You can turn the emergency brake feature off from the dash menu so when your on track turn them off and they won’t flash on heavy braking

yeah he even said it at the start of this point that he was looking through the options and left it on so him to then say its an issue at track was stupid.
Only things I didn't know about was the lean angle sensing headlights and the E-Break lights, so thank you for that, makes me pretty much 100% want the RS660 now rather than the R7 or ZX6-R. Another option is the Bluetooth module that allows you to connect your phone to the bike. Sold as an accessory by Aprilia.

Many videos out there picking the Aprilia 660 over the R7 any day.
Considering the projected mpg is a bit over 50mpg, it makes sense that the fuel light kicked on at one gallon left, and you didn’t run out after ~30 miles of riding
Those are all the reasons I got my RS 660 in the first place. Couldn't believe it came with all that.
If you remove the rear pillion seat, there's lougage rack/bracket already included. So you can do tour and strap a tail bag or even a top box

@No_Name Well some people do 😆
Hi Bill, Great Video...Again I'm glad you showed us the cornering lights. I've been wanting to see how they worked. The cruise control is one of the options that sold me on the bike. Unfortunately, I will not be able to get one until next year. I have not been on a bike for so long. I'm planing on getting a used Honda CBR300R ABS, HOPEFULLY in July 2021. Then either next January or February picking up a left over, if there are any, or a 2022. Keep us up to date on all your mods. Stay Safe.
Just rode one at Laguna, it's taller than I imagined, the seat, that is. I like it.
Fantastic review, thanks mate!!! I'm thinking to get one now 😆
Bought one in the blue and lava red livery last year, summer rides and the track being the motive. I am used to the wind protection of an FJR and a H2 SX, so I thought I might have an issue with the air blast and thought about the bigger, optional screen. Didn't bother in the end. I'm amazed how much protection the fairing and standard screen afford. A fantastic little gem of a bike... love it.

Cool! 🙌🙌🙌
Keep it coming, great content! Overall still happy with the purchase?
If you haven't figured it out, you need to get the Euro ECU in order to get the fairing blinkers to work. That means you need to delete the cat and get a new pipe. You can't run the Euro tune on it with a cat. The heat will burn it up. I just purchased the SC Project Trofeo and the Euro ECU. I should have it in about 4 weeks.
Really nice review. Hope your still having fun on it!

Im so excited waiting for my RS 660. There is very little information about this bike around so thank you for sharing.
Hi there, great videos. Really informative and useful! I had a question regarding the quick shifter and hope can find an answer here. I recently bought a 2022 RS660 and yet I have to use manual clutch to switch gears ( 1 down , 2,3,4... are up ). I even got to 40 50 Km speed and every time I want to switch gears, I have to use the clutch. Is there an option in the dashboard settings to swtich from manual to quick shifter? I am also very new to motorcycle so please bare with my naïve question :)
Awesome work on this review 😎
Do you think it’s better than the 2021 Ducati supersport?
Hey Bill, thanks for your great videos! quick question, have you by any chance figured out if you can disconnect the indicators in the mirrors, and use the European ones, built into the headlight unit? Or did Aprilia produce a completely different headlight unit for the US? (this would be a great option for those want other mirrors, like on the bar ends)
@corsaa_
Жыл бұрын
The headlight unit is the same for the US. I have the Gabro Racing Upmap and the headlight blinkers are enabled, mirror blinkers disabled. I can switch to bar end mirrors if I want and I'll still have front turn signals.
Best bike for that price I've ever picked up. I got a new 2022 version 2 years ago and it's a heaven on the road.

The key is to be aware of your skills, ask to have a lead follow and find someone (a pro preferred) to teach you. Great video ....got mine 3 days ago after a long waiting time. Can't find the manual turned on hazard / warning lights in case of emergency....any idea ? Cheers from Europe and keep safe folks.
I just got this bike. How do those strip DRL stay on? Mine seemed to stay off and i could only momentarily get them on by pushing the pas button. Also do all lights to include high beams stay on?
Nice video bro you just convinced me all the way of making 100% decision of getting this is my first bike I’ve been going back-and-forth for months making a decision and this is exactly what I want I’m not a speed demon and I take safety for everything nice video

I have one, you’ll absolutely love it !
Could you compare it with Tuono, pro/cons?
Hi is that the standard license plate holder or an aftermarket item, thanks
Great content, to the point, informative & exciting to watch, subscribed and looking forward to future content regarding RS660 (expecting to trade in my Z750 for this beauty soon :D)
I confirm, in Europe we don't have turn signals on the mirrors. That way, when you add mirrors to the handlebars, no worries. I have it in acid gold, Akrapovic line, a real treat for beautiful roads and trackdays!!! V de France
The cruise control feature is impressive and intuitive, my 2013 BMW GSA doesn't even have cruise control, and the cruise control is designed perfectly, other systems are not nearly as good as this one. As for the fuel gauge, I like it, but I am also having some trouble with mine, my fuel gauge is no longer working, willing to bet my float assembly is swimming around in my tank. I still have ZERO regret about this bike, love it 100%, but, I suppose things like this happen when you buy the very first model of a brand new model.
LOL, I got 4 out of 5 on my 2 gen Suzuki sv650. BTW, so glad it doesn't have all those electronics. I've been following your reviews on the RS, seriously considering getting one. Thanks for the work in doing these reviews!

