If i recall, a proposed origin of that myth is when people were out in the bogs and everglades, was that when they were spooked on water they would use it to get to land as quickly as possible regardless of weather the human that spooked them was also moving in that direction.

You haven’t. Snakes coming towards you doesn’t equate to being chased. There is a reason there isn’t a single video in existence of a cottonmouth chasing someone despite phone cameras and GoPros being used. They move about 1-2mph so there is plenty of time to video.

To those who say they've been chased by a cottonmouth, what reason did the preydriven snake have for chasing you , who they can't eat? Because the only reason i can think of is you deliberately antagonized it, and they were doing warning strikes because they couldn't slither away like they wanted.

The predator birds are very food motivated. Then again, most of the time, them flying is to get food.

People also make and sell starling traps online, make sure to let any non-starlings out and simply dump the trap in a vat of water (kiddie pool/trash, can etc) to dispatch as many starlings as possible at one time. Help save your local birds from these devils
