Fitting a Mockup: My Fave Medieval Dress | For SCA, Larp, Ren Faire, Cosplay, and Fantasy Costumes
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
This is hopefully another helpful tool for pattern drafting the classic medieval fitted gown! I am making a new dress for myself and decided to totally revamp my pattern so I could get a better fit for my current body but also so I can show you!

I really like the straight grain binding and finger loop around the neck, and of course the whole dress is beautiful 😊 And you should definitely make that small dart in the neckline, I think it would improve the fit in just the right way.
Thanks for the tip on making the sleeve even.
Another wonderful dress! I'm so glad you're in the NW where you can wear all these dresses! :D
This dress looks gorgeous 😻

Thank you! 😊

MUCH insight! But I also need some different advice and I wonder if you or anyone else in the comment section can help: I have ADHD and my mind jumps from one project to another project and then I end up with project paralysis and projects don’t get started ever or the ones that have been started get set down and never finished… How does one stay on task and get the project finished?

I gave a yard stick hung on my wall with clothes pins glues to it, which I use to organize my projects on index cards. Each index card is an unfinished project, and I keep notes and project specific to-do lists on them. It helps a lot as a visual representation of what needs to be done all in one place.
in the revel, is it me or did you use two different fabrics (left and right) or is it velvet grain? Lovely dress!

Thank you so much! It is, in fact, two different fabrics! One is a green velvet, and the other is a brown with green pattern!

It’s not you, definitely two different fabrics 😀
Approximately how long did this take?
$90 per meter? Is it the Margaret cloth of gold?

The fabrics I have seen at that price are embroidered silks. I almost drooled on them they were so gorgeous but I put the bolt back.
