    Hi there! Let me explain in detail. Understand that the job market and job opportunities for IT and CS based jobs are more and easier to get compared to Core jobs be it ECE, mech or civil. Also, the criteria to get into core jobs are stringent and require you to invest a lot of hardwork and have good academics as well. Comparatively, CS jobs do require skills, but since opportunities are more and not as stringent, you can get into one easily either through Naukri, LinkedIn or campus placements. People say that ECE students can enter into CS or core jobs easily but it's not true. CS jobs for ECE students are difficult to get especially product ones. Coming to recruitment has been reduced lately as you mentioned, yes it's true. Recession and American market has effected Indian job market but opportunities are present in both CS and core companies. It's just the competencies the individual presents which put them forth. Also, in both software and core industries , there are low paying and high paying jobs. So, understand what you are interested in, rather than what is good in the market. Market fluctuations happen all the time, it's your personal choice of interest which should decide what job you should choose. All the best 👍. Do subscribe to our channel to support us 😁!

  • @VivekGangi
    @VivekGangi9 күн бұрын

    Wow, that's a great question. Let me try to explain what I can. You can correct me if I'm wrong. I see you are worried about what the future is going to be, with the technology nodes reaching saturation. You need to understand a thing, a cycle from final GDS to tape out will take a year more or less. That means, the chips that are used in the market now have been designed a minimum of one year before (obviously far before that). So, research and progress is continuous here in the VLSI industry. Currently 1.6 A projects are going on and even lower ones as I have heard. It's not just process nodes, but the type of MOSFET that is also progressing with R&D. From planar fet to ribbon fet, changes are inevitable for every couple of years. As you grow you accumulate knowledge, whatever node it is DRCs, concepts, timing fixing and many primal things are going to be still the same. So, in short this industry is not saturating like the software industry but growing rapidly. Just try to follow industry news and stuff to understand. Even I'm still learning. Just be active and invest time to learn. All the best 👍! Do subscribe to our channel to support us 😁

    I haven't heard of retirement age to be 40 years anywhere. Looks like you are confused with this information. 50 years is more than enough to earn for yourself what you need for retirement. With the pressure and low work life balance in the VLSI industry, I don't think it will be good for our health to work post 50. It's just my personal opinion, you can decide accordingly. @VivekGangi27 күн бұрын

    Hi Rahul! Yes, it's a good choice. I'm assuming you are asking about Bachelor's ECE with specialisation in VLSI. Both the syllabus Design and placements are good. Outside opportunities are good, if you can off-campus placements as well. It is to be noted that I don't have the recent placement statistics, I'm referring to the previous batches. • @VivekGangi
    @VivekGangi27 күн бұрын

    Here is my suggestion before proceeding. Understand this, it will help with your decision: 1. Manipal main campus is a well established campus. So infrastructure, placements, growth are going to be good compared to VIT-AP campus which was established around 5 years back. (Don't know real time information, based on my assumption and news) 2. But the catch is, VLSI is the most growing industry around the world and I personally say that because I'm working in this same industry. VLSI in VIT AP is actually good as well. Also, the University is pretty much established but not as compared to Manipal which is a pretty good city as well. Nearby town for VIT AP is Vijayawada which is around 40 min travel, and the university is in the outskirts. Placement opportunities are also good in VIT as well. Not sure about that of Manipal, hoping it should be good. 3. It's not an apple-apple comparison here. Understand what you are really interested in ECE or EEE before going forward. Your interest in that major choice contributor other than above two points. Think and decide accordingly. Reach out to someone from Manipal University for further information. All the best 👍! • @VivekGangi
    @VivekGangi27 күн бұрын

    Hi Rudra! The knowledge that students acquire in ECE is not really enough to get placed in top MNCs. Basic service based IT jobs can be achieved with the basic placement training and self study of the students with coding and aptitude. To get higher packages and so called super-dream and dream IT jobs, you need to understand that personally you need to put in a lot of hard work for practicing and learning. ECE students are not allowed for every IT based job interview, some companies have restrictions as well. So, understand what's at stake and what opportunities are here before proceeding. These are from my personal understandings and experiences at VIT. All the best 👍. Do subscribe to our channel to support us 😁

  • @VivekGangi
    @VivekGangiАй бұрын

    Hi Unnati, Depending on the role you are attending, the required skills change. Basic C or python coding is needed everywhere, core or CS based jobs. If it's a VLSI based company, VHDL is quite important but embedded systems based companies might not go deep into that but would need you to understand coding. The same case goes with Matlab, if the interviewer has worked in that they would ask you specific Matlab questions. Else, it's not always needed. In summary, you would need to know clear basics in whatever you have worked in your degree time. The depth of questions would depend on the type of organisation you are attending. All the best 👍! @VivekGangiАй бұрын

    It's not the case everywhere. It just depends on the teaching style of the professor whatever University it is. IIT or normal University , some professor's go in detail and some don't. Just we need to understand that, top universities have good quality teaching and thus they don't usually teach for name sake, but to make students understand things as they have benchmark to meet. Else, it's almost same everywhere. Students need to put 80 percent effort to study and understand, classroom teaching will not help you understand the concepts, maybe you can just pass the examinations. Hope your query is answered!

Personally, I don't see that much of use in improving either your knowledge or placement opportunities. It's just a new exposure but the additional effort and hardwork from your side needed will increase highly as you need to explore both the courses. Other than that, I don't see much benefit in taking minors. This is purely my personal understanding, please think and decide accordingly. All the best 👍! Do subscribe to our channel to support us 😁
