Dude your content is so amazing, I’ve been binge watching and now I just want to grab my 3DS and play Gen 2… it’s my favourite gen (although I really love every other gen), but watching these videos makes me understand that patient grinding and enjoyment is the way to go. Kudos to you and please, keep making these awesome videos. They have a lot of quality and you’re such an incredibly nice person!

Thank you, reading your comment was a great way to start my day! Really happy you like the content but more importantly, hearing you pick up the old games and have some fun is wonderful. In these games and other aspects of life it is pretty powerful how being consistent and patient can create something massive over time! I have some more content coming. I need like another week or 2 training the third pokemon for the battle frontier!

So glad I found this, I really appreciate how you play. You seem to be playing the old games and enjoying them for their own sakes rather than just for what can be transferred forward, getting stuck in deep with the mechanics but not abusing glitches, and trying to overcome all the challenges but taking them slowly and doing what feels fun rather than following a guide on how to get it over with as soon as possible. That's a rare combination. I've been playing gen1 in a similar way on and off for a few years, maybe I'll watch this again when I get around to Emerald's frontier in 2035 or so.

Thanks for making the vid - Emerald is great but I havn't done lots of grinding on it, the vs seeker in fr/lg is a huge asset and makes FR the main game for Me. Emerald has always been a side title for Me. I play Ruby more for the pickup trick with a pack of Zigzagoons. I think at the first hour on Ruby I usually have My starter with a full pack of Ziggys and close to 100,000 coins - kind of broken, I think they acted fast to give pickup a level curve with Emerald and Sappire when they saw how You can farm it on Ruby.

that vs seeker is probs the MAIN reason i grind FRLG so much more! Its so useful. OO i didnt know you can make that much in Ruby!

Stacking the zigzagoons and fighting with My starter, pickup abillity is level dependant on I think Emerald and Sapphire, ie lv 10 Zigzagoons pickup potions and antidotes, while lv 70 Zigzagoons can pick up nuggets and PP ups. On Ruby however, the level curve isn't programmed in, meaning a lv 5 Zigzagoon can pick up nuggets and PP ups too. Huge value to it, probably 100,000 per hour isn't unrealistic if You sell everything, but I enjoy collecting huge stacks of items to use in the playthrough.

Training my EV’ed team up to level 100 on my Japanese Firered cart now!! Including a super decent shiny rhyhorn I caught while lucky egg hunting ^.^ Even with an Alpha Sapphire save file nearing 999 hours, a full Gen6 Pokédex, and several competitively bred shinies; I find Gen3 to be some of best pure Pokémon I have ever experienced.

@@nostalgicnighthawk nooooo not TWO shinies 😭 this rhyhorn stayed 3 times after breaking out of the ball, I was sweating bullets so I know thats gotta hurt!! dang I’ve mostly been training on the 5 fighting type trainers on One Island. Been able to farm them pretty successfully with a few different fly users and earthquake shenanigans. Also have an xp share spreading xp and occasional EV’s, but even still, I’ve still got a ton of training left lol Loving every minute of it!! Hey man love your content, I’m kind of in a dilemma and I wanna ask, are you planning on transferring your Pokémon’s to Pokémon home? I hate the direction that pokemon is going everything is digital while cartridges last a long time and they’re very durable etc , I’m scared of transferring my Pokémon’s from leaf green , emerald and soul silver, honestly seeing my Pokémon’s there they have more soul than the newer games but at the same time I’m worried that bank shuts down and I won’t be able to experience and use my Pokémon’s in the newer games , I’m not sure if I wanna transfer them up and I wanna see your opinion on this if you please it might help me decide what to do, thank you in advance .

Great comment. So for me absolutely not. I will be keeping all my pokes within the respective generations. Also transferring them up to newer gens ruins the challenge it took in the older games. If that makes sense… like a shiny in the older games is many times more difficult than in a newer one. I currently have a complete loving dex in ORAS. Once i finished that i started this journey in the gen 3 games. I dont intend on moving them out of those generations. Hope this helped? If not let me know and we can bounce ideas off. Personally i would keep the games on the OG generations. That is just me

@@nostalgicnighthawk I loved your reply and thank you for that, you seem like a great guy and your love for FRLG and cyber dragons reminds me of myself a lot, and yeah your comment helped a lot, Pokémon used to be very magical and now it feels so corporate and having my Pokémon’s locked behind a subscription doesn’t sit well with me tbh .. especially that it requires internet to access them too which is quite frightening ngl, I know they’re safe in a cloud storage and all but like I said the newer games are great and all but they don’t feel like the older generation of games, they lack soul is the right sentence, so yeah I’m still contemplating because at the same time I like battling with and using my old mons which has a lot of sentimental value to me especially the Milotic I have which was a feebas I caught in route 119 in emerald back in the day, she’s in Soul Silver rn with the rest of the team, again I appreciate you replying to me I’m really grateful ^^

@@CyberRayquazaX pokemon and yugioh definitely lost some magic for me since i was a kid but that is why i am careful on how i treat them today so i can retain as much of that kid feeling as possible. I started to grind yugioh a lot however it started to feel like a numbers game and the enjoyment died. That is why i stopped within the last year. Yugioh for me is something more than just a card game. I cant quite explain maybe you understand too with yugioh or pokemon. I think protecting that relationship with certain things is important. We all get different things out of hobbies and for me, i want to keep yugioh and pokemon somewhat pure in the sense of how I experienced it as a kid. I also dislike the idea of my pokemanz sitting on a cloud and behind a paywall sort of. Like i under the business model and purpose, but i dont think its for me if i have a choice Also your name is awesome. I obviously love cyber drags and ray. A cyber rayquaza be even cooler

@@nostalgicnighthawk You couldn’t have said it any better, and yeah I understand what you’re trying to say, especially the part where you said about retaining that kid feeling inside us, I love Pokémon with all my heart to the point where it’s not just game for me, I literally can’t imagine life without it its the reason I’m still here.. I struggle with depression and personal things and Pokemon has always been my escape despite life not being kind to me as I grew up through the years, especially Pokémon Crystal that game literally feels like home to me, It just makes me sad how everything feels rn, with Nintendo wanting to shut down bank and how they’re treating their games and their fans, I wish Satoru Iwata(God rest his soul) was still around maybe things would’ve been different.. You truly helped me understand man and I greatly appreciate it, I’m glad you said all that and I understand things better now thanks to you, and yeah a cyber rayquaza would be awesome ngl ^^ Take good care of yourself man, and I’ll do the same, and may our love for Pokemon never goes away.

@@CyberRayquazaX I appreciate the depth on your comments and the conversation! Its nice to have chats like this. I hope you do find ways to battle depression and other things in your life. Life has sad moments and challenges but there is a lot of beautiful things to be a part of and experience. Sometimes that’s easier said than done. I am no therapist however i just wanted to put that out there. I do relate to these games being like a home or more like a fantasy world that takes me back to a certain place in my life as a kid where things we simple. But it is a home in a sense because of that warm cozy feeling it give. I will take care of myself and hope you do as well!
