How to Check and Breed for IVs in Pokemon FRLGRSE (No CHEATS)

Ойындар

In this video we chat about how to breed and check for IVs in the pokemon gba games. The most important game here is Emerald since there is a unique person in the Battle Frontier that helps us identify a Pokémon's IVs. Some things to keep in mind is that this takes a while and is an iterative process. Be patient! See the references below for more detailed information on specifics that I might have glossed over. This can get quite complicated.
NOTE: Having a pokemon first in your part with Synchronize ONLY works in Emerald. I forgot to mention that.

one important distinction about the smogon table for IVs is that unfortunately by level 5 a lot of poekmon dont have enough stat growth to really show big changes. that means even if say, a pokemon with 16 speed means they have 31 ivs in that stat, it could also be a range of like 25-31. thats why sometimes you will have the stat that the smogon chart says but the rater in emerald wont tell you its perfect

Just a heads up to anyone reading this worried about breeding to do post-game content like battle frontier : you really don't need to stress over perfect pokemon with good IVs. Really all you need is optimal natures and EV training. Ivs are mainly for pvp battling where you need to squeeze every drop of potential you can out of your pokemon.

agreed, spending too much time IV breeding can be somewhat of a waste of time. It takes a while to do. One to two IVs are somewhat easy to get and not time consuming however 3 starts to get tricky and 4+ is not worth it in my opinion!

Wish I found your channel earlier. Loved the dedication. I used to cheat heavily with Pokesav and Action Replay for competitive back in high school. But ever since XY the games have been so much better for making your Pokemon. For me though in Gen 3, looking at my pokemon's IV's in Pokesav has been so helpful. Also for Japanese games when I can't read the text I can just look at my sav file. I try to cheat as little as I can now but I did my share of cutting corners.

and there is nothing wrong with cheats or cutting corners. It just comes down to what you want out of the game! If I was focusing on competitive stuff, it would be too time consuming to grind all these pokemon like this so I probably wouldnt.

At the time of this comment, I have already been grinding for a month just to have a two bagons with two perfect stats. Wish me luck in the replies for my perfect dragon, Warlock, that I am wishing for 🙏🏻 Edit: Dittos were really only useful in the first step of getting a two perfect stat pokemon because it is exponentially more difficult to find an increasingly higher stat ditto than breed a different pokemon for good stats, and you cannot breed dittos themselves to get a better ditto.
