They said they're so fit to triple times like you said. so their own songs are quite many on 3/4 like waltz.

For me one of their best songs. I love these voices that seem like one, constantly floating high, triggering a flood of elation within me. A beautiful, complex melody and THAT singing! Like a very emotional journey that somehow exudes hope. (Somehow very difficult to explain without being cheesy). Incidentally, the orchestra recordings took place in the USA and were only transmitted with a delay one day before the first concert. The group barely had time to rehearse and, according to interview, were quite nervous.

Forestella is the perfect alchemy of individual voices coming together to form this powerful whole. I have never experienced any other group with such stunning harmonious power their voices can launch me from terra firma to the outer realms of the universe and back again. A bit dramatic, yes, but then that's the power of music and I don't mind sounding silly if it allows me to honor the musicians I love. And I agree with everything you said, about Kang Hyeon-ho, Sir. I adore him, in the most respectful, purest way. Even in this video he (casually) adjusts his ear-piece then hits the note you speak about. But I love the other 3 too, they all make up this rich "Forestella" sound. Any film-maker would be lucky to have them sound track their movie. Thank you Sir, for your excellent analysis. I watched it 3 times before trying to comment. Sometimes words are so inadequate, so I'll just have to imagine myself presenting Forestella with a bouquet of wildflowers, and whispering, "thank you". And a rose for our amazing KZread teacher, "Sir". :)

Thanks to react to Forestella once more ❤️❤️❤️❤️ SH you are right about the M/V imagens has been captured in two different concerts where Forestella presented this song to the fans for the first time and the dancers’s performance comes only at the end of the song. About the voice’s range I dare to say that more you analyze other originals/covers by them more surprise you’ll be… HyngHo can sing surprisingly low either, Mingyu has a stunning falsetto (you hear it in specific songs as usually he leaves this part to HyungHo), Doohoon reach both - too high and too low tones - and even Woorim can be surprisingly higher (you’ll hear that specially when he sing solo some songs)! They are really outstanding! On 13:35 Mingyu is singing together (as you’ll will see on the video link below if you have time to watch it) but I’m not sure if it’s him as the 2nd mezzo-soprano sound or if it’s a Hyung Ho’s multi-track . Sir, you've seen via our comments on your Forestella videos that basso Ko WooRim is fulfilling his 18 months serving in the military (through May 2025). The older three members continue appearing on the show Immortal Songs2, as well as pursuing their solo work. Their first appearance as a trio was in January, performing Queen's The Show Must Go On (a propos). In the video I watched, they were preceded by a wild electric guitar solo by one of S Korea's old-school rock guitarists, from the '70s-'80s, Kim SooChul (age 67). I think you'd enjoy this video. My favorite original song by Forestella 🤍🖤 Many people say this song feels like it should be in a movie soundtrack it has such an uplifting & epic feel. Thank you for your analysis, it always increases my appreciation of a song. Wonderful reaction as usual. Cho Mingyu is the other high tenor, he is classified as a leggero tenor so can sing huge range and has shown his higher range in a small number if performances.

Thank you for yet another amazing analysis and reaction. Please react to them singing Champions ( The Seoul Festa version is the best It is according to me their most epic performance to date). Another epic song is Lazenca Save Us. However, if you want something a lot more crossover listen to Parla Piu Piano (Kang Hyung Ho surprised me with his beautiful tenor voice ), Dell Amore Non Si Sa or Un' Altra Vita. If you want to listen to something in Korean please listen to As I Live and Words From The Wind. If you want something a little more modern Bad Romance, Descpasito or We are the Champions are superb as well. However in the end it does not really matter because I have yet to hear them singing anything I don't like. I am enjoying your ride down the Forestella rabbit hole so I will stay tuned.

