I probably can walk around on a boat now, but climbing on the catamaran was always dangerous with no stairs and no safety railings. A fall is the one thing that could set me back to zero again, so it will probably be a month or two before I try working on it again. There is a lot of climbing on and off every day when I work on it.

I'm so sorry to hear about your fall. Hopefully it didn't set you back too far. Thanks for the warning. I keep wanting to climb back onto the catamaran, but that was dangerous even without a bum leg. I think its another month at least before I try climbing back on there.

You can use a HIGH amperage rc brushless speed control to run the motor. just remove all the torqeedo boards in the pod. Trust me it will work. but you will need a new back cap that contains the seals. new o-rings as well.

Thanks! I have to work at therapy 110% because going to the Bahamas is the only thing on my bucket list. Its amazing how many people are involved in caring for me. I broke my leg at just the right time. I turned 66 just eight months ago, so medicare pays for my therapy. If I did this just a year ago, I would have been totally screwed. I hope we get medicare for everyone soon. The only other countries where medical care isn't a basic human right, call their political leaders "warlord".

I'm so sorry to hear about your injury. When the surgeons get you put back together, you have to work 110% in therapy even though it hurts and is physically exhausting. My surgeon was honest when I pressed him on my prognosis. He said most people with an injury like mine (broken femur) never recover 100%. The harder you work at therapy, the more use of the leg you will recover. This is really important if you need to keep your footing on a boat that is pitching around in big waves. I hope you recover enough to use the boat at least as much as before.

We are all wondering when we can sneak over and brake you out of there ? Were thinking, (1) We could dress up like a bunch of sexy nurses (sexy term used very loosely) and push you out the back door on a gurney into a waiting van... (2) We could dress you up like a sexy nurse🤔 No, that will never work... (3) We could dress up like aliens from another planet and do the UFO abduction thing for you. You`ll have to act all scared and put up a little protest as we elevate you into our spacecraft. Except, we don`t have the elevating thing down yet. The spacecraft... Check ! A side benefit to this idea, is they will think your gone forever and not bother sending you the bill. We know you want to walk out of there on your own and we respect that wish but the gang here at the sanatorium miss you very much and are looking for an excuse to break outta here for a few hours so you let us know what you wanna do. Sending you all the the love, support and unstable thoughts we can muster.

My opinions, for what they're worth: 1. Look into Condroitin-Sulfate supplements to rebuid bone and cartilage - Jello is a cheap substitue 2. Exercise to build quadricep strength and body build to keep all parts of the body strong and elastic 3. Work to improve your flexibility to loosen up and resist getting stiffer that you have allowed your body to become 4. Never give up! You were born for the seas and adventure!!!!!!!!!!! Cheers!

When I was young dangerous stuff was cars that went over 100mph, playing with guns, and pretty girls with with big boy friends. Now dangerous stuff is flip flops/crocs, throw rugs, and wet tile. I have about given up on standing in a rocking boat. Speedy recover to you. Once I had someone who could not climb back aboard a the boat so she stood on the cavitation plate on the motor, then we raised the trim/tilt on the motor and she was able to step into the splashwell. Not ideal, but worked in a pinch.
