I purchased a 2024 Black Edition in early February, it now has a little over 4000 miles without any problems. I compared other trucks but for the features, ride comfort, price, reliability, I selected the Black Edition. I also didn’t want a turbo engine and the VTEC has proven itself as a good engine. This is my second Ridgeline, I owned a 2012 prior to getting the 2024. I looked at other Full and mid size trucks made by Toyota, Ford, Nissan, Chevy and GMC but after evaluating my needs’ I picked another Ridgeline. I would like for it to sit a couple of inches higher but I’m satisfied with it and I don’t go off roading. I may consider a leveling kit one day to raise the front.

Nice look at the Ridgeline. It is a nice ride no doubt. It does bug how Honda as a rule forces customers into higher trims for simple upgrades. Like the sound system you mentioned.

Most reliable full size truck right now with major discounts and the best factory warranty is the Nissan Titan. Cookeville TN dealer is doing up to 10k off msrp. The Titan comes with a 5 year / 100k bumper to bumper. It was the second most reliable but when Toyota stopped the 5.7L tundra, Titan is now first. The 2007-2021 and the new tundra crewmax has enough room for me to sit behind myself at 6’ 1” with ample room to spare. I wouldn’t buy the 2022+ tundra though unless it had a lifetime power train warranty. Too many issues still.

@@therues7071 I haven’t owned a Ridgeline but I love them. The only option preventing me from buying one is the timing belt requirement every 80-100k miles. It costs $1900-2100 at the local Honda dealer. I haven’t done $2000 in any repairs in my 2008 5.7L sequoia in 16 years or 221500 miles. Only routine maintenance.

@@MeynMotorGroup Somebody in the slickdeals comments says Texas crushes you on sales tax if you lease, which appears to be confirmed on a search. So maybe that's not a realistic option. @@davidglad yea I think I’ve heard about this but a bunch of people on the Leasehackr forum are located in Texas and they say “it’s one of the best States to Lease..” apparently they ask for a lease tax credit from the dealer and the underwriters hook something up, I’m not quite sure you would have to look into it. But ordinarily I believe the reason why Texas leases are supposed to suck is because they will tax you on the full price of the car and not just the lease residual

In my opinion Hoda should have really lifted the truck atleast an 1in or 2 compared to the other models with the trailsport trim. thats why on my 2024 trailsport truck I put a small 1.5 in lift on it. besides that I think this truck is very capable with a lift kit and very comfortable. I do hate that Honda is still using a Timing belt that needs replacment every 60K-100K miles but the engine in this think is known for its reliability. Well except for the VCM in this engine but you can get a device to bypass that. seeing as this is the only midsize truck to offer a true V-6 engine I am sold and that is why I bought one. plus 0-60 in 6.3-6 seconds in a midsize truck is not that bad compared to the tacoma. plus the tacoma cost a lot more.

Getting to this one late today, but it seems like a reasonable practical vehical, BUT, the spare tyre location is STUPID as it means if you have a full load in the back and you get a flat good luck getting all that crap out to get to your spare tyre especially if you need a fork or it's just too heavy to move out on your own, you could be stuck on the side of the road for a very long time, it's why almost all utes have the spare on a chain underneath the tray.

  • @MeynMotorGroup

Yup def an inconvenience I’m guessing the trunk is too deep so it’s not able to house the spare tire underneath. This is an interesting product where they tried to reduce the inconveniences as much as they could but compromises still pop up here and there with this.
