Amazing video love watching you EV train keep it up
When people years ago said breeding for good pokemon is addictive I did not believe them. But after returning to Emerald, I have spent 160+ hours breeding several battle frontier worthy pokémon. I think I'm now going to stop and actually try some of my teams out though lol. Just finished breeding a decent enough snorlax. Time to ev train and then onto the battle frontier!
i enjoy the breeding and training but yes I agree, you need to put the pokes to battle to ha!
So glad you're doing this. I thought it was literally just me in the world still playing emerald battle frontier. 💪 Thanks bro
I LOVE breeding in pokemon emerald. I do it mainly to chill out now. Create some creative and fun pokemon to use in BF. Currently making a max attack Kingler to use a salac/endure/flail set on lol.
I just got a copy of emerald and want to start my own frontier journey. Need to finish my current Leafgreen run before I start for training purposes. I’m thinking of Swampert (brave or relaxed not sure), Salamance (modest probably, maybe Hasty) and Metagross (Adamant choice band)
congrats man, your EV training guide are very useful to me.. Can you make a video on how to train a perfect pokemon in general?
i will sooon, it is on the to do list!
You literally put a cyber dragon in B tier, smh lol.
It would be slow but using exp. share in the Mt. Moon paras rooms you could combine attack EV grinding with mushroom grinding (for the move relearner).
Great vid! Really enjoyable :-)
I recently got all gold prints in heart gold battle frontier it is SUCH a good feeling. Battle Factory took soooo long to get and luck really has to be in your favor. It’s brutal and it takes a lot of patience. I enjoy watching these vids!
Love your videos
Does the Pokemon Guides (books) you have, show information of the EV yields a defeated Pokemon gives out? Just wanted to check because I'm interested in getting a physical guide seems they are pretty neat. Great vid! :)
they do not, they just show basic information. The online guide are better! Love the old guides tho for the nostalgia
Thank you for uploading. I've been diving back into emerald and I've never taken the battle frontier seriously. Watching your videos gets my excited to start taking it seriously - I've also gotten back into yugioh on master duel, so I enjoy the yugioh presence as well. Appreciate you,
enjoy the grinnnnd! Happy you like the content. I appreciate you as well
Is breeding emerald shiny hard
breeding for shinies just takes a while. I wouldnt say hard. Just time consuming
I wanted to say that it is not true that the eggmoves owned by the male who is at the pkmn guesthouse are always transferred. For example, when the pokemon is already almost full with moves, for example it has two or three to transfer (it happened to me that not all three were transmitted but only two, however I could be wrong and confused), by leveling up the guesthouse becomes a move deleter... so after a while you will have to remember to collect it and order the moves so that the affected eggmove is at the bottom of the list of 4 moves, return it to the board and the next move learned by the pkmn will go into the slot in bottom, and the affected eggmove will move up to the third slot... repeat the process by picking it up and returning it to the guesthouse to keep the eggmove always present in its move list. I also wanted to add the explanation of the iv calculation copied and pasted from Pokemon Central Wiki: Third generation In Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, FireRed and LeafGreen, a total of 3 IVs are inherited from both parents. Each parent can provide 0 to 3 IVs, and the rest are provided by the other: the rest of the statistics are random. In Emerald the process is more complicated: A random IV from a random parent is passed on to the child. Another IV that is not from the PS is transmitted: if the statistic is the same as in the previous step, regardless of the parent it came from, the new value overwrites the old one. A last IV that is not HP or Defense is transmitted: if the statistic is the same as in one of the previous steps the old value is overwritten. The rest of the stats (3 to 5) are random.
Love seeing save files like this. This is why pokemon is great.
