Oleksii Novikov is a machine. He is always very impressive.
Yeahhhh... really helps give context to Oleksii gassing out to end this show, he was giving absolute maximum effort constantly and was torching events he shouldn't be elite at. He has had so many incredible over-performances imo.
Damn Oleksii, I think no one will keep saying he's not strong enough. That deadlift, truckpull and BTN press definitly proved them wrong.

Tom is a cheat. He and Luke didn’t touch the apparatus to the ground for multiple reps, holding it higher and thus making it easier. Everyone else hit the ground each rep. Poor refereeing and making me believe more and more than they get preferential treatment.

2023 now and still haven't been able to watch the full show or heats. (Belgium) I understand the tv rights explanation but how about all the fans outside the UK or US? Pretty absurd with all the other shows going on and all of them perfectly watchable worldwide..

Martins lost a rep but I think he was going so quickly to hit the rebound momentum of the jeep coming off the ground. He is a technician always playing smart. Good move but obviously a little risky outpacing Magnus.

Those close-up shots really show how big these guys are. Absolute monsters of human beings.
People saying heavier weight and longer time?? We wanna see them lift not die
i hope we get to see the heats
Mitch definitely will improve at this event once he has the chance to properly train vehicle deadlift! Even though he's arguably the strongest deadlifter in this final, he might not have had the event-specific experience to win it this time. You can see that he's pulling vertically up and then trying to hitch, rather than leaning back a bit like Trey Mitchell (or like Mariusz used to!)

Suck that Martins lost a rep. Oleksii is crazy, the nose bleed. Omg, i love him!

The last time I see the single person car deadlift event like this was 2008, kinda less intense if there are no battle between the competitors. But the athletes performance were good tho
novikov reminds me of larry wheels. they move like hydraulic presses, completely stiff with no wasted movement

Poor Martins!!!!
People are already talking about WSM 2023 and we've had no way to watch this properly in Australia until these videos came out. It's an absolute joke. Call it Worlds Latest Release. When you can get the results in real time, the excitement is gone trying to watch it over 6 months later with zero commentary, no real show. Sign broadcast deals with other countries so we can watch this properly
Bad weight choices if folks are running out of time and still have reps left. Remember your name sake, 'World's STRONGEST Man'.

@@theworldsstrongestman What does that have to do with making the car deadlift too light? Also, as the gentleman above me noted, 5 out of the 10 finalists completed the ladder and a couple didn't even try to. That's not 'almost nobody'. You also make it heavier and up the time limit and maybe guys like Martins don't go out like its a race because they have to beat a time limit and not a weight and guys like Trey and Shaw don't run out of time with reps still in the tank.
