BROKEN DOWN & STRANDED IN THE AUSTRALIAN OUTBACK || DRZ400E ADVENTURE RIDE

DEVASTATING & SCARY. My Suzuki DRZ400E dual sports motorbike finally breaks down in the middle of the Australian outback during a 5000km adventure ride. Fortunately I was not riding solo this time round and was able to be towed for 155km by another motorbike, ironically being another DRZ400E.
This is a devastating situation for any adventure rider, so I did my best to film my experience and what it looked like for me.
This is part 9 of the series.

Mate, the way you responded to the drama, speaks volumes of how your father raised you. You constantly sought to improve your position, you insisted on being positive and you were humble and grateful.

Handled it like a champion and putting this out there when your at a low point for others to learn is a very humble and great thing to do. Well played taking the time to thank all the legends that offered help is another humble thing to do. A BLOODY BIG Thank You from all of us viewers and well done on another awesome trip and video series bringing us along. Rock on mate

As long as you get back to your family safe and sound nothing else really matters! There's always going to be another adventure ride Buddy!

We learned after the towing the same way, that it is safer to stand on the rope on the footpeg. That way you can let go when you need to bail out of the towing if there is a problem. Sorry to see. Still haven't had to try it thankfully

Great video, I could sense the stress and challenges to overcome. Very riveting for the viewer. Plus you're a good man for thanking everyone, well done.

What a Champion. I watch a lot of adventure bike you tube videos and I ride a Drz, and this is great content. Because these things happen. I can’t wait to see your next video when you are back on track. Love your channel. ❤

I’m totally gutted for you Lance! Love watching your channel and have really enjoyed your’s and Josh’s Cape York adventure. And it’s testament to you, that whilst you were enduring the grief and pain of a potential “terminal” breakdown you kept your head up, you remained positive and you kept your viewers informed. But then you went a stage further and shared your recovery story and logistics, for anyone else who might be unlucky enough to share the same fate! Good on you Lance, you’re an absolute legend!!!! I hope Sally is repairable and I see you both out again real soon 🙏🙏🙏

I towed a mate 600+Km through France a couple of years ago. Broken crank on a 25 year old bike. It's not an adventure until something goes wrong!!...Footpeg to Footpeg is the best way to tow.

Ahh mate, been watching all your stuff... a far cry from the riding here in England. Loved all the videos, but proper gutted for you Lance with the outcome of this one. But, with the help of your mate got to (some form of) civilisation, kept your head and come up with a plan. Well done mate, not easy when the pressure is on. Just seen your big bore video (proper tempted, I have a 2003 drz 400 s), so good to see bike back in business and ready for some more adventure - some unfinished business on this one. Keep it up mate, awesome work! 👊

Wow mate, one thing the wife and I realised while travelling in South America and surrounds.....the worlds a good place and 99% of the people we met would do anything to help if needed and it sounds like you also found that here. I remember the front wheel bearings seized on the BMW in Argentina; we were in the middle of nowhere, a guy leaving town to go home, with ACDC blaring stopped, helped me throw the wheel in the car and drove me 35 km back to town where he organised to get it all fixed. In our broken spanish/ english he explained he played the piano in his local church and just liked ACDC. He then drove me back out (to wife and broken bike still sitting on the side of the road) where he waited till we were right to go then disappeared down the road to Thunder Struck!
