Really enjoy the ride alongs in your field! I can almost smell the hay. The only thing missing is a gallon jug of iced tea and George Strait playing in the background. But the sound of the big diesel engines will do as well.

Welcome to the club guys.. summer #5 of drought down here.. were lucky to get a half crop. Good grass hay in small bales is from $10 to $40 a bale. I've seen $450/ton😳 I like the segmented cutter bars! But yes, pain in the ass checking oil!

We had a hell of a drought here in south central IN but are pretty much out of it now. The downside to that however is all the rain has come in the form of some pretty severe thunderstorms. 2 farms north of me, one at almost exactly 3 miles got wiped out by a tornado March 31st.

@@nellsonstout7001 that sucks! We usually have 3"-6" in June.. 2"-3" in July. May is usually 3"-10"... First of May we had 1.5"... June 1st we got 7/10".. and it's the fifth year of no summer rain.

Here in Michigan we're dry also. The worst part can watch the storms come across lk Michigan and when they hit land they break up.

We got a .5 inch today finally. Hope and pray that all of our farmers get the weather they need to make a good crop. Some places are dry some places the water won't shot off.

What sucks more is we had 6 inches in 8 days just east of Edmonton in mid - end of June. And he probably didn't get much of that :( I know its about 300km away. But you would think a weather front that lasts 8 days long would cover greater area.

I’m in west central Missouri, our first cut was about 1/3 of normal. Last year we were at 1800 first cut. This year only 600.

Looks like the 2594’s duals are stomping the grass down a bit before entering the mower. Does the cutter bar manage to cut that sliver or would that represent a tiny loss?

About the same here on average. Drove over to Fairview through the back way through deer hill. It was absolutely dismal over there. Hoppers got everything. Bet some of that hay wasn’t a 1/4 bale an acre. Demo’d a macdon discbine today. Really nice machine compared to my JD.

@@Northern_Farmer went to Fairview to try it out. Sure tempted to trade this newer jd discbine off on it. Bugger broke down again this afternoon, 4 years old and now we are repeating breakdowns that we had under warranty.

@@Northern_Farmer driveline again, always driveline it seems. The clutch this time. Changed two years ago. Had lots of techs out, everything from the tractor to the set up checks out, but something just isn’t right it seems.

That sucks having a meager hay crop. If you end up short will you sell a few animals, buy hay or suppliment with grain/straw/screenings?

No expert but i think your cutting bar is out of time each turtle should be 90 degrees from the one on the left and right... Might have been camera angle
