Good video lance, currently riding in the rocky mountains of Colorado, hauled my drz 21 hours to get here but totally worth it
Nice change of pace, liked it .
Appreciate your dedication to good audio dude. Makes all the difference!
You've got some awesome riding country over that way.
Awesome idea for a video! Small thing you could change in my opinion, do not cut music that way, just slowly lower volume while you are talking. That's just me, other can have different opinion :p Keep it up, legend!
@@michal7817 100 percent. I wasn’t going to post the video as I wasn’t happy at all with the finished product. I have heaps to learn still with editing and need to practice with different types of videos such as this one.
Great video . Would love to no how to find these tracks have no idea how to even no we're to start lucky you
@@jasongoldy2571 it’s been a long time in the making. Just spending years riding the local areas. There have been many times where I just went in circles getting lost. All part of the fun.
Nice part of the world. Spent many weekends trail riding out there back in the 90's
Did my adventure last year snapped my bike in half was a sad day
@@I_am_Brad did your frame go?
@@The_Apprentice_Adventurer yeah sub frame snapped just a lil to heavy but I have learned
Hey Lance. Great stuff mate. Been on quite a few of those tracks but a few I dont recognise. Do you share GPX files? Love to get back up the the BMtns in spring.
@@JonPiro yeah it’s an awesome place. The route is in the description. Should be a link there. 👍
the landscape here is eerily similar the many parts out the Australian bush. kzread.info/dash/bejne/n2ioxtBrgdOoedY.htmlsi=SNwGe9DSVfJveNbY
Yr getting good at this, good introduction, 600km of trails & road in a day - good work!
Lance, "I'm standing in knee deep water." Everybody else, " Fuck this, thats upto my waist!"
That’s a fair call. The long legs do help.
Great advice Lance, as I just bought one this week 😎👍
Enjoy. You’ll love her.
What an adventure! I just wish GoPros did justice to steep terrain. I live in this area and would love to go for a ride with you some day 👍
Thanks mate. Jump on my insta. When I do random group rides I post on there.
@@The_Apprentice_Adventurer Cheers mate will do 👍
This is sick dude. Exactly the kind of stuff I’m into.
Bro that water in the high country is probably as clean as you'll ever find. I often go kayaking in rivers fed from streams like this and we drink water straight from the river. No need to boil but understand you want to be careful. Another great video bro
The old me would have agreed. During this trip I caught a water born bug and pooed for a week straight. Lol
A love that “very well maintaines trail” cut to Titanic bog! 😜 Great riding through there.
I can not wait to be riding my exact same scooter just waiting for a new throttle
My clutch lever snapped on a drop. Was riding solo on Howes trail. Luckily a guardian angel towed to top of hill, where I bump started it. Had two or three closed gates to contend with, guardian angel kept overtaking me whilst I rode slow and opened said gates. Got back to Putty Rd then had to ride home about 120km with ultra clunky clutchless gear changes and stressing about traffic lights or having to stop on an incline in traffic. Made it home with only two more bump starts. Needless to say I don’t leave home without spare levers or cable when I’m in those environments! Lance your ride home, I know how it feels mate - glad you made it I’m sure there was a few hairy moments
Haha that sounds as rough as my ride home. Nevertheless though another life experience that a will never forget and smile back on.
Great video, I could sense the stress and challenges to overcome. Very riveting for the viewer. Plus you're a good man for thanking everyone, well done.
I thought it was you, me and two mates rode past youwhen your mate was fixing his bike. I shouldve said G'day haha good ride mate keep it up.
Haha yeah his handle bars were falling off. Next time stop and say hi 🤙
Watched 2 minutes of this vid then went straight to ABA and ordered some new springs.. 😂
Nice one. Suspension is king if you get it right.
Hey mate it was nice meeting you out on the tracks! I was one of the guys helping clean up. Thank you for also putting in an effort to help us, it’s a shame that this is the reality of the bush we share. Glad to meet some like minded people out on the tracks!
No dramas mate. You guys are leading by example. Keep up the good work.
Nice work legends! There’s a special place in hell put aside for people who litter. Much thanks for taking the time to pick it up ✊
Wonderful Documentary Lance
Yo my man. You should stop editing out your hill climbs even if you mess up. Those are some of the best parts. Like the one around 11:20.
