    The 6'5 over 240lb owner give us a little history with the purchase of his 1997 top of the line Maxima. For his test drive he was accompanied by 4 Japanese Nissan technicians on the performance & it's ability to move weight quickly. The demonstration of the overdrive selector engaged at 67 mph that car has some serious freeway performance for the time.

    There's been rumour circulating that Ford might bring this back to Oz, and I personally think it would be great if they do, economical and lots of physical buttons in a vehicle that looks pretty cool too.

    That’s great I also heard from someone who works on Ford Fleet vehicles saying the Ecoboost engines have proven to be pretty good for what it is. I know new cars come with warranties but it’s nice to know vehicle won’t just sit in the shop all day

    All I can say on the performance in. I got a ride in 1997 Maxima from the original owner from rancho Cucamonga ca to 6 flags magic mountain. Back in 03. Mind you the weight of 5 passengers & myself. The combined weight including the driver 6'5 almost a thousand pound I'm sure of passenger wait. This car torque to get the car moving was impressive.

    In my opinion the Badlands is the only one worth looking at since it has the 4 cylinder.

    Yea my friend but that price is too much for what it is. Try this 3 cylinder out it’s def good for street driving

    @@MeynMotorGroup I see things differently because I always go for used cars. I'm expecting car prices, and especially used car prices to come down significantly in the next 6 to 12 months. There are already a good number of used 4 cylinder bronco sports under $30k. Already the 4 cylinder is around $27k, and the 3 cylinder is around $22k, each in the 30k mile range. I'd go ahead and get the 4 cylinder at those price diffences.

  • @MeynMotorGroup
    @MeynMotorGroupСағат бұрын

    @@goatmonkey2112 the problem with those used prices is you can simply just get a new one at those same prices… You probably didn’t watch until the end but new ones are being discounted heavily if not less than the prices you quoted because new ones qualify for incentives on top of dealer discount. (There’s also 25k of these on dealer lots new nationwide) Same story pre pandemic as well. If you’re going to buy used you have to buy like a $5k-$10k car otherwise new with 0 miles and full warranty + discounts is the way to go. 30k miles also is not an insignificant amount of miles and not as low as many think. Aside from that your depreciation is now starting at 30k miles vs a new one starting at 0 miles which cost the same as your used Bronco if not a grand or two more. Don’t even have to mention higher interest rates with used cars. As you can see the savings with used practically doesn’t exist but many still believe in the concept of buying used to save on depreciation. There’s very few used cars worth buying and there’s always a new car alternative that’s better purchase regardless. But that’s just my thoughts. God Bless my friend.

    Look around, the world is not interested in making things that last. It’s our job as consumers to learn proper methods to hedge ourselves from depreciation and repairs. Which I cover in great details in literally every vid.

    I have a 2015 tlx with the awd. I also have the same issue with the vehicle throwing itself into a lower gear as im coming to a stop. Took it into acura & they also recommended & performed the same thing. Transmission fluid change & software/reprogramming update. The vehicle still feels the same & am only at 52k miles.

    I think I know which one you looked at it's up here in Medford Oregon. Going for 17,000. I was at the LA auto show back in 03 when this vehicle was on display a burnt orange 🍊 in color. 20 years old back then. 20 years messing with Lincoln Mark 7 & 8 I do believe I'm ready for one now. Good information given about everything .

    I think that the Camry is a better value like you said, but as someone who used to live in a major city, I can see where the Corolla might be more appealing.. my former major city used to have smaller lanes and tight parking (I squeezed my Elantra in some places a car that's 20 inches longer like a Camry might not). I do however think the Corolla should be priced cheaper, but I guess that's the way now? I don't know about reliability but I saw they sell Chevrolet Trax for lower 20k and they look nice inside and out 😂. Have a great weekend Kevin

    After a drunk driver totaled my 05 Honda Accord I was going for a TSX or TL, Found my 08 TL for the right price <3 Still running strong at 180k miles and planning on swapping from auto to manual once the transmission goes out. Honestly the Acura TL is the best bang for your buck and it's a good looking car overall.

    Anyone else had an issue with the brake actuator? I had one already replaced after 3 years, thankfully under warranty otherwise it would be around $3k. The brake started making a squaking noise after around 30k miles and just got worse. I was also feeling non linear braking as the actuator deteriorated.

    I think there is definitely a use case for the Corolla (sedan or hatch), for those who are just more comfortable in a smaller form factor. A great example many can see is older couples getting a RAV4 or CRV. But there are people of all ages who are more comfortable in a subcompact in a city. Ignoring the crazy market we are living in, the Camry is obviously a better value.

  • @MeynMotorGroup
    @MeynMotorGroupКүн бұрын

    Very true my friend many especially in the city would prefer the smaller size of the Corolla as it's physically 10" shorter than a Camry I suppose people can learn to manage but yea great value for sure with a new Camry

    a Corolla hatchback is a subcompact while the Camry is a midsize car 7 in longer in wheelbase than a corolla hatchback and almost 2 ft longer in length a Corolla hatchback is 14.33 ft while a Camry is 16.2 Ft long though the Camry has grown over its production from 175 in in the early years to 182 in in the 90s to 189 in the mid 2000s to 194 in long now. granted cars fluctuate in size from generation to generation sometimes significantly I.E. a Cadillac Deville shrunk more than 2 ft from its 6th gen to its 7th from 18.42 Ft to 16 1/4 ft there are some import luxury cars that don't have to follow corporate Average Fuel Economy rules because they didn't exist when the rules went into affect in 1978 such as Acura infinity and Lexus which debuted for the 1986 and 1990 model years respectively though some Lexus's have the luxury tax depending on their sticker price ex the LC 500 Convertible starts at 107,300 so has the 10% Luxury tax same as some trims of the Corvette do or the Cadillac CT5 V Blackwing

    As stated by other reviewers, cars depreciate but maintenance costs increase so one has to be prepared for this with any used high end car. Also, all of these reviews quote the price of Bentley service, when a good Indy, plus getting Audi/VW OEM parts without the Bentley logo or even doing certain repairs yourself, can reduce costs significantly. I have a 2006 GT with 23,000 miles and an extremely capable independent shop five miles down the road and would never have bought my Bentley without checking with them first. Having been stiffed once on an extended warranty scam, I keep an interest generating reserve fund for car and boat repairs beyond normal maintenance. No way am I going to pay >US$7,000 for a warranty with lots of small print. Basically, if you can't budget for the unexpected, you are taking a risk, but driving one of these beauties around makes it worth it to me and this advice to always get a warranty is often just not the best option. Also do the same with our Range Rover, another car with the same reputation, but also maintained by the same Indy, and well worth it when you drive one.

    I looked at a 2024 Corolla XSE hatchback and I really wanted to like it so I could buy it. But it has a fatal flaw. The trunk space is so tiny that I could not use it if I wanted to go grocery shopping or if I wanted to take a trip. The closest thing I can compare this trunk to is the overhead bin on a plane. You cannot fit one full size suitcase into that trunk.
