With this version, an old song is fresh again. We feel the singers' emotions are just happening. It's Rob and Tim and Peter who carry the song for me. I'd like to hear how you respond to HF's "Winter Song.

I hope Misty Mountains by Peter Hollens featuring Tim Foust is on the list soon. I cannot wait to see the analysis of that arrangement. The number of layers may just make your head spin!

Have you done Austin's "Bring Him Home"? I think Peter and Tim sang together before Tim joined HomeFree. And Austin knew Peter from his cruise ship performing days. Peter was on The Sing Off, in the group On the Rocks. That was the same season as Chance was on the show with Street Corner Symphony.😮

Do you think a 65 yr old man like me, that does not read music would ever be able to learn how to play a piano?

I love this version of the song❤ I believe that high part you were wondering about was Adam he does almost the same thing in How Great Thou Art. Home Free just released Vincent ft Don McLean it’s incredible 😊

Thanks for your analysis. My favorite part in this song besides the great harmonies is Tim's bass. He starts singing so low in his solo & then slides up into a beautiful tenor voice. No one does that better. All Peter's collaborations with Home Free & his duets with Tim are awesome!

8:56 - 9:09 love this part! Origins of Amazing Grace: John Newton was a slave trader a pretty nasty and inhumane job. The John Newton "Amazing Grace" story includes a near-death experience on one of these slave ships. During a particularly violent storm off the coast of Ireland in 1748, Newton prayed desperately to God to save him and his ship from sinking. As the ship was tossed back and forth, some of the crew were swept overboard, but Newton was spared, and the ship reached safety. John Newton marks this event as his moment of conversion to Christianity which set him on a path towards redemption. It also has an Irish origin but sang by Baptists and Methodist Christians. Yes mostly in the US. John Newton was English. (Wiki)😢

I always say that a song can be sung so well in such beautiful voices, but for me it is only perfect when it reaches not only my ears but also my heart and soul. With Home Free you no longer need other groups. It doesn't matter what song, what genre, Home Free will make something of it. All different voices, but still one. And the collaboration with Peter Hollens is really amazing😉If there should be a 6th member at Home Free, it should be Peter Hollens 😊 I come from a very Christian family myself. My grandmother and my father were both pastors. My father, who also had a very beautiful voice, sang this song regularly. He died at the age of 50 and this song was also sung at his funeral. I was 6 years old but that is what I remember very well. From that moment on, the song has a special place in my heart. And Home Free ft Peter Hollens makes my favorite version of this.

Sheer magic...the way she stirs up emotions from the depths of her being...so in tune with the lyrics that she becomes the story. The sheer brilliance of this woman, the Queen of Emotions. I love your reaction. ❤

Dramatic effect, for sure...that turning around. There are times when I feel that a reactor would go overboard with technical aspect. Not at all with yours. You did it intermittently and quite purposefully. I like and appreciate especially that you can focus and highlight what's happening both vocally and instrumentally. The breakdown in each individual case is well done and well noted. I know of a lady vocal coach who also does exactly what you do. Please, continue doing what you do. It makes watching and listening to reactions like yours so much more valued. Thanks. ❤

Fun Fact: In German Elise is pronounced WITH the e at the end - it makes the schwa sound 😊 I bet Beethoven would have liked this version of his song, since he didn’t really like Für Elise. He thought it was too simple, too boring. (Unlike this one - even though I love the original composition as well ❤) Beethoven even tried to improve it with a second version. And that one is a little different. But I think that wasn’t to his liking either. 😅 Do you know Beethoven‘s second version? I don’t think it’s more similar to this song by Faouzia. But on the other hand - who knows. 😅 Brilliant reaction and analysis - as always. ❤😊

Beautiful song for your amazing talent of analytical skills. You said I could ask a question about you and you’d decide whether to answer or not. I’m so curious about how long you’ve been trained in your musical abilities. I know you play piano and guitar and also have a singing ability and range. You’re fascinating how much you know immediately. That’s my question🤗

How can pain and sadness make such beautiful music… I could listen to this endlessly, so long as I don’t focus too intently on the lyrics/story, although they do go together so well.

love your analysis! I have one question, though: do you think that Faouzia does most of these interesting/clever things (like the altered rhythm in „so-o-o-ory“ and so on) intentionally or do you think she does some of them intuitionally? Before watching your videos I had no clue about all the details in her performances. I actually just enjoyed them a lot as a whole. But now I can’t help but wonder how much of it was thought through and how much just came naturally to her, because all of it seems so incredibly effortless 😄

I can't believe you're not a BTS fan (Army). Their musicality is incredible and their music is so varied that you can't listen to a couple of songs and understand why they're so great. But as far as the songs that show off their singing listen to The Truth Untold (poetry, by the way, with all 4 of the vocal line) and Epiphany which is Jin singing. Also check out V's (Taehyung's) individual work. Also, I never liked rap until I listened to AgustD (Suga, real name Min Yoongi) and found it more musical than any rap I'd ever heard. I actually love the 3 rappers together especially Cypher 4 which is just catchy, which I would not normally associate with rap. The 4 in the vocal line are all completely different singers and all great. I think you're missing out olif you do not do a deep dive into their music. By the way, have you checked out Zhou Shen and Hua Chenyu? Do that too.
