It’s not a good idea to start on the heavy-bag with hardening your hands. You don’t set the proper grow impulses to your Periosteum, cortical bone, spongiosa, tendons and muscles. Hardening your hands for using them as natural for fighting needs 8 to 12 years preparation. The skin is a further thing that only adjust by daily use…. When you do it the wrong way you get capsule injury’s and tendinitis over time that let you suffer latest when you are around the 40s or earlier. Better Plan: Year 1 to 4: a) Do push-ups on your fingertips, begin on your knee’s with all fingers and go up to two fingers fully. b) make a lot of strength for your wrists and fingers. For example swinging a smithing hammer…or do the wheelbarrow on the fists - first over a carpet, then meadows, then stone - also wear weights plates around by grabbing them with you fingertips c) develop a thicker periosteum and cortical bone by hitting your knuckles and backhands on each other or with a partner, but with care not overmotivated - after a season they should be a bit pain sensitive but with no stabbing pain. You also can use a bottle of rice 🍚… d) give your body enough pause to heal from every season. Year 2 to 8: (All tasks from the first period are fully possible with no pain) e) keep task a to d but with more intensity f) When you are capable of getting or building a „Makiwara“ - so get one. It’s important that it bounces in the proper way. And use it 3 to 5 times a week - best one with rough rope g) Training you grip strength by climbing h) instead a bottle of rice use on with coarse gravel Year 6 to 12: i) reach maximum intensity depending on your strength at every task j) Do heavy bag session up to reaching full force k) introduce a wooden trunk as opponent for your hands and at last solid walls and stones - be very careful with that- when it causes pain by lighter use you are not ready! When you are looking for people doing this and giving advice on KZread a good address is for example Morio Hiagonna 🥋…. Some further things - never do hand conditioning with cold hands! Better they are hot red and very well supplied with blood. That lowers injury risks drastically … - Do not start with this before 15 to 16 years old, else you get deformations and life long injuries!

A tip for doing this is try to use only about 20-30% of your power in the first time, and gradually increase it with each sessions. It would reduce the risk of injury while help you feel the punches better!

Im a smart guy and im a tall guy with long legs and arms and ive been getting more and more into boxing and this is a very good tip. Boxing is more than just who is stronger, its about who is smarter as well😅. Anyone who wins fights by getting hit feels unnecessary when you can easily win most foghts wothout getting hit at all if you know how to manipulate you're opponent.
