  @@RetroFotoHouse Thank for your response. YEs it was the wrong adapter. With full frame sensor the flange distance are not the same. With a standard adapter you don't have enough distance from the lens to the sensor. So you need a bigger one. It called: NON-SLR. Or just a large. Need to make distance that is the goal. Without it, it's impossible to focus. Now it's working and it's a crazy lens. Got the first one. Thx!

  Triangle aperture has triangle BOKEH. It's very dirty BOKEH. Therefore we need to use it f1.4 to f2. Out of f1.4 to f2 aperture make you feel disappointed.

  Hi! Question: I have the type 1 lens, does it come apart the same way as helios lenses? Helicoid unscrews from the bottom, counterclock wise? I can't unscrew mine, but wanted to check before I break something :) My aperture ring has weird movement and "bumps", wanted to check and clean it. Thx!

  Many say Helios 44-2 is good , better then 44M-4 because it has more aperture blades , gives better balls . But i dont take picture of balls , 44M , latter variant is better design for pictures , 44 has declicked aperture , but a ring is too small and focusing ring is in the back , where on 44M aperture clicks and focus ring is where it should be in the front . On top of that picture in the middle is the same , but 44 is inferior without zooming in , at 33% you can see how sharper is 44M . Also has coatings . Now someone wants declicked aperture for film , and someone like balls , and someone likes having no coating for it introduces color change or shift . But bottom line , for me for pictures , general family photos , 44M-4 is better . I dont see 44M-4 here on the video but as far as my experience goes , that one is the best for me ,

  I recently acquired the Valdai (Type 7 from your video). It is silver, and has very little wobble in the mount and no oil. I believe it has been modified, as it has 16 blade aperture (not 8, not 13). So far it has performed as expected. Mostly used for portrait and macro work. Excellent video.

  yes, modified. Valdai never produced silver version. I think it was just polished.

  don't disassemble it if it is stuck with grease. Just put a few drops of lighter fluid in and along the ring to dissolve the old grease. faster, better, cheaper, and safer option

  What annoys me the most is that nowadays every brand uses proprietary lenses, and since i can use my ef canon lenses on nearly every other brand with an adapter and still autofocus it’s only an excuse that they couldn’t make a standard mounting. M42 was great , in our Photoclub whatever camera brand you had you could exchange lenses with each other as needed ,someone had a lens that you could use and simply borrow from him and he borrowed one from you without anyone needing to go broke.
