Showing you how to replace your Pokemon GBA batteries! This works with pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald. I am not familiar with the other generation games however the process should be similar with a different size battery.

Well this is serendipitous, I actually just found my old GBA (original model, transparent) a couple weeks ago that I hadn't touched in probably 15 years and wouldn't you know, it still had my Sapphire cartridge in it. Gonna have to break out the old soldering iron at some point I guess. Thanks for this!

sweet! You can still enjoy the game with a dead battery, but having a new battery is best!
Lots of bad memories of randomly loosing my Red save file and the clock not working anymore in Sapphire 😅😅

No, as those games don’t have clock-based events, so you won’t be able to evolve Eevee into Umbreon or Espeon in those versions.
Why would I need to change battery of those pokemon games?

if you want to do things such as grow berries and evolve umbreon/espeon. There isnt a whole lot of things you miss if your internal battery is dead.

first time I switched the battery on my emerald copy I bridged a tiny capacitor or something because I smeared solder on it and it didnt boot anymore. had a heartattack but luckily I noticed that and could fix that pretty fast

jeezz! that could have went bad. But yea seems like removing the solder would fix it, if that is what you did.
