Beautiful! I’m adding that pattern to my birthday wishlist because this is so cute! I’m already imagining a reversible version because those colors would totally give it a different vibe if reversed.

@@JackyHeijmans thank you! alas, it was a long-distance commission, so daisy worked her magic by making the housecoat solely to measure. because of that, it needs a tweak to the armscyes, which i have to have done professionally--that's to be expected with you don't have your client in the room for fittings. but i like how you think--i'll see if i can get a nice photo or three after said tweakage has been wrought and send to daisy to post on her community page (appropriately redacted, of course). :)

So I'm writing a fictional culture with heavy inspirations from Minoan fashion, but I fail miserably at describing clothing. I found this video really helpful to kind of work out ways to describe what I'm going for. Cool side benefit!

Hey! Do you know what the Ancient Egyptian armlets worn over the biceps are called? Specifically the ones that arent much ornate and essentially just a brass ring. I can't find them anywhere and i figured I might not know their proper name

I once went to Norway and saw a lot of similarities between Eastern and Western tribal designs and motifs - especially if you look at central Asia, China as well as places like Borneo. I believe that at one point in the history of Human civilization, all these cultures converged from one point in the distant past.

I appreciate the video, as a man. I'm looking for some cover on my waist during garden works. The cover should be without any obstacles between legs, more like a male skirt or a sarong, but short. The loincloth looks fabulous, but has the cloth put between legs, but the look is inspiring. I'm a fan of antiquity as well :) More into the Greece and Minoan culture, but still similar. Thanks :)

Thank you so much! I needed this for a cosplay! You seem like you're very astute in ancient Egyptian clothing so I might reach out to you to hopefully get some expertise from someone who is well studied in the subject! I'm falling into so many pitfalls and it's so hard to find answers on ancient Egyptian attire. Again, thanks a bunch! ❤

I wonder where the half circle comes from because almost all descriptions say it uses a rectangular piece of cloth that it gathered very tight at the top. As a funeral garment it was worn until the early 1900's.

The Scythians were described as tall (180cm to 200cm), pale skinned and often red haired people by nearly all neighboring countries/cultures. People or books that try to describe them as Turks/Huns need to read history and DNA testing.