One of my favorite Forestella songs is 'Legends Never Die'. It's up tempo, with a great light show. I apparently watch it so often that the 2 year old I babysit has started singing along, mimicing the singers as they move. It's a wonderful song, I would live for you to react to it.❤❤

I'm so happy you love Forestella ❤ My absolute favourite of theirs is Inner Universe. They sing in English, Russian and Latin and its so beautiful, almost choral in some parts. Another favourite is their Legends Never Die. Thanks for your fantastic review and analysis on top notch level! Second to none, I rather say. Well, Forestella showed their originality and creativity with covers as well, such a masterpiece like Bohemian Rhapsody for example. Forestella Queen's Best Songs video on KBS Jeonju channel can hint you how they digested Queen. But I like to promote their playful side as well, you will never imagine how they made My Favorite Things! Yes the song from the Sound of Music! They gave the song some Disney vibe and Halloween vibe at the same time! I think the spooky mood was suceeded in their original song Snow Globe. Something like Tim Burton's the Nightmare before Christmas. You have seen their EPIC side so far, it's only a tiny tip of huge iceberg. Forestella is very versatile, they sang waltz, jazz, rock, pop, trot, balad, popera, rockpera, KukAk (Korean traditional music) style, oriental crossover, even Kpop! Surprisingly, this crossover quartet has original Kpop songs. Their KOOL is so BTS-ish, Stuck in a maze includes even hip-hop! See the 2 classical vocals rapping with such a clear diction they should've studied very well for classical singing! 😂 I can sing along the isiZulu lyrics they added on Shape of You, as I've heard it a thousand times lol. (I'm trying to make you curious lol) I know you already got tons of recommendations, so I put some baits here... Small things about UTOPIA; -They released the concept photos before launching the m/v, Cho MinGyu wore a snake ring even though Ko WooRim was who gave the apple to HyungHo. -The tree was burning in the credit of UTOPIA, HyungHo was representing the Fire in Save our lives. -I reminded that Prometeus brought the Fire to human and there begins civilization. -The backprint of their capes in the tree burning scene is the same as the packprint of their Bad Romance (at Immortal Songs) costumes, they said Bad Romance was a concept bridge between Save our lives and UTOPIA. I have more, please consider one of my recommendation to react the next!

​@@LupalucreciaFYI, Cho MinGyu wrote Recuerdos de Buenos Aires, not Innocent Macho. He composed it and wrote the lyrics in Spanish, sang it in Argentine accent.

My Musicians' Union days are long past, and I was getting frustrated that all but a handful of reaction channels seemed to know anything about the voice. You've renewed my hope for future generations. One question, though. Why do no reaction channels consider boy trebles and choirs which include them, worthy of analysis?

Never underestimate the higher range of Cho Mingyu. He has hit the highest note we’ve heard from Forestella at a C6. I think the highest we get from Hyungho is a Bb5 (although we’ve heard him hit C6 in a challenge against a soprano on a tv show, just not in a Forestella song). Mingyu has the voice that tends to be used to blend them all together and Hyungho is the master of the higher range, so I think those parts default to Hyungho. (See Forestella’s Magic Castle or Cho Mingyu’s live performance of Be More for some examples). I am fairly sure that this was two actual performances that they used for the footage. I love the black and the white since we are talking about White (light) and Night (Black). It’s not the third song in the trilogy, but it thematically fits the narrative. Recommendations for Forestella songs that I think you will enjoy - (Covers) Inner Universe. Lazenca, Save Us. Hijo de la Luna. Time in a Bottle. Magic Castle. Nella Fantasia. Spread Silk on my Heart. I think Cho MinGyu even reaches higher notes. The difference between them is that HyungHo sings lines or even entire songs (like solo as PITTA e.g. with his version of "Forsaken" (Within Temptation) in full head voice, while MinGyu reaches extremely high tones in pure falsetto. But in this group EVERYONE has an incredible range of tones, and yet completely puts aside his personal ego for the benefit of the team. Only Kang HyungHo and Ko WooRim are noticed more by most people because of their rare tones.