Realy instructive !
I plan on buying one as my first bike. Just gotta find out about the noise or lackthereof from the exhaust
Doesnt it have a miles till empty below the speed as an option if you switch away from your milage for example?
They really did a solid job with this bike, I don't think I'll get one but I might go after that new RSV4, we'll see how things go. But to me the gas gauge, and that 6 axis IMU are really what sets this bike apart. The tech is just phenomenal.

Can you hook up phone to the TFT? Bluetooth pairing?
You through me off lol. I thought these were additional options. But they sound like standard features. Good video, these bikes are pretty good value!

hello, quel est la marque du support de plaque et du bouchon de réservoir ? bien vu pour les clignotants je n'avais pas remarque entre les USA et l'Europe
I hope you never have any issues with your Aprilia..My bike is still in the shop after 3 months and waiting after my bolts from my sprocket came off and almost killed me. Still waiting and very bitter on service from Aprilia.
Also, I'm assuming this is the case on the RS as it is on the Tuono 660. If you remove the passenger pillion there is a built in luggage rack where you could strap down a small tail bag. Very cool and surprising feature. Credit to LambChops who just got a test ride on the new Tuono 660.
Cool, Bill. Still waiting for my RS 660 in NYC. 🤣 Question: Any clearance issues with those Spyder brake/clutch levers? Saw another Tuber said his after-market levers hit the fairing in extreme positions.

@@CaliMotoTV So, go with them anyway? Just be careful when parking, u-turning, etc.?
So in the beginning I was super excited to get this bike but now seeing all the electronics that COULD go wrong eventually...idk. I'd like to know that when the throttle fails its a simple cable to fix.
So is this in the 600cc supersport class?
Bro great ...!! 🤩

if it's standard it's not an option. Stop saying option.
In the usa integrated turn signals like that woulnd't be allowed, it's not aprilia pulling some switcheroo.. that's why audi and some other car manufacturers have to work around their sequential turn signals.
Does it have the option for nav in the factory dash?

@@CaliMotoTV That’s disappointing
Great bike.
this bike is pure black right? everything else (the ''A'' the ''aprilia'' the ''rs 660'') are all stickers right?
thats wrong about the fuel light - the light comes on with about 80 miles left in the tank. There's actually another stage, where the last bar disappears, which is around the 30 mile mark. My Ninja 650 did the same.
I think you forgot one thing. If you take the passenger seat off and wanna add lugguage then you already have holes for the tension belts. At least I have this in the european modell, and find it really good since I dont get to scratch my paint then. Its on both sides and easy to use.
What is fuel consumption on this bike please tell in kmpl is it good for touring.

I wonder how the engine braking control actually works... Like, how are they changing it? What thing are they altering?
Wow, nice feature about the emergency flashing during hard braking. Don't care much about cruise control, I doubt it if anyone just cruising long distance on this bike. Can you do a comprehensive review of the dash board. What else does it have?
i don't know if you'll see this but the reserve fuel holds 4 liter of petrol in it.
Euro model doesn't have blinkers at all. We get indicators.
I'm 3 min in to the video. #2 is strange because you say it doesn't tell you "miles to empty" however I have miles to empty on the tripometer....What am I missing?

Can you add to this bike: A tank bag with tank lock Side rack from GIVI for side cases Frame sliders Phone holder. I come from ninja 400 and naked bikes, I know these type of bikes are harder to get these extras for
In North America you cannot have the DLR as indicators hence in NA the indicator is integrated into the mirror - which is a bit of a shame as it looks very cool like the europeans have it in the DLR's
Wish there was a dealer near me closest one is two hours.

Regarding the emergency blinkers remember you can turn it off in the menu you don't need to take off the blinkers. I didn't knew you can trick it to flash with 3 taps of the break :) And a small question you mentioned that AEB 1 is the most aggressive and 3 is the least but according to the manual its inversed. In fact a general rule of thumb according to the manual the smaller the number (or off) the least intervention/assistance/limit you get... Ps ... top 5, the self canceling turn signals are also a subtle feature.
I've been driving my RS for 2000kms now and I've never used cruise control. Not a single time! This is not a bike for travelling, dudes
