no gimmicks id hope not its measuring a snake

So she is a Eastern Diamondback? She seems to have a slightly different pattern than the very few Eastern Diamondbacks I have seen in the wild. The rattlesnakes I have had experience with that can get to a good size, is the Western Diamondback and the Pacific which doesn't get as large. I largest I have delt with were a little over fou feet long.

This is a canebreak rattlesnake (Crotalus horridus)

I'm curious why you went to so much effort to find out how long the rattlesnake is. You've clearly expert in handling snakes, but what was to stop that snake biting you while you moved it from one place to another? In fact, I saw the snake strike at you, and it looked like it got pretty close to biting you. That was one angry rattlesnake - I could hardly believe how loud the rattles were - like a swarm of cicadas. How do you ensure you don't get bitten? During the video, I thought I saw several opportunities the snake could have taken to attack you.

The hooks used to handle snakes keep them a safe distance away to prevent a bite. At no point was I in danger of being bitten, knowing that comes with time and experience. The point of measuring it was to demonstrate how it’s done safely and to add the length to my personal database

Looks like a smart way to measure one, but still… Hell no for me. 😅