I love the pencil and paper brother keep at it ❤
That’s a nice looking steelix! I’m grinding the battle tower now too with my team of Flygon, Magneton, and Milotic. I haven’t broken through 50 wins yet. This is TOUGH
solid team! Best of luck you got it
I’m steadily grinding away emerald myself, been chipping away for years but this past month got back into it big time. Main targets being a living dex, all gold frontier medals & 1 ribbon master. Spent most of this week IV breeding a nice trio of Gyarados, Porygon2 & Heracross Love the videos! YT algorithm doing wonders putting your vids in my suggested 🎉
niceeee. Interesting team! Hope u get some medals soon. Glad the algo found your feed
Have you tried quick claw steelix and choice specs t tar?
choice specs not in this game! I was like wait why didnt i try this yet. And I do want to try quick claw on steelix. That will be a part of my tests
great update. yes man protect plus pressure is literally the goat. its not the most exciting gameplay but stall just crushes the battle tower.
If you don’t have this playing in the background while you’re also playing FR/LF/RBY/SPHR/ERLD, you’re not gaming. Simple 🫡
i agree everyone gota listen to ya
im fresh out man ive watched every single one!
facts
For Breeding I prefer soft reset method in Emerald,(itvis mentioned in Smogen article with detail) I got Lapras with 31 Iv's in Def & SpA
i havent looked into this but ill check it out!
Look into my soul 1:59
👀👀
bro I just got 2 gba sp's and emerald and fire red, the only problem is that the game are repo's, I started a fire red save on my steam deck but you motivated me to do it the old fashion way lol I'm currently looking for an authentic version of leaf green so i can transfer the pokemons to 4th gen later on but definitely not paying 225$ for it. but I'm super excited to start ev training tho.
TBH pokesav is free, I mainly use it to check IVs and when I'm done with gen 3 I'll get one level 5 pokemon to start Platinum with it alongside starter just to not mess up gamelay too much
Haven't clicked on a video so fast - I also love Steelix's design! From where do you get your strats? Smogon, forums or are those your own ideas?
i just wanna use my fav pokes. So i start there and then go on the battle frontier forms to get some ideas on moveset. Also try to figure it out on my own too
Uhhhhh I don't know if it's true they'll keep breeding the moves after leveling in daycare if not removed.. Maybe it is a Emerald feature? Ill look more into it without saving. Good to know!
Same goes for FRLG: while I was breeding my Pokemon learned parents old moves until I took them back. Then they started learning recent ones, so it's best to either keep serebii/bulbapedia open or breed high level parents with all necessary moves already learned
@@KingKoral That's what I do. Pretty much I keep an empty slot open if it's not a full list of moves to breed and won't always level up to the max before breeding. Am I gonna level a magmar parent until 59 for fireblast to be out of the way? Hell no. I keep an eye on levels in regards to moves learned and delete along the way.
@BugCatcher-S That's the way! I also switch moves on parents so the most important one is always 4th so I don't accidentally lose it
They will keep passing on the moves they knew when they entered the daycare even after they are deleted, but only in Emerald as far as I know. I was just testing it myself a few weeks ago, but I have not tried it in any other gen 3 game.
@@Bowsersoxdude interesting! Wonder if it is only in emerald. I remeber doing this in Fire red and the moves didnt transfer. It has been a while tho
The Tower Progress, is it against real people online ?
It's against AI. The GBA games natively never had online play.
Fun little fact you can face real player teams controlled by AI at the Battle Tower when you mix records. I feel like barely anyone knows about this feature 😅 "On occasion, the recorded players may be placed with the exact team, moveset, and stats in the spot they lost in the Battle Tower. For example, if the recorded player broke their streak and lost at the 45th battle, it is possible that the player will be able to fight the recorded player at the 45th battle."
@@Archon... Now I kinda wanna see someone team in the battle tower
Only beef I have with the AP is the crazy thick black bezel around the screen. They could have given us so much more screen real estate and would have made it a 10/10… instead the price and screen bezel leave much to be desired.
i never noticed this until i started editing my videos and was confused on why there the border is so thicc!
I only catch "Modest, mild, rush, quiet." Highest special attack 👍
Red eyes summoned?
