Great, very detailed video. I wasn't sure about the resistors placement, so thanks for that.
Awesome video. Thanks alottttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttTT!
Thank you very much! It's always so satisfying to get feedback. 🙏😁
I get the convenience, but wouldnt it be easier to just use the normal charger?
Sure, but what would the sense of the video be when not experimenting? ✌️
@@CanWeFixThat I guess that's fair
Future proofing is a sin at game companies
Does the 40 T component also affect volume?
Maybe! Because it is responsible for a stable voltage.
I'm going to test if this is possible with regular gba as well. I've copied the video tutorial posted by gamboy custom, but there's a problem with the Bluetooth module not turning on like someone else said. So I'm going to use gba link port to power it up like you did in the video. The key is whether the link port of gba is the same as the link port of gba sp.
Hi Yoake! Thank you very much for your feedback. I want to point out that I have NOT used the link port to power this project. I explained at the end of the video why this was not possible. You will also see in the GitHub repo that I used another test point for that. Long story short: the voltage differs when you play a GBA or GB Classic game, due to specifications. I hope that helps! ;)
@@CanWeFixThat Thank you, but the regular gba doesn't seem to have a 5v pin. It's sad
@YoakeZet Are you 100% sure about that? I just found out by measuring a bunch of the test points to find one that fits my needs. But I have not checked the GBA Classic variant.⬤
@@CanWeFixThat I ordered a multimeter machine for testing. But I saw retrosix wiki and it says that 5v is formed on the second pin on the lower left side of the power regulator of the gba. But I don't know if I can solder the 5v terminal of the Bluetooth module to the power regulator. It's a power regulator, so I don't know what the problem will be with the gba if I draw the power of the bt module from there. I'm a non-major in this field, so I don't know the details, but it's just my guess.
@YoakeZet Don't worry, this should be fine; that's basically the same thing I did. But I can't give any guarantees for sure ;) Just give it a try.
how does the flux know wich pin you want to solder?
It is smart flux 😉
The pogo pins on the back (meant for a cradle) are live.
Hi! Ah, that makes sense! Thank you for the clarification.
Great video again !!!
Hi Frozerino! Great to see you again! Thank you so much! 🙌🏻
Loved the video, it's well structured and entertaining 🤩
Awesome, thanks for watching! Your feedback made my day!
Great video Markus! Have you ever thought about doing a workbench/workshop tour? You always seem to have tools/accessories that I don't see often that I end up buying and regretting not getting sooner, like the flux plunger and the Omnifixo.
Hey Nula! Thank you very much! Mh, I’ve thought about this in the past and I could definitely do that! 😉
I love CD‘s for music. It is one way you got to keep the music you bought for ever and you actually got to hold it in your hands. Imagine if internet or all music services went down you still got to listen to your CD‘s when ever you want and there was no limitations to how many times you could listen to it. Good times with my CD‘s
Dein Englisch ist echt gut! ich hab nicht erkannt das du deutsch bist

Is there any reason to install the usb-c in addition to instead of replacing the standard one?
Hi Dylan! The idea was to remove the proprietary connector and make it compatible with USB-C to take charge.
Does this work with nuki 3.0 ?
Hi! Do you mean the motor replacement?
@@CanWeFixThatyes for nuki 3.0 pro
@eliemimouni6190 I think it should be the same. What's different primarily is the clutch mechanism.
🤯
You should try to do this with a switch/ switch lite! More expensive now I think and no built in way to find them, if you do keep me posted!
Mh, good idea though! I will think about it ;)
Thank you man, you are a hero.
It wasn't working when I needed it most, i wouldn't have known how to fix it without this, thanks a lot man.
No worries, happy to help out!
thanks a lot my device is back to live now :)
Thank you for your kind words! I'm happy I could help revive your device.
lol that damaged screen almost looks like it has a kiss on it! This version of the gameboy advance is still my favourite comfort wise, but lord do I miss the advance's sp screen whenever I try to use one of these again!
Hi Black! I hadn’t even noticed the “kiss” thing :D but you’re right, haha. The GBA’s shape is brilliant, although a bit bulky, and of course, the screen quality is another story 🤣 I also have a screen mod lying around that I wanted to install there.
High speed comment incoming 😂😂😂 yes Japan Stuff is allways nice 😊

