    we have 10 inch spacing on a seedhawk and 12 in on a seed master.. no difference on yield on cereals and canola but peas is a bit worse on dry years with the 12

    Crops look good up there, we have been a little dry and cold the last couple weeks around our area. Some places catching timely showers but not general rain.

    The removal of gravel from rivers here in NZ is the same but as rivers flood more gravel is deposited along the river banks and flooding gets worse so if some gravel was removed it would help in flood prone areas, I'm no expert but a bit of common sense regards gravel removal would help and leave less scares on the landscape.

    With the weather patterns changing now i can see it being a real challenge in the future for farmers .Unfortunately a lot of farmers anywhere close to Toronto are selling off their land for development . In my area of central Alberta they do tar the cracks in the roads. But they started to only fill the small ones and leave all the big cracks to break out the roads. Yet when the guy measures with the measuring wheel the cracks they fill to know what to charge the government. They always measure the big cracks they never filled.🙄

  • @Northern_Farmer
    @Northern_FarmerКүн бұрын

    Usually when they measure it out...that's Crack filling with the rock tar mix...and fir some reason they do that a year or 2 before repaving

    According to some research i read years ago the best row spacing for wheat is 5 inches. Hopefully your canola on the edges of where you missed the rows will grow big and bushy and help make up for the misses
