Fuel Elbows, 2004 2006 Sprinter Diesel Leaks

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

A common leak on our Sprinters comes from these little fuel elbows. I et them in a kit from Million Mile Sprinter (see link below). www.millionmilesprinter.com/product-page/rubber-elbow-hoses-to-fuel-pump-kit

Just about to do this today (with oil/filter change). I tightened the bolts in rear of HPFP a couple weeks ago, in hopes of stemming my leak, but alas - it's the elbows! I didn't replace them, as I was unable to access the clamps, so I hoped for the best. Thanks for sharing the diagonal cutter twist technique!!

Lol, I literally just did this exact same job yesterday with the same struggles. Thought the HPFP was the source of the leak but it was those factory clipping hose clamps on those two fuel lines. I think the non-marring type clamps you(and I) used will last much longer than the factory ones. Very helpful nonetheless. Thanks once again!

I just tackled this job last week on my 2006 and did the screws behind the HPFP at the same time. Managed to swap out those two 90-degree hoses without undoing the metal high-pressure lines and the oil filter .... but it took me so long and so much frustration lol. Wish I had seen your video before, I would probably have gone about it your way. Thanks for the video.

We have a video on the 6 screws and detail how the hoses are easier to fit while the pump is dismounted. Pushing tho hoses on first, then push the pump into place. I guess it is too late now. Sorry. Find me on FaceBook and I'll try to point you toward the corresponding video BEFORE you start the next project. :)

Is it a good idea to remove hpfp and tighten the back "while you are there"?

Yes, there is a different video that centers on that and merely mentions these elbows. kzread.info/dash/bejne/Y6t1s86reaqvedI.html

What is ur opinion on a 2011 freightliner van ? Any problems?

Not for me. A 2011 will have DPF and DEF issues sooner or later. Get accustomed to the dash light that looks like an ice cream cone fell down and a countdown telling how many times you can start the van before it says "no!". "10 starts remaining".

I thought so, but the tool is junk that reboots randomly and does NOT have the features I was told it has.
