This NEW CHEAP TRUCK Just Killed Toyota & Ford

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

A SMALL PICKUP TRUCK WAR IS STARTING AND THERE'S A NEW CHEAP PICKUP TRUCK that I think is actually worth buying in 2024. Over the past few years full size trucks have been getting bigger, fancier, and more expensive. But in 2024 sales of these overpriced trucks have slowed to a crawl and buyers are looking for cheaper options when it comes to the trucks they buy. The small truck market is starting to make a huge comeback and we now have more options than ever.

Now wait a minute here, you said that a Toyota Tacoma TRD is a $60k truck new... Lets do some basic math here; $51,995 x average 14% interest rate for a used vehicle at this moment in time is $7,279.30. Add the two numbers together and you get $59,274.30. Who's paying $60k for a used Tacoma with 6k miles on it. KBB shows trade in value on a used TRD nicely loaded at 39,9 low end to 43,3 high end. The dealership is making a killing on it and you're making it sound like a good deal. The 2nd owner is going to take a massive hit on depreciation as it leaves the lot for the second time. This is why car and truck prices are still so high. STOP buying these vehicles at these ridiculous prices. You're not going to save $10k, you're going to pay back $60k on a 2nd owner vehicle with its value losing probably another $5k to $10k.

You would still go to a showroom, talk with a commissioned salesperson, and take delivery at that location. There would be a service bay somewhere on site or nearby. The prices would be roughly the same. What would be different is the fact that the sales office would only deal with one company's brands. They would be more knowledgeable about their brands, etc. Warranty work would be simplified because you would only have to convince one bureaucracy that there is a problem. Trade-ins would probably all be sent to auction, and buying a used car would likely not happen at major-brand showrooms. You would probably get more for trade-ins of the same brand, since they would have an interest in convincing you that their brand retains value better then their competitors' brands.

I would take an aspirated v6 before I would buy any turbo engines . The turbo engines are not designed for pulling and working hard every day. I’m not sure what this reviewer’s reasoning was for not recommending the Ridgeline other than he just doesn’t like it. But from the video he makes exceptions for other vehicles he does recommend that the RL has the same attributes. Maverick is unibody construction and is considered a “light use” truck and he’s ok with that. The Frontier is a body on frame but he barely mentions that and points out its reliable V6 which the Ridgeline also has.. but this guy never covers what exactly he doesn’t like about the RL. If you don’t like it that’s ok but as a reviewer you have a responsibility to explain why and have some credible reasons why.. if it’s just the styling.. well..say that. The RL is a great truck that does what most people need from a truck and leaves out things you don’t really need. Not sure what the hate is about.

No trucks are affordable in Canada. Yes, the Ridgeline is the best buy, only if you take into consideration, reliability. I still have my 2006 Ridgeline. Now with 270,000km and still running strong. I have had to do regular maintenance such as tires, brakes, spark plugs, battery, windshield, and timing belt. The only thing that broke is the Navigation and the LCD Odometer. Everything else works great. I stupidly loaded around 3,600 pounds into it, hauling tile. I was not thinking, but nothing got hurt. I confirmed the weight because I could calculate the weight of tiles per box and that is very accurate. I confirmed by 2 witnesses that my local dealer, the Service Manager had around 750,000km on the Ridgeline - with original engine and transmission. Try that with a Colorado or Maverick... An older Tacoma might do that though.

Only usable backseat in any mid sized truck. The trunk and tailgate are great. Only mid sized truck you are going to lay 4x8 material flat on bed between wheel wells. Still has a naturally aspirated V6. Next time you're at the Honda dealer take one for a drive.

I bought a 2023 Frontier 4x4, 4 door with the 6' box. I sold my 2013 Tacoma to buy it. My Tacoma had about 150,000 miles on it, and I regretted getting rid of it. Beware of the new Frontier. The bed to cab distance on mine was 1/2" off and I didn't notice it for about a month. When I put a tool box on it, I noticed it. Athens Nissan tried to fix it and couldn't adjust it enough. They sent it to Athens Paint and Body, and they couldn't fix it either. They wouldn't buy it back and wouldn't fix it. I sold it for a loss and moved on, but I was highly disappointed in Nissan's customer service. As far as I'm concerned, I'll never buy another one. Go with another company. I posted pictures of the truck on my Google review of Athens Nissan.

Ford Maverick is essentially a Ridgeline with a Ford stamp, not a real truck IMO. Although I do like the Nissan Frontier because of its naturally aspirated engine, they have a bunch of transmission issues that can't be ignored. Personally, I would go with a Chevy Colorado or Toyota Tacoma not only because it looks like how a truck should be but has a decent-sized bed with fewer recalls overall than the others, especially Ford.

i mean, it is. though i agree, they should offer a standard cab with a longer bed. but overall it ticks the boxes for most average consumers, doing more than a sedan/van/SUV even if it doesn't handle the edge cases bigger trucks can handle (renting a truck from U-Haul for those instances isn't expensive). i love my '18 F-150 and am glad i got the long bed for hauling larger things, but i'd rock a Maverick np.

I look at the truck market everyday. The newer midsize models are all very nicely done. Earlier this week I found two 2022 Frontiers (new body style) used for $25K. Both under 30K miles and both were the SV trim. At that price or better if you can negotiate they are a very affordable option for a new body style 4x4 Frontier. It also seems that with the glut of F150’s on dealer lots, some of the lower trims with 4 wheel drive can be found in the 45K range which is where the new Tacoma and Ranger are pricing.
