Sir,I cannot overstate how much I cherish your analysis and reactions! This was great. Please consider Adam's version of Who Wants To Live Forever from his concert with Queen in the Isle of Wight which took place the day after the massacre at the Pulse Nightclub in Orlando Florida. Adam dedicated the song to the victims and it's extremely moving. Thanks again, from a fan in Las Vegas! ❤ 👍

🌟I have been an Adam Lambert fan since he was on American Idol 2008. I'm a Glambert (as well as a Pentaholic). I've seen Adam in concert 12 times, he is AMAZING!!! Adam is such an INCREDIBLE vocalist and performer EXTREMELY charasmatic A voice that comes once in a lifetime (as per Brain May of Queen) Brian also calls him a Gift From God! Brian May and Roger Taylor ABSOLUTELY LOVE HIM!! Adam has EXCELLENT vocal control 🌟

I've always said that the best thing that happened to Adam Lambert was he did not win American Idol because that allowed him to build the career that he wanted rather than be marketed as a AI pop singer. Even with that statement, I think his rendition of Mad World on AI is remarkable and an indication of things to come.

Could not click fast enough! Once again I have heard this and watched this a million times and yet learned so much about it from you? Adam is another vocalist I have followed since the beginning, which for me was American Idol. And then, of course, he steps in as the front man for my favorite band Queen, while still doing his solo work, so of course I am very familiar with Adam Lambert. Described by Simon Cowell after his appearance on AGT singing Chandelier by Sia as “the nicest guy in Hollywood” in a throw back moment to American Idol but positive this time I think says a lot. He is so underrated it is unreal. We have gone through some growing pains with the entire Queen situation but he has been so kind and gracious about never stepping in as Freddie that over the years the vast majority have finally accepted him. He sings Queen songs wonderfully too. There is a documentary, available on KZread about that entire process which is fascinating, both from Queen’s perspective and Adam’s perspective. Asked in an interview the difference between his Solo touring and his Queen touring and he said, well with my Solo work I travel on a tour bus but with Queen we travel on private jets. 😂 He is remarkable in so many ways. I will stop now! Thanks SH! T ✌🏻

Superb! He also sang "I got you babe" there with Cyndi Lauper. It's with excellent reason that Queen guitarist Dr. Sir Brian May calls Adam the GFG (Gift from God)! In 2019 during the first American branch of their Rhapsody Tour, Brian and Roger Taylor started calling Adam their "new/slightly younger brother"! There is no arguing with that! He's been singing with Queen for all these years and he still has these moments where he hits those stratospheric notes and Brian and Roger have these looks on their faces that are a mix of astonishment/surprise and such love and pride for him and they are grinning from ear to ear, it's priceless! Please check out more Adam! Pretty much, every time he sings, he is otherworldly divine! His rendition of Led Zepplin's "Whole Lotta Love" on American idol (that also officially attracted the attention of Queen keyboardist Spike Edney), "love kills" (live at Iheart radio), and "Marry the night" during his guest his appearance on "Glee" among so many others are superb. In fact, while performing in Bologna in 2022, Adam even broke into a surprise rendition of "Nessun Dorma" and totally brought the house down! I saw him with Queen live, in person last November and it was easily one of the best nights of my life!

Loved this. I saw queen in 1985 at Wembley stadium and am a huge fan. I also saw the American idol series with Adam Lambert. His performances with Kiss and queen were outstanding. He does not sound like Freddie, he does not copy Freddie. He just has a world class voice that fits Freddie's songs perfectly. The new queen recordings from "Live Round the world" are fantastic. Recorded with modern technology they brings a crispness that was not possible in the 80's, and I think Adams annunciation is fantastic. There are phrases Adam sings that I could not make out from Freddie's performances. I cant tell if that is due to new Microphone technology or Adams style but it is great. "Who wants to live forever" from Isle Of White next.

Thank you for a wonderful analysis. I first heard Adam on American Idol and was floored by his renditions of "Whole Lotta Love" and "Mad World". Queen keyboardist Spike Edney heard him and brought him to the attention of Brian and Roger. They never thought they would find anyone that could sing the full range of Queen's catalogue until they heard Adam. He can sing anything! Adam even sung Nessun Dorma when Queen were touring Italy. Check out the Live Around the World versions of Love Kills, Who Wants To Live Forever and The Show Must Go On.

I 'discovered" Adam during his run on American Idol years ago - his powerful voice and risky arrangements won me over! Plus, he has a very flamboyant style that is so fun to see. Anythinig you do with him will be outstanding and I'll be watching. Though your musical analysis sometimes goes over my head when you break down chords, etc., I find your explanations informative and fascinating none-the-less. I look forward to seeing new reactions from you pop up in my feed. I see another commenter mentions a performance Adam did in response to the Pulse nightclub shooting. Another musical response to that disaster for you to check out is Superfruit and a couple friends (Superfruit is Scott & Mitch from PTX) singing Rise by Katy Perry. Brian Justin Crum performs with them and is another voice that you might enjoy analyzing - his performance on America's Got Talent (AGT) singing Creep is a frequent place to start.

Adam was a contestant on American Idol many years ago and became a real standout in many ways… he particularly got to me when he covered Mad World on the show. While he’s not a regular on my playlist he can rule a power ballad, but also can rein in that power like he does through so much of this performance. Range, Power, Control, Presence… = Adam Lambert. And that annual event always packs a star-studded audience. Now I Believe I’ll go see if he’s revisited Mad World in the years since American Idol..🎶🌟 (yay! New Egg!)

I'm starting to think you got your knighthood when you became Sir Hairless, Royal Music Analyzer. Cheers!

Haha yes, this is my first time listening. Then when I pause I obviously can go back to listen to parts to make sure the information I'm saying is correct...so it's like: listen > pause & go back and check & speak > continue listening to next section > repeat process for next section Certain things - such as chest voice going up / head voice down etc - are much easier (for me, anyway) to notice than the more technical things regarding harmonic progressions. I imagine it's why there are few channels out there who talk about the harmony underneath, and there are many who focus on just the voice I like the title of Sir Hairless, Royal Music Analyzer Thanks

He is absolutely worth checking out with Queen but his solo stuff is fantastic too. So while I second everyone recommending the Isle of Wight performance of Who wants to live forever, my suggestion for some more exploration is his own song "Closer to you" (live session). I love the explanation of the role of the instrumentation. One of my favourite performances of his is "Pick U Up" but sadly I dont think there's a live version of it. If you want to hear his pure vocals check out his performance of "Come to Me" from when he was just 22. It's a show tune but absolutely fantastic. The sustained notes he sings is why people are convinced he has a 3rd lung. kzread.info/dash/bejne/dn6N29OzhdWcmrg.html

I first saw Adam, in the 2008 American Idol show. Even though he did not win, I knew that he would be fine. I know some of your members have asked for some songs that Adam sings with Queen. I was wondering if you would consider analyzing a song Adam sang in 2008. It is “Mad World?” If you can, I think you would enjoy it. Adam, of course delivered a very emotional and respectful rendition of this iconic song.

I am assuming from your accent that you are not American and therefore may not know about the Kennedy Center Honours. They are given out annually to performance artists for lifetime achievement. There are typically 5 or 6 honourees a year taken from music, stage and screen, so it is a very highly respected award. The honourees current and past are the ones you see wearing the fun rainbow collars during the awards. Lin Manuel Miranda was notable for being exceptionally young at the time the honour was given.

"Was sitting on [plane] and thinking...“Adam Lambert’s version of 'Believe' is BEYOND COMPREHENSION." '..Adam Lambert. Many People Sing.
