If you’re as passionate about classic cars as we are, you’ve probably heard of Steve Mags (Steve Magnante). His popular KZread channel has videos about all things classic cars, junkyard finds, model cars, and so much more. High Octane Classics has partnered up with Steve to help him create the best videos possible, and to provide us (and you!) with amazing content and vehicles that we love.
Classic cars are our passion, and we want to help ensure that they’re here for us all to enjoy for generations to come. Since these iconic cars are no longer being made, however, there’s obviously a very limited supply. Steve Mags and his team scour junkyards and other places to discover amazing classic cars, car parts, and other exciting things that help to ensure we can all keep enjoying these beautiful works of automotive history.

Please keep using Steve his knowledge is unbelievable ,glad he is getting better he will help your business I have followed him for years and will as long as he is willing to be out there
How come no comment from presenter about the 426 Hemi hood?? Was it a factor hemi car, etc?.. Also, it's described as an SE car, but it also has R/T on the front fenders and presenter never mentioned anything about the R/T fenders. So which one is it? R/T or S/E?.. Or RT/SE??
One big problem ITS A CHRYSLER ugly styling and terrible build quality
I had one of these as well, the color was a little different. Purple with white interior. It got me my first ticket, for loud exhaust of course.
Hi Steve, It's great to see you doing your thang, you were instrumental in getting me back into model building after 45 years. Best wishes to yourself, loved ones and fellow viewers.

One of the few Mopars I didn't own back in the day - but nice! Stay strong Steve!
Always loved Dusters. Great car. Glad to see you up and about, Steve!
Jeffrey look great Steve
Back in the saddle Mr Magnante! Love it!
God speed Steve. Excellent commentator!!!!!!!! You are the MAN
Its really a shame that all the Fords on this channel are Mustangs
3:15 That ceramic resistor on the firewall, drivers side is notorious for keeping the car from starting if it got wet due to the trunk gasket perishing. No gaskets here - I am surprised the builder didn't use a spacer behind it to offset it from the firewall. I know this because this was my first car ('73) and I've owned 3 of them since!
Been thinking of you Steve .Looking good . 👍
So good to see you again Mr Magnante! What a great car, 340 w/ a 4 speed is a guaranteed good time. Thank you High Octane Classics for sharing this and making it possible. ~ Chuck
Looking good Steve! Love your work!
Looking good Steve, another informative video
It's good to see you back again, and you look much better and seem to be on the mend. This started life as a 318 CID V8. Correct, it has been REBUILT, not "built". Chrysler already built it, the hobbyist rebuilds it. This would have had electronic ignition originally, so no "upgrade" there. Correct, "H" is the VIN code for the 340 CID V8. "P" was for some 400 CID V8s. We got the VIN, we win: V for Valiant/Duster/Scamp, L for low price class, 29 for two door sports hardtop, G for 318 CID V8 with two barrel, aka "Grunt of the Fleet", 4 for 1974 model year, G for St. Louis, MO assembly (Fenton) and the rest is the production sequence. The Fenton plant complex operated from 1959 to 2009. We got the tag, we can brag: M21 for roof drip rail moldings, R11 for Music Master AM radio, 2 watt, V6W for White longitudinal stripes, Y16 for sales bank car, END for end of sales codes, V4W for White vinyl roof, U for USA spec vehicle, B43 for manual brakes, G51 should be a 7.5" rear end with a possible ratio of 2.76:1, L31 for fender mounted turn signal indicators, L73 for seat belt unfastener lamp, KT5 for Sienna (like a brown/copper color) exterior paint, M2YW is the interior code, 509 for possible Thursday May 9, 1974 production, E44 for 318 CID V8 with two barrel, and D13 for three speed manual floor shifter.
I remember the exact looking car as a young man, my girl friends brother had one, minus the scoop. Great fun car to drive, nice burnouts and look great! Nice work Steve!
Looking a lot better! Keep up the good work!
You definitely look better Steve. You always have the great 411.

Thank you Steve! Great seeing you back doing what no one else can do as well! Stay healthy brother!
There was a purple one at my high school, ran right up there with the Camaro's and Mustang's. Excellent video Steve, thanks.
Very nice Steve those 340s were pretty quick.
Love to see Steve in action thank you.!
Looking good Steve. Glad you’re back!
My Grandpa had two Dusters both with the Slant six. One off them was Sand brown ant the other was blue. The Beauty of a Duster they never made 4 doors. Great to see you Steve. From San Diego. 👍

Seeing Steve beside this beautiful car just feels right. So glad he's doing better. Hopefully his financial situation is recovering too
Love you Steve your the MAN .
Great to see and hear you, Steve. (my Grandmother bought new a 1974 Gold Duster; 318, Torqueflite, factory A/C and sunroof) *Heartbeat City by the Cars
Yay! It's Steve and one of my dream cars, too! :)
Years ago, a buddy of mine had a 340 Duster and it amazed me how fast that thing was for stock. That motor was darn near bulletproof. Good to see you again, Steve. You're looking and sounding more like your old self.
These cars were scattered throughout my high school parking lot - most sporting polite 318’s……..👨🎓 The Cars not only featured a 340 Duster on one of their album covers, I believe the “Greatest Hits” album featured the crumpled fender of another car you mentioned (Chevy Nova) on the front cover……..👍
Steve, you are looking super! Amazing car and a great video ❤
I was beginning to worry - it had been such a long time since the previous video. Steve you are looking stronger than ever! Keep it up!!! 🙂
