Yes the Type S that I drove was very good but def do a thorough test drive on it because many complained that the 10 speed transmission did not perform great. My test vehicle was fine but something to watch out for. Audis are a bit boring as well but credit where credit is due, they marry together sport and comfort without too many compromises and S5 sportback can be had for some good deals.

Great review !!! When I test drove the rear wheel drive model I was laughing because it wanted to do burn outs all the time I flirted it . Ultimately I choose the TLX Type S because of the better handling , beautiful ride and that amazing ELS Studio sound system it’s really that good .

@@MeynMotorGroup Gotta say I'm still liking what they're doing at Genesis, they seem to be making well rounded, well built machines and if they can address some of the slight negatives that you rightfully pointed out, they really would have some absolute bangers on their hands. TBF I don't think the negatives detract from them on the whole and if it were within my means I'd deffo buy one, but since I'm getting older it would have to be a GV rather than a G just to make it easier on my old crippled ass!

Everything they make looks good, I've never driven one. Kinda ridiculous how all of these manufacturers "charge" for a color. It seems I always want the upcharge color. Hopefully, the paint you pay the upcharge for is a more expensive paint, but I'm doubtful. It's probably a great 2 year old low mile bargain car. The ES is so good, I'm not sure if it makes sense to not at least drive one before you decide. Great review.

These are my favorite kind of reviews you make. I actually like the "old schoolness (not really 😂) of this car. Maybe it's just because its the cars i grew up with I feel like 5w30 helps with longevity of engine, and in my elantra I genuinely preferred cable carplay instead of fumbling with bluetooth settings and it kept my phone charged

I went from the GSF to a G80 5.0 and haven't looked back. It's a FAR more comfortable ride, better equipped, and feels just as fast despite the additional 600lbs. I only wish the exhaust sounded as good as the GSF (nothing a custom exhaust can't fix) but everything else the Genesis has the upper hand. Fuel consumption was also surprisingly better than what I was getting in the GSF. About 23 mpg avg vs 19 mpg on the GSF. And it'll take regular as well unlike the GSF. It's a shame the Hyundai V8 got discontinued, it had potential for more, especially in a smaller platform like the G70 or Stinger. Enjoy the GSF and never let go of it. As I understand it, Lexus is bound to discontinue the 5.0 V8 next year, and it makes sense given that the LC500 and RCF have already gotten the axe in markets outside of the USA.

@@philhenderson3516 Genesis has a nice line of good looking vehicles but as an ex Hyundai Genesis coupe v6 owner I had a terrible experience as a customer and vowed to never own another Hyundai product again. LC500 and RCF will be missed when they’re gone. From my stats out of the ~3000 GSFs nearly 40% have been totaled or running on salvaged titles

had the 21 t6, looked at the 2024 B5 because of how much I LOVED the t6... far less infotainment controls than my 21 had, it did not get along with my pixel 6 (despite both the infotainment and phone being google designed products), and I hate the electonic paddle gearshift (had it in a 2019 s40) vs the stalk my 21 had. drives nicely, great gas mileage, less power than the t6 had, but supposedly more reliable vs the super+TC. Dealership also gave attitude and was trying to shove a color combo i hated on me, or a XC60. long story short, drove the lexus is350, acura tlx s, genesis g70, audi s5, bmw m340i. Narrowed it down to the is350 and the g70 for a variety of reasons. s60 blows all the rest away in rain/snow driving, seat comfort longer term, safety, and short of the levinson system, audio quality ... really hated that the dealership, infotainment (audio controls mainly) and paddle transmission vs stalk killed my love of the car.

I wanted to love this vehicle, but it is really a coupe. There is no back seat room for adults, and the trunk is tiny. I would rather a used GS350 over this vehicle. More versatile, and the depreciation will be less. The turbo V6 will far surpass the performance of the GS350, but reliability? The G70 will be a much better finished vehicle than the stinger, though with less room.

I think the G70 is a pretty reliable car. Haven't read of issues with the turbo V6 engine on the forums. There have been examples of the 3.3T going past 170,000 miles with only regular maintenance so that's reassuring. Their 4 cylinder engines however are a different story...
