I find your videos Fascinating the denomination I grew up in has Ana baptist roots, I have a few questions for you I would love to hear your take on The radical reformation. One question I have some people look at the harsh treatment of Ana baptists during the radical reformation and justify there harsh treatment because they were considered dangerous radicals , the Munster rebellion gave them a bad name , the courage , and comitment most Ana baptist have is truly amazing. They live their Christian belief.

Thank you so much for making this video. My great grandparents were living in Chortitza at the time and my Grandma said they never talked about it. My great uncle died there, and I wonder if other family members did too. Even though it’s horrible what they went through, it’s so important to learn this history. Did you ever read Arthur Kroeger’s book “Hard Passage”?

There were no popes nor "Christian" priests before Constantine the Great who was the creator of the Catholic religion in the 300's AD in which he was the first "pope" known as "Pontifex Maximus". Constantine persecuted the Donatists because they would not unite nor conform to this new "Christianity" = Catholicism. They where the radical Christian's at this time. Like the Anabaptists where the Radical's during the time of the Reformation. noun (in ancient Rome) the head of the principal college of priests. (in the Roman Catholic Church) a title of the Pope. WOW! I'm only 1:20 into this. I had no idea Hutterite numbers dwindled that close to extinction. My dad's dad's dad's family has been in America since 1605. But my dad's dad's mom was only a 2nd or 3rd generation American, because her Ancestors fled here to Pennsylvania in 1745, from Rhineland-Palatinate, Bad Dürkheim, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany. Ironically, he ended up in South Dakota, which is where my dad's dad's dad lived, and subsequently, my (great grandfather and great grandma) got Married in Keremeos, BC, and settled in Oroville Wa in 1910. I'm anxious to learn all I can about the Hutterites.

In the Book of Acts the believers had all things in common. But this goes along with being babtised as in Acts 2:38. I am Apostolic Pentecostal. We do not have communities as you. We believe in our women and men to dress modest attire. How do you babtise? Wearing a head covering for women is not biblical. It is a choice. Woman’s hair is her glory.

You probably know this, but I'm reading other accounts which say starving Russians were turned away by this community and some were resentful that they were required to serve in war while the Mennonites got a pass. I do really want to know the truth of all of this and I'm not excusing what happened. Revolution and any type of broad military actions leaves innocent victims. What I do have to say, as a citizen of the USA, what I'm mostly angry about it being lied to about all this by my government. This does cause me to defend the Bolsheviks. But what I also know is they struggled with their collective farms. I've often defended that by saying they started with a starving agrarian society under the czars. They did not have a developed family-farm model like we did in the USA across Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio (many German immigrants including Anabaptists). I still think that is generally true, but here, they wound up attacking a community that could have really helped them devise more effective agriculture more quickly. Do you think that's a fair assessment? I will also note, Jesus did say to sell all you own and give it to the poor. Once in Matthew and once in Luke IIRC. I know that no Christian does that, and I wouldn't do it either. Jesus didn't say it was a sin not to do it, he didn't say it gives anyone license to attack you if you don't do it. But he did say to do it. right? Let's be real here. I don't think you making a video defending property ownership (while a perfectly acceptable political view) is in any way "Christian". Anyway, thanks for the video, this is important for me to learn about.

The Mennonites were given autonomy in their village and we're not required to conscript into the military as part of the agreement for them to come and farm that land. Both Catherine the great and her grandson made this stipulation when they put out the call for people in Germany and Poland to come and be given land to farm. keep in mind this was land that the Russians had access to but we're unable to farm and the reason that they got the German farmers was because they were notoriously good farmers able to invent and create new hybrid species that were able to grow in those areas. When Catherine's grandson decided to finally make the germans pacifist be part of the military a lot of them left the country and that's when my family left the country. Also one of the reasons they were targeted was because they were devoutly Christian and all the leader ship or almost all of the leader ship of the Bolsheviks were atheist Jews who became Zionist or were Zionist at the time. They today in Israel spit on Christians and they really despise Christians so that was happening way before the conflict with Christians in Palestine. Ingrid Rimland wrote a series of historical fiction about it called Lebensraum and it depicts alot of what happened. That area was part of the Holodomer which was when the Soviets purposely starved over 10 million people by confiscation of grain, seed and all resources. This was part of the Russian Revolution. Marxist Bolshevism was the cause. It was the largest mass deaths from manmade starvation in history.

