    @@rt2255 The RS660 makes about 100 horsepower, weighs under 400 pounds with mods, and produces useable torque. With the pretty high end components on the Aprilia, it's a track ready machine. Yes a 600 supersport would be quicker in the right hands, but a tighter track would even the score. Corner speeds are higher with lightweight bikes, especially twins.

    @@rt2255 It's a game of numbers. At a certain point the rider has to be professional. With broader torque, a twin works well in the curvy bits more than a peaky four, but it depends on the track.

    amazing track riding, totally enjoyed tyhe vid. kudos to cuban for the enthusiams for getting smoked lol. What this confirms to myself as a track day enthusisast is more cc's is a pointless endeavor. I ride an RS660 and trying to ride it as fast as Tyler.... well I know I will never extract that level of performance from the bike. Dude was super fast! But its an absolute blast trying, and no amount of $$ or HP is going to make me a better rider. It is simply the brain > throttle that wins the day, not the machine. If everyone partaking in trackdays understood this, trackdays would be so much better. wink wink.

    For us regular joe blow riders anything over a 600cc inline 4 is a waste of time and $. Everyone's prospective is the ''bigger the better'' (faster) That maybe be the case for 1/4 mile tracks. But, for road racing/track days you're better off on a smaller displacement bike. Unless you're a pro rider you will never be able to use the full potential of a liter bike on a track. I have over 45 years of riding experience. Started small, went BIG to end up with the biggest displacement i'll ever ride. I now ride a sumo 450 and it is the most fun you can have with your cloths on. Great riding cono!

    Hello Cuban Rider, Your Videos are stellar !! Not to get off the topic however I just picked up a couple of new bikes and it seams we have the same taste in riding. One of them is a BMW S 1000 XR (2016 in Red) fully loaded with the BMW upgrades and the other is a new Triumph Speed 1200 RS. It seams like I have seen a video with you and a Triumph ? . If you are any near So. Cal I would love to go for a putt some day. I personally think the Triumph is faster and wanted to get your point of view and your take on both bikes ? Keep up the good work and post a Triumph vid. I wish BMW could set the new M1000xr with 165 HP and 110 foot pounds of torque wouldn't that be a hoot ?

    The Triumph is much newer, more refined and I think it looks better. It's also much lighter and with higher capabilities. I experienced some issues with mine which are quite common and decided it wasn't the bike for me. The electronics is what killed it for me, I can keep Dynamic Pro on at all times on my 8 year old BMW, but Triumph will default to Road mode if you shut if off in Track mode.

    What is the actual difference between fast and faster? Is it all about balls, once you are pretty experienced? I have always been fast - for the tiny slow bikes I've owned - but have never ridden anything with over 37 hp.. On small winding roads I have never been left behind by "street racers" while on my MZ 250 (I kid you not) so I actually wonder, what "is wrong with them". Even though they weigh a bit more, I would think, that the 3-5 times as much power, and 30 year younger chassis, would turn them into rockets compared to my old 22 hp artsy fartzy toy..

    Too many edits. 1 minute you are showing us the back straight, then suddenly you jump ahead 4 or 5 corners. One video you showed the back straight then jumped back to 5,6,7..... For those of us that have driven COTA and know the track, jumping corners like that really detracts from the video; especially when you jump backwards and show 5,6,7 after showing 12-13. I don't think I've seen an entire continuous single lap in any of your videos. Something that would be of interest to people who haven't been there yet would be to describe the elevation changes. The camera makes the track look flat, but it is far from flat. Most would like to know about 7,8 being off camber, 10, 11 to 12 has enough elevation change I get airborne there every lap in my Porsche. The uphill climb at 1 with the huge G out in the braking zone is a rush because you get so much braking grip if you time that G out just right.

  • @CubanRider

    @CubanRider

    Жыл бұрын

    Thanks for the tips. I try to keep it interesting for those not familiar with COTA. Few people are interested in watching me being stuck on traffic or just running through the gears in a straight line. I'll think of a good voice-over to do to show the entire track.

  • @briangc1972

    @briangc1972

    Жыл бұрын

    @@CubanRider I walked COTA one time. You might consider that. Walking it really shows the camber and elevation changes. I especially liked the off camber transition on 7-8 where if you are tight to the apex you are flat, but get a little too far out trying to pass and it transitions to off camber. I think most viewers would love to see a track walk on the major tracks. 45 seconds at each corner showing what the track does would be a real eye opener for most.