"Ride it like you stole it!" 😂😂😂😂😂 Great one liner, great video.
Epic ride man and yeah that looks chilli.
I'm really interested in watching a snippet of you riding it home without a clutch
Sorry man there was no footage of that. I had crack the shits by then and filming was the last thing on my mind. It was alright other than stopping on a hill at a stop sign. That sucked.
Master class . Thanks!
My rule of the cable is.....grease 2 years and replace the third, keep the changed one for a spare. It is usually rust that weakens them...and they are cheap for a 3 yr exchange. Garth
Awesome looking ride mate. Maybe now you won’t need the grip strength of the hulk to use your clutch 😂
Haha funny story that one. I fitted my old original cable and it’s so much easier.
@@The_Apprentice_Adventurer your wrist will thank you 🤣
you get on the trail clutch cable repair kits but its a bit bulky to carry a whole spare clutch cable but a repair kit is super lightweight and would serve as a replacement for Throttle or clutch... that being said im 44 seconds into this video so forgive me if im ignorant :D also love it when a friday begins with some aussie dirtbike action :D
That’s a good pointer. Didn’t know there was such a thing. I’ll look into that. Thanks mate.
Didn’t know there was cable repair kits that’s cool
13:05 I hate people dumping rubbish, its so easy to make a dedicated rubbish bag for the night and bring it with you. Such a nice video btw, I love riding my DRZ400E, nice scenery in the blue mountains and you see things others don't see on the bike 14:30 nice sediment rocks, you can see the bedding (the layers)
Those blokes picking up the rubbish were legends, credit to them for making Australia better, we need more of them.
The good old leather man comes in handy
I'm enjoying this video like all of your others. Keep up the great content! Question: I love my DRZ400 (mine's an S with E gearing). Do you sometimes wish you had a lighter, more powerful enduro or is there something that makes you stick with your DRZ over all of these other nice bikes your mates bring on these adventures?
I’d love a enduro bike but can’t afford two bikes so the DRZ in my books is the best option for all types of riding.
Legends... may be i could only do 20% of it.
Been riding with rowan a couple of times, he is a fair animal! Haha
Thank you good sir
@@user-xs7ds3hx4w Mr Turner, you have a channel!
Yeah he is a gun rider.
ah yes the ol hills become more difficult off camera, found this out on my most recent ride, didn't have the confidence to tackle solo yet... Top ride fellas
F those who leave their rubbish. Would love to catch them. Agree stay away from that sh1t food. Not hard to prepare a meal.👍👍✋
Nice! Let me know when your doing a day trip next time 🤙🏼
What a cracker of a ride! Looks steep even on GoPro! No need to excuse yourself for sniffles. I couldn't even hear it, i was so into the vid! Non stop action, I'll catch you on the next one. Was that you getting puffed walking up the hill 😜 Jamie
Lance, might be good to replace manual with hydraulic clutch, the kit is affordable and worth it, cheers.
To the blokes in the 4wd's, thank you. To all the people leaving trash, you suck!
Well said. It was way worse than the camera showed.
@@The_Apprentice_Adventurer it's like that where we ride, I have had to come back with the 4x4 and trailer to clean up where some shit bags dump there rubbish.
No worries, unfortunately we have to share the tracks with these grubs so the least we can do is clean up after them and hope the message gets out to them before rangers find it and close places we all love down.
@@ssusggus Sounds more like an enforcement issue and most of the time it's because the authorities don't have the resources to monitor it. Unfortunately it's always a small minority who make the rest of us who are doing the right thing look bad
@@patrickwilliamson29 that’s a good point, I couldn’t believe it when I saw it. There was about a whole case worth of bottles smashed throughout the bush.
don't waste your time carrying a clutch cable, just replace it every 6yrs or so whether it needs it or not. there's only 2 reasons they break old age and use or aftermaket levers or perches that cut the cable. replacing periodically avoids the age related failure, not using dodgt aftermarket crap eliminates the second type of failure.
Can I have your old ones? lol
awesome ride mate 😁👌sucks about the clutch cable hay 😮been thinking about those kits you can get and keeping it in my tool bag for when SHTF 🤔 although a complete cable would be better 😁👍 keep well mate and ride safe-ish 😉🍺
I’ll be putting a cable back into my kit for sure. 👍
