    Hey Mike, where did you get your service manual? I’m trying to locate one for a 2008 e320. Also, is there a reliable forum you use similar to the Sprinter Forum? I’m finding it a bit problematic to find. Cheers, Tommy.

    Howdy Florida Van Man and everyone else! I've got a 2005 T1N dodge sprinter 2500 and it has that lock unlock, lock unlock lock symptom. With mine the passenger door and passenger side sliding door wont lock when I try and lock the van using the fob or central locking button on the dash. I have to physically unlock and lock them with a key or from inside the cab. I tried all the methods in your video inlcuding thorouhgly cleaning all of the contacts, do you have any other recommendations for me to try? Not sure if this is helpful at all but the inside door panel for the passenger sliding door is a wood panel so the previous owner definitely replaced the original cloth/vinyl panel, this is a passenger style van.

    If everything is lubricated and the door handle twitches but doesn't lock/unlock, the locking drive motor is likely tired and needs replaced.

    Regarding your comments at the end, isn't moving up to 2000 RPM, and thus no longer "idling," solving those issues? Or is it that the engine needs to be at those RPM and under significant load (more than charging a house battery) to solve those issues? It seems to me that your concerns are exactly why you would install a high-idle kit.

  • @FloridaVanMan
    @FloridaVanMan4 күн бұрын

    Raising the idle without adding a load is still "idle", just a higher idle. It still presents all but one of the troubles with extended idle, and faster!

    What year is that e320? I have a 2008 e320 and a 2005 t1n! Do you know the torque value of the drain plug on the 320? I stripped mine a few oil changes ago and I’m gunshy now. The dealer sold me the esp 5w-30 for my T1n several years back before the prices went crazy there. So I use it for the 320 and T1n based off of their recommendations.

    The magnets will grab some fuel handle hardware becoming a mild nuisance, holding the door and obstructing our attempt to grab the handle. The rusty magnets shown had been on the door originally, but I moved them to the van days or weeks after putting them on the door. I didn't get around to covering with caulk for a couple years, so the magnets on the door must have been a real inconvenience driving me to action so quickly. :)

    just an FYI for everyone: "Mercedes-Benz 228.31 engine oil is excluded for approval and use in the Sprinter OM612 and OM647 Direct Injection diesel engines, as we have research to show that the oil on these sheets can have a detrimental effect on the components of the engine." Also, listed as not approved on MB Bevo spec sheet. On the other hand, I know a lot of people have used Rotella for years and continue to do so . . . . Hello, I have a Sprinter 2005 2.2cdi and it has power loss and does not rev over 3000rpm when the car is stationary. when I'm driving it can pass 3000 rpm and reach 4000 rpm. but I can't understand why it can't pass 3000 rpm when the car is stopped and I press full throttle. I had one injector leak off I replaced it but the problem was not solved. what I think could be a turbo actuator. it has a mechanical actuator in which a hose is connected to a solenoid. during a stop of the engine, it has a vibration sound and I can feel the vibration in the hose. Can I make a clock mechanical actuator with regard to turbo? or only the electric actuator can be clocked? thanks for your video.

    Your vacuum actuated turbo is similar to our 2002-2003 Sprinters here. The 3000rpm while parked issue and failing at highway speed sound like fuel pressure problems. Do you have a compatible code reader? I can help you setup an AP200 and get a round OBD adaptor that works, if your van needs one. I'll send several links with short instructions like "Buy this" "Watch this" then ask for specific readings you get with the code reader. it does more than just report codes. 1-on-1 assistance is a member benefit. • @FloridaVanMan
    @FloridaVanMan10 күн бұрын

    Not a process I recommend unless you are changing coolant types. I don't mess with the radiator drains and simply remove the lower radiator hose so it all flushes out quickly. When the engine is cold I flush with hose water but I know my water quality here is good with very low mineral and iron content. The thermostat closes so you may want to remove that for a "flush" of the engine cooling jacket. Flushing the radiator would be a smart time to replace the thermostat, but the you won't know which action brought change.
