@@HalfThrottleTom Thanks for the answer. I have a 2013 with 1,331,000 miles and within the last year just started getting rusty on the doors. I also put two layers of kilmat on the front floor, it's more of a vibration/noise dampener. Appreciate your hard work!

@@Coronado-nz7wu no problem sir, my doors are rusty as well. I did clean the rust and paint it with some rust reformer paint, but the rust is still there and spreading. My next step will be new doors, or cutting the rust out, and welding new metal.

You can check it out if you like. Of course there is days when I don’t do all the steps one after another to check everything. But I try my best to check if the truck is safe to drive.

I don’t see no difference in driving, except the flat face wheels sticks out a little more than regular wheels (almost 2” on each side) because they have different offset. Because of that, when I hit a ruts in the road I can feel it on the steering wheel.

How do you remove the air filter?

Remove the engine air filter box cover located in the side of the air box. There is 6 T25 or T30 torx bits screws holding it. Remove all 6 screws, take cover off, air filter is sitting inside. Pull the old filter out, push new one in the same place. Put cover back on, put all 6 screws back in place. You good to go.

The exact same one is inserted inside the bumper part and they are already connected to each other with rivets. Hey Sergey, this is simply Automatic Transmission Fluid. I do it from time to time, and winter time I’m adding some diesel conditioner and ani gel.

@@Sergey_Bryansk The 2 stroke oil works similar to ATF (automatic transmission fluid) lubricates fuel system. I’m not sure about the diesel freezing temp. But we do have the same here in northern USA at fuel distribution centers. They put something in diesel in winter time to prevent form gelling.

The best rule of thumb is at 0f or -18c I put in regular fuel additive. In the northern states, the truck stops add that to the fuel. But the warmer southern states don’t. So every time I fuel in the south, I add the anti-gel. When it gets around-20f or-30c I add an anti-gel called 911. It will keep you running. Make sure to carry about 4 fuel filters. If you have bad diesel it will clog them up.

And yes, we do have automatic weigh and dimensions check just before almost every scale station, if not before all of them. But I think this weigh in motion system giving them approximate measurements. At least when it comes to axle load. Not sure about dimensions, but they do have devices to see, if your truck and trailer does have brake malfunction. We do have mobile teams with mobile scales as well, I’m. It sure about this overweight automatic tickets 😆 even when you drive empty, this is crazy, at least this have never happened to me.

@@HalfThrottleTom The overweight of the empty truck was due to a malfunction of the automatic weighing station. But the very fact that drivers received a fine for “overweight” outraged them. It seems that the prosecutor's office carried out an investigation into this fact and the fines were cancelled. I haven't heard of such facts lately. I’m not sure how much Volvo dealer is asking for it, but I bought it online /aftermarket/ and you can get the headlights as cheap as $200 a pair, and fog lights $60 a pair.

Hi Sergey. I think price wise, one super single tire cost about the same as 2 regular tires. For example, my Michelin X-One Line Grip 445/50 R22.5 cost around $1600, when one Michelin 275/80 R225 cost around $800. Here in the states super singles are popular, but I don’t think people like them. Especially owner operators 😀. So in Russia you mostly use dual tires? Even on trailers? In Europe, I think most of semi trailers have 3 axles with super singles on it. But tractor have duals on the drive axle.

There are also ones like yours, where the axles have paired wheels on each side, but there are fewer of them than the European type. On the trailer is the Russian brand "Kordiant". Some people ride on tires from well-known brands, but Chinese tires are gaining more and more popularity. If not the cheapest, then they are of normal quality. On my car I also have Chinese tires brand "Delinte". Excellent tires for the price.

@@HalfThrottleTom Thanks for the answer. I have a 2013 with 1,331,000 miles and within the last year just started getting rusty on the doors. I also put two layers of kilmat on the front floor, it's more of a vibration/noise dampener. Appreciate your hard work!
@@Coronado-nz7wu no problem sir, my doors are rusty as well. I did clean the rust and paint it with some rust reformer paint, but the rust is still there and spreading. My next step will be new doors, or cutting the rust out, and welding new metal.
I love how these drivers do a pre trip no lights on no turn signals on no brake light check didn’t check to see if air lines dragging didn’t look under the trailer neither not even checking the truck just because your tires has air not the end of the pretrip
@@dannyrichardson6319 You totally right Danny, but I wasn’t showing my pre trip inspection in this video, in fact I’m not showing what I do during my pre trip inspection in any of this videos except one. You can check it out if you like. Of course there is days when I don’t do all the steps one after another to check everything. But I try my best to check if the truck is safe to drive.

I don’t see no difference in driving, except the flat face wheels sticks out a little more than regular wheels (almost 2” on each side) because they have different offset. Because of that, when I hit a ruts in the road I can feel it on the steering wheel.