Hello, can you please give me the link for buying this same blue mat?
Hi! I would love to, but unfortunately, I can’t find it anymore. 😩
Where did you get the large PCB Holder? Love your videos!
Hey Kirk! Thank you very much! I have added the PCP Holder link in the description! 🤓
Congrats on the fix Marcus, save them big bucks!
Unfortunately, this wasn’t a bargain either. 😆
Thank you for the video... my mi can work now
Awesome to hear it worked for you!
nintendo chargers have always been sturdy as hell as someone who's broken 100s of phone chargers my 3ds one is still in tact surprisingly
That's so true! Nintendo chargers are really durable.
Came across your channel recently and have came back to your videos for learnjng different things. I have a question. Do you know of a 6 pin type c breakout board with 2 spots for the 5.1 surface mount resistors? Trying to put one in my 3ds and make it able to do c to c charging as well as a to c charging. I have found some that others have built specifically for the 3 ds but they get rather expensive if doing more than one
Hi Knuckles! Thanks for your support, it means a lot to me. 😍 Do you have a link to these breakout boards? But why wouldn’t it work? ;-)
@@CanWeFixThat I will look for the link of the ones I had found a month or two ago, I just got a pcb etching kit and am going to try to make the board myself so it doesn't get too pricey that way, but I just wanted to see if you knew of one I could purchase like from Amazon or something that just would have made it easier because the 5.1 surface mount resistors are so small my hands start to shake when trying to mess with them lmao
They grow them screens not far from where I live.
Hi Gary, we should definitely harvest them and start a business! 😜
gerate to cu again :D and congrats to fix the TM6 :)
Hi Sebastian! Good to see you! Thanks! I have to admit, I really like it. ;P

can someone explain why is that resistor for ?
Hey! The resistor is only needed if you want to use a USB-C to USB-C cable. This resistor tells your charger that it needs to output 5V. 😉
@@CanWeFixThat whoah thank you for replying and can you tell how to identify vbus , d+,d-,ground without using mutimeter , or is there labeling of those somewhere online on both type c port pcb and controller charging pcb
@rahathunnisa7667 You are welcome! Do you mean specifically for the PS4 controller?
@@CanWeFixThat yes
@@CanWeFixThat and mine is abit newer version controller after yours so it has 1 screw on it not like your one which has 2 screws
Would it be possible to install a thunderbolt connector and achieve file and video transfer
Hi Dylan, nope, that’s not possible. At least, I don’t know how it could be done. It would require a controller that can communicate with the internal memory of the console.
Since both CC lines are connected together, this mod won't work properly with e-marked cables. (the usb-c cables that comes with laptop are usually e-marked) The Raspberry Pi 4 had this problem when it got released in 2019.
Hi! Thank you for bringing this up. I personally don't own such cables, but it's very valuable information-thanks again!
@@CanWeFixThat You won't encounter problems with cheap cables. And I personally wouldn't use my expensive cables on my game controllers. So it's not a big deal.
@InfoDav Yeah, I would guess most people won't be affected by this mentioned limitation, but anyway, good to know!
Do I need a desoldering gun to remove the old power connector? Can I just unsolder it using a solder wick? I have never soldered anything before.
Hi Pardee, not necessarily, but I would highly recommend practicing on older devices if you have never done this before. You could watch my recent video, where I do something similar with the old connector: kzread.info/dash/bejne/iWyOzrZtp725n9Y.html
I'm looking to get a similar microscope setup, however your link for the 180x lens points to a page with two items that are listed as "180X 50mm", but look very different. One is 45USD, the other is 102USD. Which is it? Also, do you have links for the light ring and articulating arm mount you are using? Thanks!
Hi Andrew! I looked it up, it's the 180x, third from the left in the selection. I updated the video description with the info about the light ring. The articulating arm I'm using is a DIY solution from an old computer screen table mount-not recommendable. ^^
Many thanks for this tutorial! Just fixed my Nuki V2 (yellow cable was broken). V2 is a little bit different in the lifting mechanism.
Hey! Thank you very much for sharing your results. You are right, the V2 mechanism is a bit different. 😉
The Nintendo snipers are probably tracking him
The only way to evade the snipers is to start speedrunning Mario Kart in real life! 😁
just ordered my screen protector, are you 100% sure this works for all models?
Hi! Yes, but you need to order the correct version for your specific device.
I see, I’ll make sure to do that, thanks!
Thank you for your support, it means a lot!
this worked SO good, i am baffled. should have bought sooner
Thank you for sharing your positive experience! It means a lot.
Can you do my watch pls
Hey Bella, it is really easy and can be removed without any harm! Just give it a try. 💪🏻
Is this the same way for the 3ds
Yep! This method works with every USB-Device!
@@CanWeFixThat but a new 3ds is not. A USB device
@goethecsgo9935 You are absolutely right! But in this case, it works because it also uses 5V for charging. So you are fine just using the GND and VCC connections.
I used a small vice grip and clamped it hard enough to leave a dent on the top of shield above the CPU and it's been chugging along just fine since with some new thermal paste too
Hi! Interesting approach, but I guess the problem might reoccur over time and with temperature changes. 😕 Keep me posted! 🫶
@@CanWeFixThat yeah, it was a hail mary that I thought would have broke it more, but it was gonna be tossed otherwise. It's been about 3 weeks and still works so far
