I am a farmer in Northern Alberta, Canada. I made this KZread channel to show people from around the world what it is like to farm In northern Canada. Subscribe and come along for the ride and view my daily activities as I get the work done that needs to be done. See How the Hot summers and cold nights affect crops to the cold winters and how we manage with that.

Oi 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Hey Tyson alberta. I'm getting rid of some equipment and steel. I used to rent out bombardiers. I'm looking to get rid of a lincoln SA200 welder would you be interested. Like a farmer use it than it go to scrap. Get ahold of of me through email.
we have 10 inch spacing on a seedhawk and 12 in on a seed master.. no difference on yield on cereals and canola but peas is a bit worse on dry years with the 12
Crops look good up there, we have been a little dry and cold the last couple weeks around our area. Some places catching timely showers but not general rain.
Did you get him with the ole 22 lol
My neighbour did
What'd you use?
Only 992 left to get rid of……….. 😆😂🤣👍🍻. Furry little buggers cause so much damage.
Started chopping down trees in the yard
@@Northern_Farmer sounds about right. Had one dam last summer flood 40 acres of pasture.
Thanks for the crop tour. I briefly worked one winter in the Peace country in the early 90’s. I was amazed at the beauty of the place. I’d love to see it again.
My pleasure
Now is that a common problem with dug outs Tyson
Sometimes
You better get a new windscreen we would get a big fine for having a cracked screen cheers Bundaberg Australia
Taking a nap
Bloat float...been dead for a bit.
Shot it the night before
@@Northern_Farmerthat adds up.
@@Northern_Farmer you know it’s against the law to fire gun at night, right?🙄
@@davescouten7813 no it's not
@@Northern_Farmer it is here, Ontario😂
Eaglesham is Way Out There.
Not really
Great trip. Thanks for the crop reports.
Glad you enjoyed it
Thank for the video, Tyson - great to see what's going on in the area around you. Makes for a relaxing time to go for a road trip and enjoy looking around! Happy Canada Day to you and the family😀
Thanks 👍
Nice trip thanks for taking us along. Enjoyable.
I think what you got to ask yourself is,,, What would Shawn do? LOL.
He would shrug his shoulders
That creeped me out when the spirits of the dead started coming through the trees.
Haha
The removal of gravel from rivers here in NZ is the same but as rivers flood more gravel is deposited along the river banks and flooding gets worse so if some gravel was removed it would help in flood prone areas, I'm no expert but a bit of common sense regards gravel removal would help and leave less scares on the landscape.
When has governments ever had common sense? LOL!
Thanks for the commentary and taking us along Tyson .
Canola as silage can test nearly as well as grain . A few years back I tubewrapped rounds that were nearly 1000 kg . The crop was frosted at flowering .
My pleasure!!
Nice scenery down that way thanks for the rid along
No problem
I wonder if your soil will improve after a few years of no tilling. It might be hard the first year of no tilling, but after a few years it might get better. I dont farm, but thats what I've heard
Buyers fee of 15 percent sometimes. Same your way???
Yes..but depends on how much you spend...I think it's 12 percent under 5000
Beautiful country
Awesome video Tyson, hope the crops are doing great. Make some more videos of cruising around chatting and looking at the beautiful northern Alberta scenery, I really enjoyed it and miss Alberta.
I'll try
That’s a straight road nice Good video
I get a kick out of people saying they won at an auction. They actually were willing to pay more than anyone else was not sure if that’s winning???
Well won the item I guess lol
👍👍
Another great video!!
Thanks again!
With the weather patterns changing now i can see it being a real challenge in the future for farmers .Unfortunately a lot of farmers anywhere close to Toronto are selling off their land for development . Doesn’t help either that the government has decided to build the new hwy 413 on prime farmland
Yea...loosing good land
thanks for the crop tour and I was at the Wanham plowing match 40 years ago.
I haven't ever been yet
I’ll take to much rain over not enough any day at least the cows have lots of grass and water
Me to
Good savings on those supplies you needed
Great ride along, enjoyed seeing more of Alberta.
No problem
I enjoyed seeing more of the areas around your farm! Thanks Tyson!
Welco
In my area of central Alberta they do tar the cracks in the roads. But they started to only fill the small ones and leave all the big cracks to break out the roads. Yet when the guy measures with the measuring wheel the cracks they fill to know what to charge the government. They always measure the big cracks they never filled.🙄
Usually when they measure it out...that's Crack filling with the rock tar mix...and fir some reason they do that a year or 2 before repaving
According to some research i read years ago the best row spacing for wheat is 5 inches. Hopefully your canola on the edges of where you missed the rows will grow big and bushy and help make up for the misses
Interesting video Tyson thank you
Thanks for the trip 😊😊😊
If you use a 3-4 year rotation I’ve seen where the volunteer canola will fill in the gaps. Good luck 👍 You only need one plant per sq. yard to make a crop.
They say 5 per sq ft
How many bales can you get from a roll of net wrap?
I can get around 250 to 270
Thanks for another great video Tyson.
My pleasure!!
If you were in europe you would have passed through 2 or 3 countries...
Haha yup
Just wondering if that was a Peace River valley bridge you crossed over or not? Thanks.
Yes it was.. well the peace river yes
@@Northern_Farmer Nice drive, looked like you actually crossed the Smoky River at Watino.
@@Northern_Farmer okay. 👍
@glennheath6150 your are correct...that's what I mentioned to say
@@duncanmcleish3683 it's actually the bug smokey river
Thanks for the ride along and countryside tour. Great snag with the net wrap
Yea not bad
Sure is pretty there.
👍
Thanks for trip Tyson
Any time!
Tyson at an auction you are willing to pay more than anyone else in the world . that isn't winning . lol
It's nice when you want things more than anyone else.
But it's the satisfaction that you beat the other guy with money lol
