In 2004 My first Pokémon game was ruby the beldum I got from Steven was silver colored and I didn’t even realize it was shiny until realizing my metagross was totally different from Stevens 🥹🥹🥹

When i was a kid before knowing what a shiny even was I gota purple Mudkip at the start of one of my playthroughs and turned off my gameboy to reset because i assumed it was glitched.

That was me getting blue version after going with my mom to get my grandmother from the airport. Both are gone now so i treasure those memories all the more.

The braille portions always bring back fond memories of my friends at the Boys and Girls club. I was the oldest in our friend group (and the only girl, but that's neither here nor there), and we would rotate what we were doing according to age groups. We were allowed to print one page during our computer lab time, and I remember was assigned the task of looking up the braille alphabet and printing a copy of it so we could decode the messages in our games. I kept that page folded up in my bag with my game stuff so we could use it when we needed it.

About Looker on the S.S. Anne, he's most likely a Looker from a different universe, a "Faller" like Annabel in Sun and Moon, as they were found in the exact same circumstances, both without most of their memories, and in the 2 games that make direct mention to parallel universes too.

Aren't the events of Hoenn and Kanto around the same time? I took Looker's appearance here to mean that that was how Looker came to be in this universe in the first place, and the other games occur later

@@kenjyn76 Irrelevant for a Faller, this is not the Looker we know, but a Looker from an unknown Universe. We can't even say for sure the Ultra Wormholes don't also send you back or further in time.

Another one you missed for the ghost girl, there's actually a boy in the room as well when the camera switches perspective again, just behind the player.

I think Masuda's comment that battle facilities would only be enjoyed by a small group of people compared to in the past holds some water. I believe starting with generation 5 games, they added all sorts of survey and telemetry into their online services (Game Sync) that can track what game features and areas players explore the most and spend the most time with. It's curious that starting with generation 6, a lot of main stays just didn't return and are still missing from mainline games today.

I deadass saw the hiker when I was a kid . I thought it was weird I never saw it again and my cousin and sister didn’t believe me 🤦🏽‍♂️ .

Gen 3 is my favorite, if I could be transmigrated or reincarnated or sent to the Pokémon world, I’d want to be in hoenn. My favorite Pokémon is Metagross and my second is Swampert.

the braille was in the pokemon booklet that came with the game, im a little sad they didnt use it in the following game, i prefer the mechanic over the missing nomes.

I kind of miss the days when the only information we had about events and secrets were playground rumors. With how easy it is to access the Internet nowadays, the days of Mew hiding under the truck and taking the rocket to the moon to catch Deoxys are no more . . . It's kind of sad, in a way, and bittersweet. We have an infinite wealth of knowledge available to us at all times, but that also means that the younger generations won't get to experience the thrill of playground rumors and spending hours trying over and over again to get a trick a friend has told us about to work.

I stumbled upon mirage Island one of my first play throughs, and always wondered why I never saw it again. Thank you for solving the mystery!

Abandoned Ship was always the most mysterious area aside from the regi tombs for me. The music and the general vibe felt more like some Resident Evil area, instead of a pokemon one. Creepy place for sure.

There are a lot of things in Pokémon whose background is unknown, and the S.S. Cactus is one of them. What happened to it, or the S.S. Anne might forever remain a mystery.

The trumpets and French horns in Gen 3 were immaculate!!!

I adore Ruby and Sapphire. I bought Sapphire 6 months before it was released in the UK and spent all my savings on it. Worth every single penny.

3:30 Interesting fact: there was a braille chart printed in the instructon booklets of ruby/sapphire/emerald. So if you didn´t know how to decipher them, you just never read the intruction booklet :D

I feel like this video misses the point of an iceberg. A lot of the lower iceberg facts weren't obscure at all. Also it's clear only baseline research was done.

probably cos they had parents that tossed out the packaging including the manual as soon as u opened it because in their minds it was trash 😔

despite the nostallgia the way combat and moveset worked for this game was heavily flawed. like absol . high atk stat but mostly special moves. like..what did the developers think? aggro was also not steel for ssome reason

44:44 to be entirely fair, in retrospect, the steps that you take to actually get to the event locations without cheating devices (i.e. the Pomeg glitch) are a series of convoluted and questionable steps LMFAO

gen 3 was my first gen and when i got alpha sapphire back in 2014 i cried like a baby at the nostalgia itself XD fun times, i miss my childlike wonder

47:29 fits Shamin. Change love for Gratitude, the flower motive, if you harm the flowers he is on he will fight alot, the everlasting summer could be link to his sky form than usually is seen in spring and summer in lore

It should be mentioned that the game booklet that came with RSE actually has a braille dictionary at the back.

Fan theory : Ruby/Brendan, Gold/Ethan, Diamond/Lucas, are all Red, after being defeated by “Gold”(future version of Red) Red runs into Celabi and Celebi takes him back in time. Red awakens way before he ran into the grass and got stopped by oak, time passes and with Red’s memory still being that of a pokemon champion he convinces his mother to move to Johto to try and find/befriend Gold. (Important for later) Red’s father is offered a job as Gym Leader, but in Hoenn) Time passes and with his now old yellow backpack gains the nickname “Gold”, in Red’s head still searching for the guy who defeated him disliked being called by his name and decided to buy a new bag. He soon receives a email from professor elm about a big discovery. The events of GSC happen as in game, eventually once Red/“Gold” defeats Blue and is to go to Mt Silver he realizes he has to face himself, that he has been Gold the whole time. The same events occur as in the beginning except after Celebi returns, Gold asks if he can go around again. Celebi granted his wish but already created a paradox, if Red moved as a child how was he on mt silver to fight himself later, time gets split in two, the energy that was expelled by this split in timelines were absorbed by evolutionary stones. With time being split so is Red, one in each timeline. If ORAS differs from RSE other than megas I’ll go over the differences later. Red is returned to Johto 4 years before Elm’s research discovery(Togepi Egg). his father Norman is offered a new job as a gym leader inexplicably, Red convinces his mom to move with his dad to hoenn.

Honestly I love all the water in hoenn. Makes it super distinct as far as regions go. Hoenn is by far my favorite, the volcano, the desert, meteor falls, the ash covered route, the rainforest, pacificlog town, the port cities. It was the first pokemon region that felt lived in. Plus the whole regi quest blew my mind as a kid.

I just realized that Mr. Fuji is the creator of Pokemon. Mew represents Pokemon as a whole and Team Rocket represents the evil investors and people in control of the Pokemon Company. Mr. Fuji the creator of Pokemon eventually realized that Team Rocket would end up using Pokemon for "profit". The message left on Faraway Island basically proves that. He hopes that the Pokemon Franchise ends up in good hands.

Celebi and Deoxys are the rarest pokemon to get. Jirachi was recently obtainable otherwise i would count that one in too. Arceus was basically impossible to get until legends

Oras, gen 5, and emerald were my first and only pokemon games for the longest time when i was younger. Wouldve adored a battle frontier but updated

I am so happy I started my Pokemon journey with Hoenn. Gen 3 would easily still be my favorite generation if it wasn’t for how polished Gen 5 is. I wish the mainline games never went fully 3D.

Same, I was trying to get that department store event that had rare items for the secret base and instead got mirage island. I knew it was rare because I had the guide, but I didn’t care too much about it lol
