My 2020 black edition with a leveling kit has been a blessing. Handsdown the best truck if you drive on any washboard to get to where your going. You'd have a hard time loosing control of these on dirt roads. Bonuses are it fits with room in your garage and a quad fits in the bed with the tailgate down. Traded in a Silverado for this and haven't regretted it.

The Honda Ridgeline is still a good choice tbh because of the platform. It’s basically a Pilot underneath which makes it super easy to live with and it doesn’t feel like a truck. That’s what I love about it. Plus who doesn’t love that 3.5L J35 VTEC V6?? That old Honda V6 is always a gem of an engine. It’s one of the last few Honda vehicles that still use this old V6, but it’s so good. You know it’ll last you years because Honda’s been building this for like over 30 years at this point. And I agree, that ZF 9-speed that was just horrendous when it came out, Honda really did tune the transmission really well so it is much more responsive. I think it’s the best iteration of it.

I’m considering this truck as my next because while my 2020 Frontier gets better hwy mpg at 28-32 it requires constant steering input that gets worse especially as the fuel load lightens. Going to wait to see what 2025 Ridgeline brings as far as changes.

Great informative review. Appreciate the facts you don’t hear anywhere else, like the info on the acoustic glass. You really do offer way more value than any other reviews I’ve seen on the Ridgeline. Thank you!

The only thing keeps me from getting a Ridgeline is its low ground clearance and there is little aftermarket shock/struct-based solutions (vs lift plates) to address that.

You're right about everything being a compromise, if I had this vehicle what I'd do if I knew I was going to be carring a load is put the spare and jack in the back, and that way like you said you have a very capable and comfortable vehicle that can get the job done for you.

Putting the spare tire on the back of the tailgate would be a cool look! I forgot to mention this but another thing I like about this vehicle is the locking tailgate and the trunk which also looks when you press the button on the key fob

To me it has a similar use case to a stock El Camino or Ranchero. If this vehicle works for you, then buy with confidence as this platform is proven and reliable. I also completely agree that a lot of people drive full size trucks that don’t “need” one. We see this every time there is a spike in gas prices when people come to trade in their city trucks. When you need to pull a 30’+ trailer regularly, you can’t downsize the truck lol.

I own a 2019 ridgeline rt-l and the reception sucks. Satellite is not available. 50,000 miles and I smell ammonia when air comes on initially. This indicates evaporator and or both air conditioner has a problem. Very expensive repairs. Truck rides great, 24 mpg overall and very quick when you want to go. I will not buy another one. Love your channel.

@@MeynMotorGroup I have a 5.7 sequoia that has 221575 miles. Built in 2008. It’s never needed anything except routine maintenance, ac blower motor that was $180, ac servo motor that was $200, and a few light bulbs. I keep them for 200,000 so I’d end up spending $6000-8000 in timing belts which is absolutely insane. The Ridgeline is awesome except the belt. I would own one.

Probably $2000 if you take it to a Honda dealer. I'm sure many reputable shops can do it with a warranty around $1000 every 100k miles. It still kinda sucks, but for most people it's not that frequent. Honestly I have had friends and family with Hondas with timing belts and I think a lot of people go over 100k on the timing belts too.. I know it's a risk but I don't think most people care enough to replace it.

Car and driver clocked mid 14s to the quarter mile and 5.9s 0-60 in the latest trailsport. Honda improved the shifting because those numbers are faster than the previous 2021 they tested before. Some youtube channel did accelerations tests with a 5K trailer and the ridgeline was faster than the rest. It has more than enough power.

Ridgeline should be price way below what they are asking because is not a real truck. I was gonna get me the last remaining 2023 from the dealership and they still want msrp $40k where the 2023 tacoma trd sport same price so of course i went with tacoma but if the price was $10k below then i would have bought the ridgeline.
