    Anyone buying a t1n Sprinter should see this video first! Great analysis of things to look at. I have been having serious doubts toward the affordability and winter performance of my t1n. Safari, astro and others keep showing up for sale and seeming Wise. Your channel has gone a long wait to helping Me feel comfortable and confident standing behind my t1n no matter what. Ive had it for 2 years!!, and it was very, couple thousand dollars, cheap!

    Great video! My sprinter beeps when the key is out but my issue is the ignition switch sometimes sticks and if you wiggle the key a little the beeping noise goes away. But no big deal for me. I sprayed WD40 in the switch but realized I should of sprayed a can of air because moisture got inside the ignition switch and I added more moisture with WD40. The beeper noise is getting better and starting to turn off since the WD40 is fading away. I expect this issue will correct itself. But the van in this video has an enormous amount of rust on it and especially underneath it which is suspicious. I noticed in the video that van was a 3500 but didn't see the 3500 marker anywhere in the video. But did notice dual tires in the back. I personally would stay away from 3500 because they charge extra tows on the interstate for dual tires. I found this out from another van person. Plus you have to buy two extra tires. I really enjoy watching this video. You really know how to look for the important stuff. Great job!

    Good review with great camera action. This gallup sound indicate time ti clean AGR? Did ya figure out what was causing the constant beeping as it wasn't the seat belt? I assume there wasn't any roof rust at the seams with the 159" wb. Good inspection!!

    I agree, the gallop at idle is probably a bad or dirty EGR. I did not get to find the cause of the beeping and the seller wouldn't let me look under the plastic engine cover. Roof looked like it had a little rust at the seams and it was painted over, not treated. The inside of the cargo hold was painted too so I couldn't "see" any rust. But it wasn't smooth and I think we both know why. hehe

    Really? I have a 2006 t1n sprinter 118" high roof.. rare... I only have 51,000 original miles... This gets my tlc..... Had antifreeze and transmission fluid replaced at 25k in 2013.. any suggestions what I should do at this current age? Steering Controller going bad and needs replacement.. That is it.. Also, I had 1 glow plug replaced in 2013 cuz I just started engine during winter to make sure keep everything circulating...bad idea... Find out that I needed run the engine and for a drive at 20 minutes..to remove moisture in the engine or the glow plugs could rust out... Since then no problems... Lmk. Ty

    Well, I can't say it is a problem immediately in this picture, but it has to be a concern when trying to alight the wheels if everything is rusted up and won't turn. It is something to prevent if we can. And we can, so treat the rust you have to prolong the life to the parts.

    Do you know if the van has been "tuned" to eliminate the EGR? If the EGR is unplugged and the check-engine light is not on... the van has been tampered with. Either the engine light bulb (LED) has been blocked or the ECM has a tune installed. If you live where vehicles get inspected prepare for a lot of headaches. If you don't know who/how the van was tuned, getting it to pass inspections is going to be a challenge!!!

  • @FloridaVanMan

    @FloridaVanMan

    In 2018 I paid $2000 each for 5 vans painted. The first one was pretty descent but each one after that got worse. One of them was so bad the shop agreed to refund 100% because the paint on the roof isn't quite the same white on the rest of the van and there are other bigger problems like backing my van into a bush immediately after painting. My point, you get what you pay for one way or another. Some shops will quote over $10,000 but if you keep looking you will find one to do it under $3,000 with a roll of dice.

    kyle brookins I get the beeping on my van and it is because of the lock mechanism sticking, I can jiggle my key and pull it out quickly in a certain way where whatever is inside the mechanism releases and the beeping stops. Don't know if this is the same but worked for me.

    Hey my 2003 is doing the same beeping thing with the key out. You said a bad switch or something worse? Like ignition switch?I've got a crank, no start situation with 180k miles. Tach bounces when trying, its got fuel pressure, and I used to be able to start it with a little squirt of hyrdro-lock juice.. I've followed all your videos very closely trying to help diagnose the issue, very helpful but still no luck. My Autel only brought up glow plug errors so I replaced all 5 with the control module. I definitely have a bad EGR from the amount of oil spray when it was running and lack of power, I cleaned it and replaced the gasket in the weeks before she died.. Could an EGR cause a no start? Any ideas on that key beep? Thanks and keep up the great work!

    @@mikehresko if you have your old glow plugs you can use them to test if your module is still working properly. Use a glow plug wire, plug in a old glow plug, make sure to ground the glow plug to the block, have someone turn over your engine and see if the glow plug glows or gets hot. Regardless you shouldn't even need glow plugs to start if it's warm climate where you are. So you almost certainly have a fuel issue but testing the module is an easy first step.

  • @FloridaVanMan

    @FloridaVanMan

    Yes, an EGR could possibly prevent a start, though I have not seen this in my experiences. I would be very curious to hear it turn over and see if the oil cap bounces while cranking. A bad MAF can cause a stall immediately after start, so I would test that next. We have a video that shows how to test the MAF with a volt meter. Links in the video description for a meter.

  • @FloridaVanMan

    Million Mile Sprinter also has a very good video showing how to test glow plugs and module with a volt meter and a few 10amp fuses. ideals you'll only need one fuse, but a bad GP will blow the fuse signaling it failed the test.

    Mine does that beep sometimes when removing key. It's like the key is still in the ignition so I just kinda pull it out a little sideways instead of straight out & it stops the beep. It's like the switch sticks in the ignition. Been meaning to try some WD to see if that helps but I have gotten use to it.

  • @FloridaVanMan

    @FloridaVanMan

    There is a tiny little micro switch clipped onto the side of the ignition. Releasing the clip will allow the switch to come out and then it will never think the key is in. So the beep stops for ever.

    @@FloridaVanMan Like I said it doesn't bother me. I just put a lil pressure on the key when I pull it out & the buzzer stops. I just kinda put a little twist on it instead of pulling it straight out. Lil friction flips the switch.

    Yup didn't catch that at first. They (may or may not) buy 3-4k dollar rust buckets from the NE and slap a paint job on them, then sell them for 14k to unwitting buyers. These inspection videos are awesome. Especially when they expose scam artists trying to capitalize on the relative rarity of low mileage T1Ns.
