Hunting Grey Squirrel With A Harris Hawk & Decker Terrier!

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

This is a short cinematic style video of one our recent hunts. We use falconry to hunt eastern grey squirrels here in the SE US! The eastern grey squirrel is a formidable quarry for even a trained raptor and falconry gives us a front row seat to hunting in one of its rawest forms! All catches made by the birds are used to feed them throughout the year. Falconry in the US required permits to legally perform. #falconry #hawk #dog #hunting #huntingdog #harrishawk #squirrelhawking #squirrel

Yes, Decker Rat Terrier, a breed started by Milton Decker back in the 70’s. They’re a larger breed of rat terrier ranging from 20-30lbs with a calmer demeanor.

So sad and wrong. How do you call yourself a wildlife rehabilitator when you do things like this?

Hannah, I am allowing a raptor to express its natural instinct to hunt. Essentially the greatest form of enrichment I can provide a captive predator. A hawk will hunt and kill regardless of human presence. The dog is just there to help the hawk, doing what it was bred to do. You may want to take a step back and try to come to an understanding of how nature works. Wildlife rehab serves as a way to give wildlife a second chance when needed, outside of that we have no business interfering in natural processes. Otherwise I expect to see you out in every field shooing every hawk away from every rat. But then again, who are you to prevent a predator from procuring it’s food? Nobody. That’s who.

@@bethsparks6067 shooing, not shooting. I guess your ignorance bleeds into your reading comprehension.

If y'all are wildlife rehabilitators why would you send your dog out for fun like this. Y'all are horrible!
