The water on our pastures has dried up with the drought....Digging a new pond to fill up with water.

Same problem. Ran out of water, dug a couple holes a month ago, but this 3 inches of rain filled them a third up. So I could quit pumping water out of a muskeg lake into troughs once a day. Always a fight of some sort. They have lots of grass there so I was reluctant to move them.

Thanks for the video, Tyson. That's a good looking pond and should really help water the cattle. You dug it at a great time before the rain came. I think that getting out of the excavator when there is lightning nearby is a good idea! Pretty powerful stuff! Have a great week! 😀

Glad to see you all finally got rain, it rained here in eastern Pennsylvania for weeks straight! We finally finished first and second cut all in the same week lol And I believe I had seen the back of the 4994 in the yard in the beginning of the video! Hoping to see a video of that Beauty!! Good to see the water hole filling up!! Rain, what's that?? So damn dry here, the weeds don't even want to grow.. But it's been good for making hay, just gotta bale early in the morning, before it gets too dry to make a bale. Lightning and tracked machines don't mix well..

If a crane hits a high power line the worker on the ground gets electrocuted and the operator is usually ok. At the museum of science in Boston Ma.if your hit by lightening there is a thing called the cage effect, as long as you don’t reach outside the cage you will not be electrocuted. In your case the cab is your cage, so if you ever hit a power line stay inside the cab.

Yes. A Faraday cage. If the equipment (hoe) is properly grounded then all that metal is to its advantage in carrying a lightning strike safely to earth without harming anyone/anything within the cage. It's safer than being on foot nearby.

Little or no pasture is a big problem but no water makes for a large amount of work. Hauling water to cows is nothing but work. Hope u get enough rain to at least rejuvenate some grass

U need to try to divine for water. I can do it I just use weldin rods. Bend them over. Just hold them slack in ur hands an walk about wer u think Ther cud b spring an if they cross over it shud b a spring. But with me the rods spin like helicopter an if they just cross it’s normally a water pipe. That’s the best way to test if u can do it. Go to somewer wer u no tber is a water pipe an walk over it an if they cross u can do it. Not everyone can do it. I am the only one in my house can do it

That looks like a pretty new machine. Why are your bucket and stick so sloppy side to side? Pin bushings worn out? My hoe doesn't wiggle at all like that and it has some battle scars.