Modest on Larvitar??
yea trying something dumb out haha
I got Charmander. Her Nature is jolly. I reset this and attempted 110+ to get Starter Pokemon because I need female Pokemon and Jolly Nature 😅😂
I thought I was the only one who ev trained my shinies. They feel like trophies after ev training especially when they have a good nature
Good replacement for linkuriboh is salamangreat almiraj
Just started trying to EV train a decent IV Dratini I got from the Games Corner after resetting a bunch of times and calculating IVs until getting one I liked, I looked online about EV training and found one guide which advised using the VS Seeker around specific trainers, I did this for a while but my Dratini wasn’t strong enough to efficiently take out the trainers two Pokemon, it was taking like 4 mins per encounter, so instead I decided I would stop this method and instead I’ll just continue progressing through the story (currently just beat 4th gym in fire Red) and every time I start a new trainer battle, mostly team rocket grunts atm, I check what EVs they yield when defeated, and then I sub in my Dratini when the opponent Pokemon yields EVs which I want (attack as it’s my highest IV and visible stat, and special attack even though Dragonite is a physical attacker, special attack is my 2nd highest IV and visible stat, and my hope is that will boost STAB attacks as dragon type moves are special. This is my theory at least, based on the mounds of information I’ve tried to take in over the last few days haha. It’s so confusing though, there are so many layers to Pokemon stats, and special vs physical was confusing too, like I thought Dratini was a physical attacker, so I assumed physical moves are the best, but then I learn that even though Dratini is physical, it’s also dragon type which is special, NOT physical, which gave me the idea to exploit the high attack/high sp attack IVs of the Dratini I’ve got, and turn it into an absolute dps god for both physical and special type attacks, with the extra boost from STAB moves being special. Sorry for getting carried away writing all this, probably just over enthusiastic haha I’d love your opinion on my Dratini plan though if you happen to see my comment! Thanks dude, really loving your videos!
So much respect brother I only ever played sapphire and emerald as a kid, as an adult I decided I wave experience early Pokemon games in chronological order, my plan is to play up to BW2 starting with FR as my first gen 1 experience. Now I’m not a kid anymore I want to try optimise my playthrough, so I’ve only just started dipping my toes into things like IVs, EVs etc, it’s pretty overwhelming, there’s so damn much information to learn, but your videos feel like such a good companion to watch as you’re playing from a very similar angle of just wanting to play the games to their faaarthest limit and create a save file which belongs in a damn museum (seriously though, amazing work with all those shinies!!) I’ve only just discovered your channel but I’m hoping you might have some more informational content on FRLG, I’ll watch through the playlist!
Jizukiru?
What about "Duality"
Hoping these are back in stock soon. Bought an Epilogue GBOperator to play my games on my computer in the meantime
so glad to see a maxed steelix. Still working on my shiny lugia, up to 4000 resets, taking much longer than I thought. Super excited to get it over with so I can continue working on my team. Thanks for the upload bro
Let me know when you find it! Giving you some luckk
Catching a wild pokemon in fire red, will it drop evs?
No you need to defeat the pokemon in battle. This is something I should have mentioned in the video.
Massive
I love this deck as a kid. Never care much what people said whether its good or not😂😂😂
Enjoying all the poke content man keep up the dope vids
Your shinies are incredible! They have such nice colors and they are legit. Amazing! I can imagine how much time you invested in getting them. Congratulations on this new saga! I'm looking forward to seeing more of your team in the Battle Frontier
Easiest way to train hp is going to the 100% dunsparce bush at three island I think
what is this method you speak of? Does dunsparce give a lot of exp?
@@nostalgicnighthawk no purely to get a 100% hp ev encounter
@@Shiny.Articuno ahh my bad i thought this was the level 100 video. And your right that is a great spot! I forgot about that
I Love you content ❤
I’m enjoying this content. Thank you. I hope you grow into a big KZreadr one day.
