    Ginastera é um mestre e conhece, como poucos, como tirar partido e timbres do piano. Uma obra incrivelmente bem escrita e, nesta gravação, magistralmente interpretada

    Messiaen is a brilliant reflection of an era. It’s a phantom asteroid who returns to set his sights on sound art. A stupendous wave laden with paradoxes from which obscurantism and the irrational escape, hypnotic factors defying vulnerable souls in search of the infinity. His musical architecture is a translucid and short tunnel that leads to light 🤗🤠🥸

    Still’s music has so much heart, but that doesn’t mean it also isn’t brilliant. There are so many good contrapuntal moments in the symphonies that also use gorgeous melodies. Thanks for posting!

    The crazy thing is that Messiaen could improvise music of equal quality to the Vingt Regards on the organ. There are recordings to prove it. He would announce a title and then the music would just happen.

    I never got why you put like chapter name descriptions, cos I like to form my own opinions clean-slate, you know? I mean you could have the same thing just not be a chapter name…just a two cents! Have long patronized your channel.

  • @Cmaj7
    @Cmaj76 күн бұрын

    For a long time, I did avoid any descriptions besides just movement numbers and whatever for that reason. I do like the idea of allowing people to make their own opinions of the music. But I realized having the timestamps with some of my personal analysis of the music increases viewer engagement and reach, and several people have told me they like the descriptions. You can see the same effect with Ashish Xiangyi Kumar (separate from Ashish uploading far more well-known music)

  • @portmantonal
    @portmantonal4 күн бұрын

    @@Cmaj7 I personally enjoy the analysis, though when it's a multi-movement work I prefer to have the chapters indicate movements. I remember Ashish does additional info in pinned comments, maybe that would be a way to do both? (Also just my 2 cents; love the videos either way!)

    I was bored after 60 seconds, in spite of the reinvention of the form. Complex timbre and rhythm are not enough to sustain interest. Obviously melody is not much of a concern for Ms. Chin, either. I suppose there is melody, none of it memorable. As far as the pitches are concerned, and resulting harmonies, I found none that were interesting.

    Takemitsu's music doesn't really fit that description to me. It feels really natural, beautiful, and kind of mystical. Most of his music is relaxing. Check out Star-Isle or A String Around Autumn if you haven't heard them.