@@j.f.3342 they really have outstanding individual ranges. I love to hear Hyungho go low and Doohoon go high, they can flip it around so fast too. I have to say that I was shocked that Mingyu was taking a lot of the low lines now that Woorim isn’t available. I honestly throught they would set those on Doohoon… leave it to Forestella to catch me offguard. LOL. Each one of them has a very interesting and unique sound and when they come together they make magic. They are amazingly humble too, always supporting each other’s solo careers and lifting each other up. They are really worth every fan they get. ❤️🌲💫

And they really put aside their personal ego in the benefit of the music as Hyung Ho once said that they decided to do like that in a Forestella’s livestream and we see that happens in songs were one or another of them almost don’t have solo parts in the song but do an amazing job in harmony. They simply love music and we love them and the music they do together or separately. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Thank you for your analysis of White Night. When I listen to Forestella on my playlist it is not always easy to work out who is actually singing. Their command of English is impressive. Have you thought of giving us your analysis of Forestella’s Italian songs Nella Fantasia which I think is set to Ennio Moriccone’s. ‘ Gabriel’s Oboe ‘ & In Un’Altra Vita.

Thank you for another great reaction❤ This was a music video composed of two live concert performances over 2 days hence the change in costumes you noticed. WHITE NIGHT was remastered on their latest mini album,UNFINISHED, which was released in November 2023 which included 2 new songs And music videos Chagall’s Dream,a montage of their Forestella FESTIVAL 2023 , released the same day as a temporary farewell to the bass singer Ko Woorim who is the last member yet to complete his mandatory military service, entering November 20th 2023 ..he will complete that on 19th May 2025... and SNOW GLOBE …composed by Kang HyungHo when Forestella was confined to a hotel for about a week in Dallas, Texas due to a snow storm while on their N.American tour in January 2023. Not a Christmas song and another song to react to, they advised that it is an autobiographical with 4 stories intertwined. This was HyungHo’s first composition for Forestella, though he has written, composed and produced many songs as his rock persona in PITTA(all caps) band with another member Lee EunWoo, debuting his solo career alongside Forestella activity in 2021 after releasing his 1st solo single UNIVERSE in October 2020❤ He has been a rocksinger and self-taught vocalist and musician since the original band PITTA formed at university where he studied chemical engineering, followed by his military service then worked 4 years as a research chemist while he continued as their part-time frontman and guitarist until the band dissolved and he joined a workband before auditioning for Phantom Singer 2 in 2017 where Forestella was born. HyungHo is FORESTELLA’s Vocal arranger, vocal director and a producer, with input from the others as needed. They have been extremely busy as a trio and with their solo careers during Woorim’s absence. Queen’s SHOW MUST GO ON aired on 6th January on a special episode of KBS Immortal Songs: Kim Soo-Cheol & New Friends where Forestella and a few others were invited whom the legendary guitarist had not met or played with before…also performed a rearranged Hijo De La Luna for 3 voices. In March, this time a contest on Immortal Songs Artist Edition Episode, performed Kim Bum Soo’s A STORY SADDER THAN SORROW. Then most recently in early April, before HyungHo’s wedding on the 13th, performed at KBS KTX’s 20th anniversary… Chagall’s Dream, live. and another rendition of Hijo De La Luna as a trio.

This "m/v" is recordings from 2 of their live concerts and the background visuals are standard for their concerts. After its release, many people chose “White Night” for the III. Part of the trilogy because this song fits thematically exactly to the previous two pieces. But they announced in interviews that the III. Part still pending.

Thanks for the info. I read in some comments that "White Night" was considered the 3rd part by some people, but it didn't make sense to me. They've always released a music video with 3 acts for the first two parts and they didn't do this with "White Night". So I'm looking forward to part 3. I guess we will have to wait until Woorim joins them again next year.

