as it is. It also would present a higher chance of injury. Not a good suggestion imo

@@connorbrady5689 every event in the strongman event has high chances of injury. That is why Brian Shaw (a 4xworlds strongest man) had an injury. What I suggested was just to up then difficulty but again I was talking out of my butt 😅

@@bhavsarp90 You think it’s not entertaining as it is? You think adding sand will make it more entertaining? You think it’ll be entertaining watching strongmen tear their achilles and hobbling off the set? Nah man, this is just a bad idea.

Bad design on the height of the spokes should be lower to give the athletes the chance to get behind the spoke and produce more power.
