This video was very helpful. Thanks for the upload. I needed to replace my tone rings, they were rusted away, and the hubs were also rusty. bearings had excess play. All new bearings hubs and tone rings. having new hubs makes the job easier and faster.

Just wondering why you are replacing these bearings?? Was your van making a whining noise coming from the rear end or what? I have an 05 sprinter and it has whining noise coming from the rear end. I don’t know if it’s the wheel bearings or maybe the differential.

Hey there, I was replacing as there was a humming/rumbling noise while driving that increase with higher speeds. I had recently paid a mechanic to repack and check my bearings and unfortunately I think the grease was bad quality. The humming at the rear if I had to guess would be your pinion bearing/seals in your differential.

You posted all the parts you replaced but the actual bearing kit. Whats a link direct to what you purchased?

Whoops! A 901 330 10 25 is the repair kit from Mercedes. I ordered my kit from Europarts sd. Both will do the job.

Great video, very descriptive I appreciate that. thanks for making it! Previous owner of my van stripped the hub threads on one of the wheel mounting holes. Should I replace the entire hub?

Hey man, glad to have helped! I’d replace the hub if I were you as I’d be worried the wheel might come off lol. Let me know if you can’t find any hubs that are decently priced - the shop that messed up my wheel bearings sent me 2 brand new hubs, with new tone rings, new wheel bearings/seals already packed and ready to go.

lol ya definitely don’t want that. Damn okay nice! Well I’m in Windsor Ontario, I was gonna get one from a wreck yard and get some new bearings in there but if you have no need for yours I’d love to take it off your hands!

Hey Joe, sorry for late reply - I don’t have notifications set up! Ideally I’d like to sell as pair just given one is harder to sell. If you don’t end up finding one to buy and become desperate then reach out to me at Caleb110791@gmail.com and we can work something out:

I have play in both my front wheel bearings found while replacing the brake pads and rotor.. what is the tolerance on the dial indicator ? My wheel bearing feel really smooth I hope it’s just needs a repack but I also stated to hear a humming sound from the right front not too long ago

Wheel bearing play should be 0.02 - 0.04 mm per manual. I got mine to barely be .02mm and honestly it just felt good.

Why did you cut out key parts of the process? If it was difficult, then that's probably what others want to see!

I decided right before doing so that a video representation of my post on the sprinter source post might be helpful. I don’t have the best camera set up so I was holding my phone for most of it too lol. Also to clarify, I did not cut out any footage - this was all the footage I had. All to say, watching it back through I feel as though I did a decent job explaining what needed to be done with the video included (ie. Unbolt wheel, unbolt caliper, unbolt rotor, pull off bearing, punch here, punch there, grease here, grease there). Lastly, it was not that difficult - you got this! I’m a visual learner so I def hear you in that the full process would have been awesome, but alas this was all I could provide!
