Boxing Mental Preparation | Winning Before the Fight
Complete training program for boxers - koboxingpackage.weblium.site
The battle begins way before the bell rings - it's all in the mind. In this video, I'll share tips from my 35 bouts as an amateur boxer on how to mentally prepare for fights and conquer nerves to increase your chances of winning.
For starters, you have to know that fear will always be there. It can either give you a boost or burn you out. The only time I didn't have nerves was my first fight at 9 years old because I didn't know what I was getting into. After that, I always felt the fear, and it took me a while to learn to control it. There are basically 2 ways to set your mind: friendly and savage. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. Let's begin with the friendly one.
Friendly:
- Communicate with your team and supporters.
- Use visualization: imagine how you beat your opponent, how you hit him, how your hand gets raised, and how you will feel afterward.
- Use the power of rituals: have your own ritual that helps you.
- Think of the reason why you even go in the ring
- Seem inspiration
- Think of the preparation: how hard you trained and how dedicated you were (if you want to be more than confident in your prep - get the KO Boxing Package).
Savage:
This method will not contain many pointers. The idea is quite simple - you have to go to a dark place in your head and imagine that you're going to fight for your own life and the lives of people you love, like a gladiator or a soldier. Before making this video, I talked to my friend who is a soldier now fighting Russians. He's been through many battle operations in the last 2 years and says that the way soldiers prepare is similar to boxing matches, and many guys use this method. It makes you really focused and serious. It literally makes your match unfair because your opponent fights for a medal, title, or money, but you’re putting lives on the table. It makes you very intimidating and unstoppable. Also, I mentioned that I watched movies, so after Rocky 4, I started imagining that I am taking revenge on my opponent for taking the life of a loved one. A great example of this is Mike Tyson. Just look at how he won fights before setting his foot in the ring. People were afraid of him not only because of his skills, speed, and power but also because of the way he fought. He would go with bad intentions to take your life.

Hey andrii, I was one of the people that requested you a short on mentality in one of your IG reels. You really have no idea how much value this has. Personally I'm an mma dude, but this is applicable to any combat sport imo. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and blessings on the situation down there in Ukraine, keep fighting!

Nice video. I just like boxing and don't mind fighting (I can even enjoy it). Though, I don't know if I have a fear of being punches in the face.

Thank you bro 👊
Or maybe you can start with the friendly method first at the start of the fight, and then when you wear your opponent down or get a good shot, you can do the aggressive method, and it’s probably better to not do the aggressive method first because if your opponent is a smart fighter, he might counter and get the better of your aggressiveness

Yeah, the thing is that mental prep starts days before the fight so you can’t easily switch in the process
