Hello! I have a young Catasetum orchid and I replanted it, one leaf started to turn yellow, but I noticed that it has two growths. The question is, should I water it until the growths develop or not?

Neem oil and dish detergent itself did work for me! I just mixed rubbing alcohol and neem oil, peppermint oil and water in a bottle and spray everyday to every other day.

There is one of the two more common virus that is not killed by alcohol. Get a small propane torch and flame the scissors
what's the difference in color between gaskelliana and lueddemanniana? i was once in an orchid greenhouse that had a very cold shade of lavender cattleya that might have been one or the other.

I love my orchids and have been growing(actually kept alive) for a lil over a year switched to water culture a month ago and it's been amazing for my orchids! but I have come to realize I sell my seedlings because I don't like waiting 4-5 years to see a flower IF you can keep it alive that long. I may get a flask to sell the seedlings idk I love orchids so its hard to sell even the tiny ones

How long does it take for them to emerge? Also, does it happen early morning?? I’ve had so many chrysalises and have yet to see one emerge or see the butterfly. I find the empty chrysalis but not butterflies. I’m curious if I missed it or something ate them. I have tons of monarchs and they are slow and steady. I always know when they’re going to hatch, have seen them hatch and they even stick around the garden for a few hours afterwards. In perplexed. I had two that were ready to go and even set my alarm early to see if I could catch it, nothing was happening. Went back out an hour or two later and it was empty 😩

so you dont have any trouble with tap water (or are you on well water?) the reason I asked is I was always under the impression that orchids cant take the chemicals in tap water? (by the way great video thanks for the info on the lava rock)

I have a monierara Millenium magic, it only has one small pseudobulb and it has been dormant for 4 months now and I still haven't seen any new growth,,, any tips on how i could wake it up from dormancy? I'm from the Philippines

I live in South East Queensland Australia and found a pink version of the Spiranthes growing at my place. I was super excited to have found a wild orchid and be able to identify it because of the spiral growth habit.
I had been looking for an alternative to sphag n bag so I’m happy to have found this video. You’ll have to make up a new name for this method of orchid recovery because it’s brilliant. I had done something similar many times in the past but totally forgotten about it until just now. I’ve also grown new plants from my old cymbidium back bulbs. I just hope I live long enough to see them flower. Great video, thanks for the useful information.