Thank you for your deep and enlightening reaction! 💚 I'm coming to Forestella's work from a storyteller's perspective, and your insightful musical analysis enhances my understanding of their songs greatly. I agree that they are immensely creative! White Night, to me, is one of their purely positive and uplifting songs, maybe the most hopeful. Both Save our Lives and Utopia carry a certain unresolved tension in them; neither is Utopia fully dystopian nor Save our Lives fully euphoric. The same goes for Snow Globe, Kang Hyungho's first composition for Forestella. This unresolved tension between light and dark is there as well. I see it less in White Night - although it's right there in the title. But I think it gets resolved in the very first lines of the song, at least lyrically. The White Night is the place where the contradictions are resolved - between light and dark, nature and art, the I and the You. Secrets are shared, colours are freed, true songs are being sung - probably in harmony 😉 The artist experiences true belonging, the adventure can begin. - Did I mention that I love this song? 😅 Regarding the line "oceans crash like a storm" - I agree that out of context it seems negative and threatening, but I think that in context, it simply signifies awe-inspiring nature, just like the rising mountains and the sea of trees. Even the crash seems to be more about power and dynamic than potential destruction, given how triumphantly Hyungho sings it each time. You can feel the waves break on the note 🌊. Nature is powerful, and in this song the artistic human being is part of that creative force - in a way that they aren't in Utopia or even Save Our Lives. Mini-essay over. 😅 Thanks again, Sir Hairless!

Perhaps it's worth remembering Dostoyevsky's White Nights, his famous short story about isolation, loneliness, and the disorientation of the 'white nights' of the arctic circle, where the sun doesn't set for several several months. People can't sleep.. night is turned to day, or twilight. St. Petersburg (where the story takes place) celebrates an annual White Nights festival during that period. While the light is relief from unending darkness, body clocks don't work well, and for many its a time of profound upset, and quite the opposite of heavenly or utopian.

You can seewhy Dimash has often been guessed to be South Korean.

"Colors" have symbolic significance in S. Korean culture. I don't know much about it but suspect that those who do know would find the phrase "show your colors" illuminating in understanding the lyrics in White Night.

mingyu can also sing falsetto, but i honestly don't know if that's him or not. i didn't really discern that there was another level of falsetto until you pointed it out! my ears are tuned to hyungho at that particular moment in the song. this was recorded over 2 consecutive days during their concert tour last summer.

Through the single album 'UTOPIA', they sang about the theme of utopia in modern society where human desire has reached its peak and the dystopia of nature that has been brutally destroyed and reached its limits, and asked the question of where do we stand and what is a true utopia? . 'White Night' is a song that expresses the endless questions and agony about true utopia by comparing them to the midnight sun, a natural phenomenon in which night never comes, that is, eternity, where time does not pass, and the will to escape from this, and their struggle to regain utopia. It was captured. Like the lyrics of the song, by revealing and exploding the beautiful colors inside, we find our true self and take a step toward utopia. At the border between utopia and dystopia, isn't it ourselves that we need to find?

Also, something random but when you mentioned that there's voices in the background to make it sound thicker, that is Bae Dohoon's voice no doubt. He can sing crazy high. Agh man... Hopefully you list some Forestella for next month cause I believe I will move to Aurora with requests since the poll didn't help her and the song "Through the eyes of a child" is beautiful but I don't think shows her magic as well as "Murder (5,4,3,2,1)" Live at the 2015 Peace Prize Concert does. I love it but I think it is not for the first listen of Aurora. Anyways great job! Loving everything you are putting out. Dimash Daybreak is another insane one you updated... Just crazy shit.

Thank you for covering this. Forestella is beyond amazing. I really enjoyed your video and to learn more about the technical aspects. The other voice you heard I'm pretty sure that was not Kang Hyungho multi tracking but Cho Mingyu. Their music is so amazing it's otherworldly. For me personally oceans crashing like a storm is not negative but positive. It's an awakening of the soul like they sing about, the power of nature. To me this song is all about nature and our return to it. I also love how you pronounce their names so accurately (imo). After they released kool which is seperate but does have the apple in it from Utopia. All of their music is amazing, their originals as well as their covers.

Now this one I can really enjoy very much… it still has the contrasts & contradictions, but remained fully enjoyable. While (for me) Utopia was both astonishing and traumatizing to my brain , this one will be much nicer to return to multiple times without feeling like I need to brace myself to Utopia’s extent. So I guess this isn’t the finale of the trilogy, it’s a beautiful recovery interlude so I can be ready for the finale to the trilogy, which by other comments, sounds like it won’t be till next year at least. Yes, this was very nice.