Tom, hi. I see you are adding oil to the tanks again). If you are interested, compare oil for two-stroke engines and ATF based on flash point. In Russia, they differ in price from the same manufacturer by almost two times. ATF is more expensive.
Hello Sergey. Here in US the price is about the same. For 1 gallon of 2 stroke oil you have to pay around $20. Same with ATF 👍🏼

How do you remove the air filter?
Remove the engine air filter box cover located in the side of the air box. There is 6 T25 or T30 torx bits screws holding it. Remove all 6 screws, take cover off, air filter is sitting inside. Pull the old filter out, push new one in the same place. Put cover back on, put all 6 screws back in place. You good to go.

I got different Volvo before and it was exactly like this what I have right now. Actually I had a problem with one of the bumper corner before. Because of vibration, it separated from the inner part.

The exact same one is inserted inside the bumper part and they are already connected to each other with rivets. It’s strange, but I received a response that it was impossible to send the letter because the address I specified was not active. The address is the one to which I sent photos of the car earlier.

Do bobtail trucks handle worse in the wind than a truck with a loaded trailer 🤔 I ask because I see today several semi trucks without trailers driving much slower than loaded trucks in the same conditions. It was very windy, I was all over the road in my little trailblazer.
Yeah. I don’t like to bobtail when windy. Pulling empty trailer is even worse in my opinion. Heavy loaded trailer is best when windy.

I like to sometimes try out the VNL in ATS just to torture myself. The GPS phone blocks my view of the left hood mirror. And the windshield wiper blocks my right mirror. I have VR so I can crane my head to see. But tinkering with the seat position just makes it worse.

Hey Sergey, this is simply Automatic Transmission Fluid. I do it from time to time, and winter time I’m adding some diesel conditioner and ani gel.
@@HalfThrottleTom I poured oil for two-stroke engines into the tank, or in winter I poured in a special anti-gel additive, when the cold weather began and winter diesel fuel had not yet appeared at gas stations. In the USA, is there a freezing temperature rating for diesel fuel?
@@Sergey_Bryansk The 2 stroke oil works similar to ATF (automatic transmission fluid) lubricates fuel system. I’m not sure about the diesel freezing temp. But we do have the same here in northern USA at fuel distribution centers. They put something in diesel in winter time to prevent form gelling.
The best rule of thumb is at 0f or -18c I put in regular fuel additive. In the northern states, the truck stops add that to the fuel. But the warmer southern states don’t. So every time I fuel in the south, I add the anti-gel. When it gets around-20f or-30c I add an anti-gel called 911. It will keep you running. Make sure to carry about 4 fuel filters. If you have bad diesel it will clog them up.

New manifold option would be from pre EGR D12 motor. But I don’t know if they are the same. Welding? I think this is cast iron, it would crack. I like the triple turbo option with propane tank best 😆👍🏼

Don’t you have automatic weight and dimensional control stations, when you simply drive over a section of the road with overhangs and cameras, and they automatically weigh you and measure the dimensions of your cargo? In Russia, we mostly have such stations automatic, and we also have mobile teams from transport supervision, which have mobile scales and devices for monitoring cargo dimensions. We periodically have problems due to automation, that is, you can get a fine for being overweight when the body is empty, but such a fine can be challenged and canceled.

But I think this weigh in motion system giving them approximate measurements. At least when it comes to axle load. It sure about this overweight automatic tickets 😆 even when you drive empty, this is crazy, at least this have never happened to me.

It seems that the prosecutor's office carried out an investigation into this fact and the fines were cancelled. I haven't heard of such facts lately. Hey Sergey, thanks my friend. Here in the States those lights are pretty cheap, there is a lot of different manufacturers who make them, I assume Chinese. I’m not sure how much Volvo dealer is asking for it, but I bought it online /aftermarket/ and you can get the headlights as cheap as $200 a pair, and fog lights $60 a pair.
@@HalfThrottleTom I don’t know why, but our headlights are expensive. I was able to find a Chinese-made right headlight for example for $193, a fog light for $254. I think the price is the same for the left side. The locally made fiberglass bumper costs $405, which I think is a good price.

Hi Sergey. I think price wise, one super single tire cost about the same as 2 regular tires. For example, my Michelin X-One Line Grip 445/50 R22.5 cost around $1600, when one Michelin 275/80 R225 cost around $800. Here in the states super singles are popular, but I don’t think people like them. Especially owner operators 😀. So in Russia you mostly use dual tires? Even on trailers? In Europe, I think most of semi trailers have 3 axles with super singles on it. But tractor have duals on the drive axle.
@@HalfThrottleTom In Russia, trailers are mostly European, or made by us, but they are made according to the European design, with three axles at the back, with one wheel per side. There are also ones like yours, where the axles have paired wheels on each side, but there are fewer of them than the European type. And on tractors there are almost 100% paired wheels on the drive axles.

On the trailer is the Russian brand "Kordiant". Some people ride on tires from well-known brands, but Chinese tires are gaining more and more popularity. If not the cheapest, then they are of normal quality. On my car I also have Chinese tires brand "Delinte". Excellent tires for the price.
