Another great video! I purchased a 2024 SR5 Premium in February. I had a 21 Corolla, but wanted something bigger. I also went from a 60 mile to a 10 mile round trip commute every day, so the fuel economy of a small car became much less of a need. Have already taken the 4Runner on a long road trip. You’re absolutely right, it’s a joy to drive. It’s solid, smooth, comfortable, and clearly well built. I’m an old dude at 62, so I’ve purchased many vehicles over the years. I believe this is the best vehicle I’ve owned yet. Better than any American SUV out there, in my opinion. I must admit I’m curious about the 6th gen 4Runner, but my interest doesn’t go beyond that. I’m truly happy with this vehicle! Thanks again for the helpful and well thought out content of your videos!

Massive congrats sir yea I share your same sentiments 5th gen is such a solid feeling machine and very comfortable. Thanks again for your kind words, God Bless!
I picked up a 2024 premium 4wd in underground. The last year in a one year color.

Massive congrats! Yea I love the underground suites the 5th gen really well
Bought my 21 4runner trd pro but I paid msrp for lunar rock. Did balloon finance on it and payments are less than leasing. The residual is insane on them. Mine is 3 years old and I'm getting offers few k below msrp. Likely the 5th gen prices will go up post 6th gen release.

Wise move balloon def has its advantages I’ve never done one tho. TRD Pros are always MSRP so no worries there

@MeynMotorGroup TRD pro can be had for msrp as of recent times. Back in 21,22,23 they were all 5-20k over sticker. Even auto brokers couldn't come close. Trd pro in special color hold value best. We will see what happens in year or 2. If I can get most of my money out if I'll trade in on 6th gen.

@eduardorubio3031 Look at V8 tundra trd pro prices vs msrp prices. You'd be suprised. They do go up in value. My offers went up 10-15% in last week. Offers are slightly less than msrp on 3 year old vehicle.
Thankful everyday that I bought my new SR5 back in January. Best built vehicle I have ever owned and at 67 years old I've owned a bunch. It was a big check to write but well worth it. Great video.
The 4Runner is special. The v6 engine in my 2016 Tacoma, even with its timing chain cover leak is a joy to drive. Great video.

Never getting rid of my 2020 5th Gen. Too much time and fun spent making it mine. The new LC, on the other hand....

How does the strategy of leasing work when you use you car offriad and you have dents and scratches? Would you take a huge hit if you have to fix it at the end of the lease or sell it after 3 years? If you buy a new 4Runner and keep it ten years then you do t care about smaller trail damage. You just leave it and when you sell after ten or twelve years it doesn’t matter much in Terms of price anymore.

But wear and tear protection for an extra $5 a month
*it will be built in Japan right, and do you think this will make the 5th gen 4runners will drop a lot in price on the used market*
@ENTJ47

Minor drop

Someone said the 4Runner's will be made in Japan but I will only believe it when Toyota themselves say it. When New Taco & Tundra dropped, the previous gens immediately went up in value. Same will happen with 5th Gen 4Runners.

Higher trims will still be up there rarer powertrain. Popular power training, plenty of aftermarket support so it'll probably be the same if not a tad more. Mileage and condition will play a big factor like usual.

I would suggest looking at final year (2021) prices on LC200’s. They are STILL going for original MSRP while the LX570’s are about $10k less. I am expecting similar for the 4Runners and GX’s.
@user-tb7rn1il3q

The low mileage 5th Gen 4Rs that are in very good condition will go up in value. There are many people that want the proven model. High mileage rougher 5th Gens with rusty frames will tank in value.
Another great video, and all discussion points valid. One thing not mentioned is Toyota’s latest Gen of “safety aids”. Got my wife a ‘23 RX350 and every time I drive it, the dash yells at me about something without telling me what’s wrong. Some people don’t notice it at all, and some people (🫣) can’t stand it. solid purchase, looking forward to the comparison directly of the new one when one is available for you to review (similar to what you did with your LC500) and to the new GX and Land Cruiser (the LC250’s). Thank you again for all the work you put in on these vids.