@@ageofadversity My family was also Anabaptist and had difficulty with the state and state church. Partly the reason they moved to the USA in the late 1800's, partly because of the availability of farmland. I'm very sympathetic to these Mennonite farmers, and it's true the Soviet Union struggled with their collective farms. But they grew to lead the world in tractor production. We see in these stories that there were starving people coming to these Mennonites BEFORE the revolution. This should tell you there's a big flaw in your claim that the Soviet's intentionally starved people. You claim 10 million, where did that number come from? Investigate the data objectively and you'll find numbers, claims all over the place. It is very sad what happened to these farmers who could have helped the Soviets feed people, but why would revolutionaries overthrowing a government care what arrangement they had with the existing government? Look, Anabaptists should know as well as anybody the danger of letting the state get into your church. This includes the US government. Are you teaching Christianity to the best of your ability, or are you teaching the US government narrative? One thing that might be troubling to you is the early Christian churches used a very extreme form of communism, everyone who joined sold their property and divided all their money equally. This does not mean all Christian churches should do this I don't think, but it probably does mean when you hear a "Christian" say something like "communism never works" it's a big problem. That's like saying the Christian church doesn't work. It doesn't make any sense. Also, your idea that Bolshevik's were "Jews" is ridiculous. There were all sorts of Bolsheviks. Furthermore, Stalin brought Christianity back. Do you ever hear anyone praise Stalin for bringing Christianity to the atheist Soviet Union? I'll bet you don't. Why not? Maybe the narrative has some flaws, ya think?

An infallible Bible is of not much value without an infallible interpreter. To read John Chapter six on the bread of life discourse and conclude that Christ was speaking symbolically, and not as a matter of fact seems absurd. Asking the simple question why would Jesus allow a great many of His followers to leave Him when they obviously believed He was speaking literally if He was actually speaking symbolically? He would have said "stop don't go, I wasn't speaking literally but symbolically." "The Jews quarreled among themselves, saying, “How can this man give us [his] flesh to eat?” Jesus said to them, “Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you. Whoever eats[g] my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day. For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him. Just as the living Father sent me and I have life because of the Father, so also the one who feeds on me will have life because of me. This is the bread that came down from heaven. Unlike your ancestors who ate and still died, whoever eats this bread will live forever.” These things he said while teaching in the synagogue in Capernaum." - John 6:52-59 "Then many of his disciples who were listening said, “This saying is hard; who can accept it?” John 6:60 "Since Jesus knew that his disciples were murmuring about this, he said to them, “Does this shock you? What if you were to see the Son of Man ascending to where he was before?[ It is the spirit that gives life, while the flesh[j] is of no avail. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and life. But there are some of you who do not believe.” Jesus knew from the beginning the ones who would not believe and the one who would betray him. And he said, “For this reason I have told you that no one can come to me unless it is granted him by my Father.” - John 6:61-65 "As a result of this, many of his disciples returned to their former way of life and no longer accompanied him." John 6:66 The fact is Jesus was speaking as a matter of fact and that is why they quit following Him! Sadly most Christians have such a weak faith they cannot bring themselves to believe in the True Presence of Christ in the Holy Eucharist, especially in these Dark End Times.

Excellent summation. I have heard it before, but not on video. I heard it from an Orthodox priest who had converted from a Protestant non-denom denomination. ... ... According to the Roman Catholics, the Orthodox remain 'heretics' as well as schismatics ... and they have NO apostolic authority. ... Meanwhile ... actual leaders of the Russian, Assyrian, and Greek Orthodox say - the original issue is moot, but they cannot abide the heresies introduced by the Roman Catholics. If you listen closely, the Romans are supremacists, while the Orthodox have no clue as to the inner workings of the RCC. ... And also the Orthodox have another issue - that we can see playing out in Gaza right now ...

Sadly, we as western Anabaptists are quick to celebrate our pas with blood, sweat, and tears, but are masterful at restructuring these values to accommodate our lifestyle of consumerism. I believe those that have a vision to "return" these lifestyle values have a platform that will attract and inspire a generation that is looking for the authentic. They have no interest in our fluffed up dead rabbits. The opportunity is in modeling what we believe in leu of taking and glorifying it. Again, Thank you

I'm Greek Orthodox. The Orthodox Church is the original christian church, 2000 years old, founded AD 33 by Jesus Christ himself and the Apostles. It is Christ's church. Was known as the Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. It was the church, the only church, upto 1054 with the Great Schism, where the west seperated from the east to become Roman Catholic under the Pope, and the original church to be the Eastern Orthodox Church under the Patriach today based in Constantinople, maintaining the original christian doctrine. So in effect, in my opinion, the West deviated from the original church doctrine to form their own style, through disagreement or whatever. Who knows my friends, perhaps Satan behind the scenes was behind the Schism in order to split the church and christianity in antagonism with God. Without sounding melodramatic, I believe Satan fears the Orthodox Eastern Church (original church) but has no fear for the Roman Catholic Church. Orthodox Church: Founder, Jesus Christ. Roman Catholic: Founder, Leo IX