I’ll try to film a comparison my friend. Have you tried to go into the settings and reduce the sensitivity of the safety tech? That’s what I always do with new cars I have everything respond as late as possible that solves most issues. I turn off things like lane keep
How's the ride quality of your 4 runner? Is the ride comfortable? Wind noise? Is the cabin quiet? Any interior rattling noise? I am more into luxury ride quality.

I would recommend getting a Pedal Commander. It is easy to install and it wont void your warranty. It really makes the engine come alive.
@MeynMotorGroup

I wouldn’t recommend that leads to unintended acceleration vehicle feels fine as it is

Pedal commander is an absolute game changer
For people , that will finance used , is the 5th gen 4Runner still a good buy or would you recommend something else
@MeynMotorGroup
Ай бұрын
Financing a used vehicle right now at 10-15% interest is an absolute waste. Just buy or lease a new one right now if you want a 5th Gen or buy the cleanest used one with 100k miles for around $15k cash those are your only somewhat financially sound moves regarding the 4Runner.

The way you feel about your current 4runner and the character is has, is exactly how i feel about my 2009 honda civc lx. it might not be a si, but it is just has way more character to drive than a modern car, like a the new camry. Drivers amazing, zero complaints, but its so good , that its boring and lacks character.
@MeynMotorGroup

Almost every old car is like that
Do you have it in the states ;ike we do here in Aus that so long as the vehicle is serviced at a qualified mechanic it doesn't effect your warranty, that way you avoid being f%^ked over by the dealership? Then you only need to go back for warrnty work.
@MeynMotorGroup
Ай бұрын
Yup we got that but the technician has to be approved and qualified not sure how many of these techs bother to get certified to handle new car warranty work but yes it is possible
I know many people are bothered and speculating that the new 4Runner will have a similar 4-cylinder engine to the Tacoma. What are your thoughts on this? People are keeping their bulletproof V6 4Runners for this reason.
@MeynMotorGroup

I wonder, what people were saying when gen 5 was coming out for the first time, did they think that they will stick to their 4th gen?
@MeynMotorGroup
Ай бұрын
No but all good things come to an end and that time is now.
Why do you lease? Consensus appears to be that leasing is not the best financial move
@MeynMotorGroup

Discussed this so many times I just link people to this video now: kzread.info/dash/bejne/lKCJ0NWpoMjLd6Q.htmlsi=Kfybt-lXU-kzMbcH
Mark my words this upcoming Gen6 will be made cheaper but that’s to benefit Toyota (you really need to realize that as fact), as first you may be dazzled by the Gen6 but 12 months later you’ll miss Gen5 quality and simplicity. Definitely I would wait a year or two before buying a Gen6 listen to a lot of reviews.

It’s ok to lease but lease deals suck for first model years
The massive TVs they’re putting on the dashes of these cars make me unreasonably angry. It looks so stupid.
NEVER buy the first two years of a new model. Those are always the ones with the design problems that get corrected in the later years. The best ones are the LAST two model years like the one you already bought.
@MeynMotorGroup

That and the lack of deals when the vehicle initially comes out

@@MeynMotorGroup Don't forget the engine valve failures and hardtop fitment issues in the first round of Broncos and the Eco-boost F150's for the first two years with injection and timing issues. Toyota also had problems with the the first two years of the 2GRFE.
I don't think that Toyota gotta be that stupid. The newer is the better technology and mpg. Your idea is the same one before the 5th gen hasn't come out.

They're not dumb they know exactly what they're doing. They purposefully put out half baked products knowing that brand worshipers will buy anything so they don't need to try.
Toyota cut off Illuminated entry, Lexus Memory and Removed Engine shock tower bracing from RC F since 2023. That's how garbage Lexus Toyota is, let alone the Glue ziptie fix TSB for IS 500 bumper sag. Toyotais going to kill legendary 4Runner for good, buy 5th gen now. I may even Trade my IS 500 for 5th gen after that pathetic bumper fix for my IS 500.

Unhaggle and Carcostcanada can help show you invoice pricing and incentives in Canada GoCarCanada is a broker in Canada but on their site they don't advertise deals or discounts and don't know about their reviews either you will need to research them more. If you become a Super Supporter on the Leasehackr Forum, apparently you can see interest rates and residual values for Canadian Car leases.
